Interesting view. When I got pregnant, E remain make I use megaphone announce am. Same with when I found out the sex. Some people were cautioning me and I was looking at them as monitoring spirits. No wonder people recoil when I ask them that question. Thought they were being sensitive not knowing it's actually cultural.

my dear same here too ooooo i told everyone tellable .same with baby sex it wasn't a surprise to friends n family the only thing i didnt do was post on fb n other social media.

Hello mamas,pls I need ur advice,esp d mamas who are in intertribal marriages. My husband and I are frm different parts of the country.......all along during our pregnancy,he told me the name he wanted for the baby,i was ok with it. I told him mine too. We agreed on his name as 1st name,mine as 2nd name. Both are native names. Shortly before we put to bed,he told me to pick a nice xtian name that has a good meaning. I did and he loved the name. Now after delivery,all of a sudden,he decided that his own name comes 1st,the christian name comes 2nd and my own name 3rd. I had always wanted my children to have both tribe names so that as they grow in life,evry1 knows they re intertribal products,so I rejected his new idea

This is a non issue my dear....funny enough mothers name tend to stand more than fathers name.although the child's written name arr usually the one the father gave but the name everyone call them arr the ones the mother choose to call there child.
I for one uses my english name as written name n in sch but in my neigborhood am known with my yoruba name n dat is because my mum called me by that.the same thing is happening to my daughter now.
Just that i and my hubby agreed on one name each i wnted giving the English name but he insisted on him bring the english name so i brought the yoruba name.

@ iomoge.....am yoruba n in my part ooooo the right to name a child is from both parent bringing at least one name each.

@chanbaby.....the first 1 -3 yrs marriage always bring unnecessary family interference but with time every one will adjust to the fact that the wife is here to stay n its her home.
In as much as its nice to be urself,its nt a bad thing to be nice when ever u see them.
Personally when ever i see my inlaw i can gist with rhem for hours talking abt fashion,news n other happenings.immediately they leave that is d end ooooo.if you like report me to my hubby he will not even listen.

I was taking a walk one eveing n using carrier to carry my baby,a woman called me n says "sisi mi bawo ni" i answered.she was like if your mother carried you like this your legs won't be straight the way it is.i just told her thank you and walk away.
That is how at 4 month mil was talking how my baby cant sit unaided and this is d same baby that started walking at 9 month.

Secondly i don't give room to anyone to form an opinion about how i care for my baby

Gradual process is the best method for weaning if there is still time.
I wean my baby 2 wks to her bday and it was easy.i started at 6 month gradually by stopping breastfeeding at night and by 7 month she learnt how to sleep through out the night without feeding.when it was time to stop breastfeeding,she was already like 3 month use to not eating at night and the weaning process was easy.

You can start by feeding well before bedtime and when she wakes at night give ther other food not breast milk.she will adjust within 3 wks.

Alot are going true hardship but still keep a smiling face so no one knows what they are going through.

I hv always have d believe that even if it is 200 naira u can give just help out cos u never can know what dat money will do for the person.

Sometimes in march we invested all our money n expecting salary as usual but my hubby salary was delayed.we hv all foodstuff at home but no cash to run some miscellaneous expense.i had to call my dad n get money from him.
I knew from that moment dat things can take a twist within shortest time n it is difficult to get help especially when they think u are on d ok side.

Hmmm...Talking about nasty experience!My dear it was d most embarrassing moment of our lives! It was so bad dat we cant afford common pap 4 lil proudy,even if we do,there was no money 2 buy kerosene not 2 talk of filling our gas.There was a day we were left wit 20# n there was no baby formula or cereal,I was left wit no choice but 2 buy 2cheese balls which I fed my baby with tears at 7months old.A neigbour saw my son eating it n was like *baby W don dey eat cheese balls?n I was like yes o he like am well well*so he went n bought 5 of it 4 my son witout knwing dat he actualy saved my son from hunger. Culd u belive dat dat cheese balls were my son's breakfast,lunch n dinner 4 gud 2days.God bear me witness!We no even fit buy diaper n I did not include nappy in my baby item na rag I used...That was wen my dh put up d courage 2 ask 4 help... But God came through 4
