https://www.austinokai.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Fulani-Herdmen-300x202.jpg A WEEK AFTER BELLO INVITED FULANI HERDSMEN TO KOGI STATE 10 feared dead as herdsmen attack communities in Kogi ___________ Just last week, Gov. Bello threatened to deal with any traditional ruler(s) anywhere there is crisis, the traditional ruler will be removed or dethrone from office. And this week, Fulani herdsmen attacked Agabifo in Omala Local Government Area and Omi in Yagba West Local Government Area, both in Kogi State, allegedly killing 10 persons at the weekend. The influx of the herdsmen into the state, was following the recent pronouncement by the state Governor, Yahaya Bello that he will not support anti Grazing Bill. The governor went further by declaring a green passport for any Fulani herdsmen wanting to live in the state. The Fulani herdsmen, it was learnt, invaded the farmland and fed their cattle with the farm produce, and attacked a farmer and his family when the farmer approached them. They chased them to the village where about 10 people were allegedly killed. It was further gathered that the Fulani herdsmen, after invading the village, carrying AK47 riffles and other dangerous arms, went back to the farm and destroyed their crops and ran away. Sunday Telegraph learnt that the villagers have run away from their houses as the herdsmen threatened to invade the village again. Similarly, another group of Fulani herdsmen invaded another farmland at Omi. An eye witnessed account disclosed that the Fulani herdsmen with over 30 cattle invaded a rice farm owned by a woman, destroying the rice farm and chased the farmers away. A farmer, who doesn’t want his identity to be known disclosed that the Fulani herdsmen were fully armed. He added that other farmers were in their farm working when they heard gunshots allegedly coming from the invading herdsmen. According to the source, he escaped by the grace of God. He appealed to the state government to take a proactive step by calling on the Fulani herdsmen to order. The Public Relation Officer of the State Police Command, Mr. William Ayah, while confirming the attack, said only two persons were killed by some unknown gun men. While insisting that the command is yet to confirm if Fulani herdsmen carried out the attack or not, Aya said the State Police Commissioner, Ali Janga, had ordered full investigation into the mayhem. The Governor, Alhaji Yayaha Bello, during a tripartite stakeholders meeting between the state government, the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Rearers Association and the Farmers Association in Kogi State, Bello had thrown the gate of the state opened to Fulani herdsmen, who found it difficult to enter states like Benue, Ekiti and Nassarawa. Governor Bello said the people of the state must go and learn how to coexist peacefully with the cattle rearers. The governor also read riot acts to the traditional rulers, in the state vowing to adopt all available means to punish them if they fail to instill discipline and prevent further breakdown of law and order in their domain. “My administration will deal with any traditional rulers anywhere there is crisis, the traditional ruler will be removed or dethrone from office,” he warned. http://www.austinokai.com/2017/12/10/gov-bello-my-administration-will-deal-with-traditional-ruler-that-dont-support-welcome-fulani-herdsmen/ |
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Fulani-Herdmen.jpg It was a bloody Friday in Kogi State as some suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded two local government councils killing 10 persons and then set their farm land ablaze. The incident took place in Omala and Yagba West local government councils. According to an eye witness, some Fulani herdsmen invaded Ogabifo village near Agbenema community in Omala local government council of the state on Friday with their cattle. According to the source, “the Fulani herdsmen invaded the farmland and fed their cattle with the produce of the farm, and when the owner of the farm with his family approached them, they attacked the farmer and his family and chased them to the village where about 10 people were killed.” It was further gathered that after invading the village, the Fulani herdsmen went back to the farm and destroyed their crops and then ran away. A source, name withheld said the Fulani herdsmen numbering 5 were fully armed with AK 47 and other dangerous weapons. The source also confirmed to DAILY POST that the villagers have ran away from their various houses as the Fulani herdsmen promised to invade the village again. In another similar incident, Fulani herdsmen have also invaded another farm land in Yagba West local government council of the state. An eye witnessed account disclosed to DAILY POST that the Fulani herdsmen with over 30 cattle invaded a rice farm owned by a woman in Omi, destroyed the rice farm and chased farmers from their farm land. A farmer, who doesn’t want his identity disclosed revealed that the Fulani herdsmen were fully armed when they arrived the farm land. He added that other farmers were in their farm working when the heard several gun shots. It could be recalled that