Family / Re: He Did Something An Adult Wouldn't Do by missojugo(f): 7:30am On Mar 24, 2015
Waoooo...Thanks for sharing the story from all parents on Nairaland

Twaci:
I have a very troublesome younger brother. He is our last born, about 3-4yrs, and always manages to get on everyone's nerves, one way or the other.

Whenever he gets on my mum's bad side, she would beat him and he would come running to me. I would ask him what he did wrong, admonish him and place his head on my laps. Then, I would sing his fav. song (My bonnie) to him while I tap him to sleep. Then he would wake up happy and ready to 'find' another person's trouble.

Well yesterday, I got into a row with my mum. We exchanged words and got slapped. In tears, I ran to my room and my little bro followed me.

He sat beside me for sometime and then asked softly, "An-twaci....." (Mind u, he is the one responsible for my moniker), "....what did you do?".

I stared back dumbly. I couldn't tell him. So I settled with, "I spoke back to mummy. Its a very bad thing to do".

He nodded, then tapped his small laps, "Lie down".

I stifled a surprised smile and obeyed gently knowing that my full weight would hurt him, "Okay".

Then he said, "Don't talk back at mummy, u hear?". I nodded, "Okay".

To my further surprise, he tapped my head gently and sang "My bonnie".

I smiled and feigned sleep cause I knew he wouldn't stop till I had slept. When he was sure I had 'slept-off', he dozed off in the same position.

This experience taught me a lot about a child's love and I thought I should share it. Children learn from the way u treat them, either good or bad. How do u treat them? (Food for thought).

NB: I apologized to mumsi and we are good now. cheesy

Do recount your experiences with kids (yours children or not), let's learn from the 'ants'.

The people she returned the money to are ingrates that is if they didn't show appreciation to the poor woman. They would have lost all the money if not for her honesty.

And to add, I don't see anything wrong here. One thing is reading and one thing is understanding what you read. From the way nairaland presented this case its now clear that nairaland has become a racist forum and will soon go down. Watch and see, back to the topic. The girl didn't sell the child, she couldn't take care of her and a widow offered to help her take care of the child and the woman gave her 20,000 which she is to pay back when she got they money and take her child back in agreement to that, they signed an agreement. I don't see why the police should arrest anyone here cause they didn't kill the child or dumped her. I hate tribalism with passion

We all know our "police force" dont get ant trainings. They dont e!ven known what their job description is hence the focus every other thing but their true calling and lend their guns to criminals on weekends.....Who even called them to interfere in the case

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Can Christian Attend Job Interviews Without Lying To His Boss by missojugo(f): 1:57pm On Feb 26, 2015
Dear Sir, Please i have some 'personal' issues i need to attend to tomorrow morning. Personal indicates you do not want to divulge further information without lying. If he goes as far as saying 'i know you are going for an interview' do not admit or deny just keep smiling and say 'please sir its a personal issue i would rather not discuss'. Pray very well before you approach him and God will see you through.

As much as I would like to believe this story, it sounds more like a FICTION to me. Firstly, the interview you gate crashed wasn't even the first stage! So I wonder how your name was smuggled in almost at the tail end of the Recruitment exercise. If it were to be a government firm, I wouldn't have been surprised! coz there're loads of Ghost workers in there. Secondly, INDUCTION is the last thing after certificate verification and upon acceptance of employment. So wondering which firm or organisation would Induct their staff before verification of document? Bros!! I wish you Goodluck in your FRONT PAGE bid.

Sorry to burst your bubble but i have done induction with 2 different blue chip companies BEFORE verification of CV and Certificate. Most Companies allow this because it takes a long time for schools and previous employers to send feedback and some don't even bother to reply them at all. If they wait for Verification before they start the induction process it might result in their recruitment process taking more than 1 year. Companies do sack employee after verification turns up undesirable issues.

The military recently changed all kitting for soldiers involved in Boko Haram operations, the new kits are not found in the market to buy.

