Missy B, I've missed you o,  Ha Ha at you slaying that negrill.

Those pics are bangin'. Look at all the paparazzi all up in Genny's grill , and they try to tell me that girl isn't ruling the world ! SMH  grin
Hey Kadman, haven't seen your comment(s) in this section for quite some time now, you aiight?  smiley

Don't mind these yeye people, I look at the style and class evident in picture 1, the pure beauty evident in picture 2, the fame evident in picture 4 and I'm like '' How can anyone possibly hate on this lady whose only offense is being beautfiful, classy and of course doing Nigeria proud''. Nairalanders tire me o.

The mirror boy. . . .hnmm.

My opinion? if and only if u just feel like putting moni into the making of the silly movie, go cinema watch am but if not, wait till its uploaded on youtube or something. You wont be missing a thing cos the movie is a waste of moni. the movie is not worthy of all the ads and watever surrounding it. I wasted my moni and 90mins on my time in dat cinema
Yup! I hear the movie isn't so good. I can't be bothered . . . Still waiting for the one and only Ijè to be available on youtube.  grin

From gerontoligal  findings I can say Genevieve should be around 35 -37 years so she should stop immediately all that bulshit talk of 31 years and I can prove it anyway.
From etymologic and semantic ''findings'', I can say, for certain, you need to concentrate on other things that obviously need attention other than the supposedly discerned falsity of Gene's declared age.  grin  The word is  ''gerontological'', thank me later.  tongue

I don't know about it being the most, but I can say, through empirical observation, it's indeed very annoying and distracting. At that moment, it takes a great deal of self-control and tolerance not to shut him/her up by spanking or severely scolding him/her.

The question is: Is Mama Gee's statement incorrect? tongue
Since you said the difference between both have blurred and both seem to be acceptable lately, then, that comment is acceptable but I'd think ''Cheating is for those who want to'' is more appropriate.

And, Missy B, I want my Iyan and your love in here.

The example I gave earlier is a cleft sentence (sort of).

Now, I don get a brainwave grin grin.

I don get an example you go fit answer.

Answer this:

It is you that I love.

Would you say "it is you who I love". Uhn?

Oya, answer that, moi love tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue
Who wouldn't learn fast with examples like this?! tongue

It's you [object] that [relative pronoun] I [ subject] love[ verb]

The verb is transitive, so I'd use 'that'. In fact, that is correct.
I don understand. Ese! kiss

EducationRe: ABC Of Common Errors And Mistakes In English by MissyB3(f): 10:55pm On Jun 25, 2011
It is entirely acceptable to write either the man that wanted to talk to you, or the man who wanted to talk to you
I agree the ''that'', in this case, is a relative pronoun but, in the previous phrase '' That man over there'', that, in this case isn't a relative pronoun. Am I missing something? embarassed

Following my mnemonic, that mama-gee's sentence should read - 'Cheating is for those that who want to' tongue
RomanceRe: Are You Romantic? Just a diversion from the usual tough loving....something more by MissyB3(f): 10:44pm On Jun 25, 2011
Whats your idea of being romantic
Romance is in every little thing one does and says. . . It doesn't necessarily have to be planned or big. It's you giving her a bath sometimes, squeezing out time to call her or send messages, stealing kisses [in private and public], holding hand/ waist in public as if to tell the world ''this is my girl',  giving her a treat, etcetera.

Do you like flowers, chocolates, wine, strawberries, whipped cream and greeting cards
Not really crazy about them. Greeting cards are cool but I'd rather a simple text that reads something like'' I deh miss you die/ just thinking about you'' kiss  cheesy

Do you like planning a get away trip with your partner
Yup!

Do you send passionate text messages to the one you love
Yup . . .Used to.

Whats the most romantic thing you have ever done.
It's up to the receiver to tell the most romantic but, I can say I am, by nature, a romantic person and I've done a lot of things that touched the heart.

Whats the most romantic thing that has been done to or for you
The most? Hmmm . . .I dunno but the particular act I love so much and can't seem to forget is waking up from those afternoon naps and the first thing I see is a smiling face very close to mine, two eyes staring at me [ That surprise-gladness feeling  kiss ] and I'm like ''Geez what are you staring at, I thought you slept too'' and he laughs slyly '' angel, you're beautiful'' and then kisses my forehead . . .This makes me smile sheepishly and feel like a child, the exact way I love to feel sometimes when with my he.

Do you like a massage? Forehead kiss and silent whispers into your hears, do you like that?
Not crazy about massage but I so love it when my forehead is kissed. It means more than I love you, to me. And the silent whispers make me giggle like a child . . .I like.

ola olabiy:
What do we do where the statement has no transitive or intrasitive verb? E.g. That person over there.
My confusion was on when to use the relative pronouns [ who and that ], the 'that' in your statement above isn't a relative pronoun but a demonstrative pronoun - whose usage I understand perfectly - plus there's no verb in that phrase so the problem of which relative pronoun to use doesn't arise.

Thanks once again, I think my mnemonic is perfect and I now understand how that and who work.
So how do I pay for the knowledge imparted to me? Want to come over to the kitchen? wink

Lmao @ the modification . . . .You're very unserious. grin grin grin

EducationRe: ABC Of Common Errors And Mistakes In English by MissyB3(f): 2:36pm On Jun 25, 2011
I'm great, thanks, you?

I'm not so sure the explanation of when/how to use both relative pronouns [who and that] is clear but i sorta discovered an mnemonic device to help me understand when to use which. The mnemonic device? When the verb is transitive, you use that and when the verb is intransitive, you use who. Correct? If yes, then I think your explanation was perfectly understood and for that, I thank you. If not, explain again, I'll pay with the Ila Alasepo and Efo Ebolo, Iyan you requested for. wink

Also, if the identity of the person being discussed is known, use "who".
Following this, which of these sentences is correct?
1 - Ola, the man who stole the goat just left
2 - Ola, the man that stole the goat just left

I think the second explanation is quite clear, thank you prof. grin