the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello last week had said that he will not introduce any anti grazing law to curtail the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the state. The governor during a tripartite stakeholders meeting between the state government, the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Rearers’ Association and the Farmers Association in Kogi State, rather threw the gate of the state open to Fulani herdsmen. He said the state was ready not only to accommodate them but also provide security for their lives and property. Governor Bello said that the people of the state must go and learn how to coexist peacefully with the cattle rearers. The governor also read riot acts to the traditional rulers, in the state vowing to adopt all available means to punish them if they fail to instil discipline and prevent further breakdown of law and order in their domain. “My administration will deal with any traditional ruler any where there is crisis, the traditional ruler will be removed or dethroned from office,” he warned. When contacted, the Kogi State Police Public Relation officer, ASP William Ayah could not confirm the incident. He said he will contact the affected local government DPO’s to get information about the incident and get back to our correspondent. http://www.austinokai.com/2017/12/09/bloody-weekend-in-kogi-as-fulani-herdsmen-allegedly-invade-community-kill-10/ |

https://www.austinokai.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/kogi-1-300x162.jpg Another Kogi civil servant commits suicide John Akinfehinwa 1 min ago 47 year-old Abdullahi Uye Zhiya from Oguma in Bassa Local Government of Kogi State has killed himself by intentionally drinking a dose of substance suspected to be poisonous chemical. His frustration may not be unconnected to the non-payment of his salaries of about twelve months. Close family sources told DAILY POST that for over one year, life had not been favourable as everything turned for the worst for him. Another family source confirmed that he was a hardworking man, and that ” because he had been without salary for several months, his situation became unbearable.” It was gathered that many relations have been reaching out to him in terms of help, but it was not sufficient as he decided to end it in death. Another version of his story from some of his relatives indicated that the deceased may not have taken his life because of his economic challenges, but that there seemed to be other challenges which he refused to disclose. According to the source, “We suspect that what happened has a spiritual undertone. The deceased at some point became withdrawn, but even when we asked he was never forthcoming.” The deceased as the chief store officer at the State Universal Basic Education office in Oguma was described by his colleagues as an easy going man who avoided trouble. http://www.austinokai.com/2017/11/30/another-kogi-civil-servant-commits-suicide/ |

https://austinokai.com/images/Demo/blog/Gbenga-Daniel-BellaNaija.jpg Flush out Yahaya Bello from Lugard House in 2019 – Gbenga Daniel tells Kogi PDP The National Chairmanship aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Gbenga Daniel has tasked members of the party to work hard and wrestle power from the All Progressive Congress (APC) and return back to Lugard House in 2019. Otunba Daniel, a two term governor of Ogun State, made this call while speaking at the PDP State Secretariat in Lokoja on Wednesday during his campaign visit to Kogi State. According to him, Kogi was a PDP state, stressing that, some manipulation happened during the last election in 2015 governorship election which gave APC the victory. The former governor stated that Kogi used to be very peaceful, pointing that the story line has changed. “If it is not the senator beating the governor, the governor will be beating the senator.” “This is very pathetic . The people of the state are tired of this arrangement. I therefore urge you to go and work hard to return to Lugard House” On his mission to Kogi State, the National Chairmanship aspirant said that he has a vision to transform and revive the lost glory of the party. “Power has finally returned to the people at the grassroots and things will start taking shape and we are determined to reposition the party at both national, state and local government levels.” “What used to happen was that you work for the party, only to hear on radio and television that Mr A, B and C have been appointed by the President without making any input. Under my leadership, things will be done differently,” he added. Source: http://austinokai.com/index.php/politics/52-flush-out-yahaya-bello-from-lugard-house-in-2019-gbenga-daniel-tells-kogi-pdp |