Why is America fueling misinformation to mislead the gullible minds

Maybe because CNN is tired of not having anything nice to say about Nigeria for the past decades. They too want CHANGE by all means necessary!!!
Family / Re: How Do I Send My Sister In Law Packing? by missojugo(f): 7:08pm On Jan 15, 2015
kunyeo:
As a sequel to my earlier posting, there's a latest development. My father- in- law stormed our house unannounced today and I definitely knew the purpose. He went round and round coming to the conclusion that I allow my sister in law stay with us for some time.I stood my ground and he was about leaving,he gave the parting shot that the lady would stay with us.That was when I lost my cool, letting him know that he can only advise me, but not come and impose his decision on me in my own house. He felt offended that I was arrogant to have boasted that the house belongs to me.He left for his base.I tried apologising to him if I was rude, but frankly there were no ways to assert and express myself.

What did your wife say? How can he force his daughter on you and your wife. Masquerade dey him own house? D annoying part is d girls attitude shocked she believes she is you and your wifes responsibility and you dont have a choice. After 5 years of her attitude you have earned d right to send her back to her parents.

She is obviously very very very very physically attracted to you. If you are not married to her sister she would have raped you by now . The bible says we should flee from all appearances of evil. This babe has probably slept with you in her fantasies several times over. If you are tired of your marriage continue playing with fire if not then set her straight and let her know you are not comfortable with her subtle flirtatious behaviour. Her house no dey let her sit down self

they split up few months ago. After so much drag.. They're really good friends now.. Which actually feels a little unhealthy..

Waoooo. I would have advised to get married but put measures in place not to have biological kids together rather they can adopt. They sound like a match made in heaven and may never get over each other even if they marry other people. Life is too short to be married to a second best partner.

my friend recently came to me seeking advice coserning his relationship! He has a lovely girlfriend with whom he's been in a relationship for close to four years.. Their relationship has been really smooth as they were best friends before dating and even got closer as they started dating.. They had few ups and downs but did't stop believing in eachother... To cut it short.. It was almost 4 years when they both found out one of them was "AS" and the other "SS" (as in genotype). they've come a long way and are not finding it easy doing without each other... Now its close to five years.. They're still in love with eachother and are still holding on... Please people.. Advice..!!!

Family / Re: Your Views On Men Who Help Their Partners With House Chores. by missojugo(f): 7:30pm On Dec 23, 2014
dam007:
Funny how men view things these days... I'm of the opinion that some things aren't supposed to be ignored regardless of the influence of our colleagues... Helping one's spouse with some house chores isn't mandatory but I feel men frown at it because it looks #demeaning to them as the man of the house.. Here's my view as regards this.. I help my partner with some of "our house chores" when its clear that she's too tired to or for Some reasons unable to do it all.. To me, I do it not because I should, nor because I'm mandated to but because its our house.. Ps I'd love more opinions happy nairalanders!...

My dear there is nothing wrong with helping someone you claim to love, its called been human. If there is something wrong with a man helping with household chores then there is something wrong with a woman helping out in paying the bills.

Nigerian men : If you want a housewife who will be 100% domesticated go for it. If you want a superwoman who will be a career woman, help pay bills and still be 100% domesticated then you are on a long thing!

I don't personally know any cases they have dealt with. I learned of them on nairaland myself. From what I heard though they will do a much better job than what the police did. And you can remain anonymous when you contact them I believe.

There is some information about what they do in the link I posted, if you look around their site a bit.

Thanks

I believe Naptip is the organization you need to contact, if I'm not mistaken. Here's a link to their different phone numbers and addresses by state.

Please contact them asap. God bless you for your concern for this poor child.

Thanks and God bless you too to responding.

Please do you know anyone the organisation has sorted out before. Will they not be like police that locked the witch up for 2days and then gave the girl back to her cry cry cry
Please share any more details you have about them. God bless you

- Can you please tell us where this horrible abuse is taking place (State, Street and House Number)?
- Do you mind furnishing us with the numbers (if you have) of this Cruella De Vil?

My friend wants to be sure you wont just go there and cause more trouble for the poor girl. If police can give her back to the woman after narrowly escaping death at her hands. The girl probably doesnt trust anyone to help her after that.

Who are you and what organisation do you represent??