www.austinokai.com AUSTIN OKAI: THE LUGARD HOUSE AND THEM DIRTY DEALS BREAKING NEWS: HOW KOGI CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY, PETRA AKINTI ONYEGBULE, LIED AGAINST MIKE ILE https://austinokai.com/images/pt6.jpg The camp of embattled Facebook celebrity and media entrepreneur, Mike Ile, has began to make good it’s vow to reveal the truth about most of the lies and half truths that have been posted by the grand conspiracy to pull him down. Mike has been silent through his travails as he directs all inquiries to his lawyer, Firsts Baba Isa of FBI LEGAL. However, an insider has opened up on one very important piece of the puzzle. You may recall that a certain police officer tried to achieve self glory by going to town with totally uninvestigated claims and spurious allegations without giving Mike the right to fair hearing. Among those allegations,, this cop told the world that the Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi state governor, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, denied ever having any deal with Mike Ile. He clearly stated that he asked Petra about Mike’s deal with the government and she denied the existence of any such deal. She is said to have further claimed that Mike only met the governor to beg him to attend his show, and was allegedly turned down. The cop went on to lie to the world that when confronted, Mike “admitted that he lied”. Well, Mike’s Camp has now released incontrovertible evidence of his dealings with Petra and the details are stunning. Major highlights from the released emails and chats below prove the following: 1. That Petra did approach Mike to ask his help on a social media campaign to ensure some damage control for her principal, the governor of Kogi state. 2. Petra stated clearly that Mike would be placed on a retainership. 3. Mike made recommendations of what could be done for the government, recommendations that Petra accepted and agreed to work with. 4. That Petra invited Mike to Lokoja, and she took him to the Governor himself, the Chief of staff, the DG Media, the Commissioner for Agriculture, and the head of the bus transport service. 5. That a retainership of two million naira per month was agreed. 6. Mike actually kept his end of the bargain by starting the project. 7. That Mike held meetings with Petra, not just alone, but with a number of important youths who were to have played very important roles in the deal. One of them was the acting President of the KSU SUG, Anthony Edogbo. 8. That Petra paid an initial five hundred thousand naira out of two million naira for the first month. She claimed it was her personal money and assured that the bulk money would definitely be paid. 9. Mike recommended a media tour. Petra claimed that the money was not paid but she held that media tour all the same. With what did she arrange the tour? Sand? She didn’t even invite the initiator of the event. 10. Petra has a history of robbing Mike of monies meant for him. He refused to expose her when she did same in 2015 when both of them worked with the Echocho (Jibrin Isah) campaign team. 11. Petra goofed badly by lying to that cop. Mike Ile had obviously feared she would be tricky. He asked her at some point in their chats, “I hope lightening will not strike twice in one spot”. This was apparent reminder of the 2015 incident. Petra replies Mike’s fear with an assurance: “You can’t keep rubbing the PAST in my face” and “You will get your pay, I mean it”. She even deceived the dude by sending a munch of her chat with the Commissioner for Agriculture and claimed she earned to use it to establish trust between Mike and herself. 12. Mike, trusting this lady, proceeded to borrow some funds from some of his so called friends, believing that he had a foundation to do so. How can a man expecting two million naira every month be afraid to borrow 800 thousand? 13. Petra held that media tour. It was a recommendation by Mike. She did not invite nor involve him. The tour was arranged with money. So if she held Mike’s event without informing him, how can she claim that money was not paid? Did she tell her bosses that the tour was Mike’s idea? 14. Most of the so called friends of Mike who are insulting him on Facebook today had their names on his list for the media tour. Dude cared about them, he had pencilled their names to earn some money. But because of some lying official in the Kogi state government, that deal never saw the light of day and Mike incurred lots of debts as a result. But the anger in Mike’s Camp was really raised to a height when they saw an allegation that she had denied such a deal ever happened. If she had no deal with Mike, why was she paying him a deposit? Why was she talking about a 1.5 million naira balance for the first month? Why did she approve the jingle Mike made for her governor as part of the radio campaign of the project? Why did she not counter Mike’s post earlier in June when he stated clearly that his defence of Governor Yahaya Bello on Facebook was purely a media job he had to do and do well? She read that post and she liked it when she said to Mike, “Your works are speaking for you”. It is so sad that Facebook has become a home of irresponsible judgement where one man becomes judge and jury even when he confessed to the world that he didn’t ask for Mike’s side of all these stories. A place where people hide their own sins while trying to bring down other people. Well, every dog must have its day, one can say. Mike’s Camp has promised to release some more evidence. A few names have been mentioned and the details are startling. • See relevant chats and emails between Mike and Petra below. What a wicked world. Mike Ile is said to be considering legal action against Petra.
