Romance / The True History Behind Valentines Day by MisterKings(m): 1:49am On Feb 14, 2020
While some believe that Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Saint Valentine’s death or burial–which probably occurred around A.D. 270–others claim that the Christian church decided to place St. Valentine’s day in the middle of February in an effort to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia.

Celebrated on February 15, Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would gather at a sacred cave.

The priests would sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification. They would then strip the goat’s hide into strips, dip them into the sacrificial blood (which explains the touch of red una dey use up and down)

They then ran naked or nearly-naked around Palantine whipping any woman within striking distance with the thongs. Many women welcomed the lashes and even bared their skin to receive the fertility rite; it’s open to speculation what the lashes represented.

During Lupercalia, the men randomly chose a woman’s name from a jar to be coupled with them for the duration of the festival. Often, the couple stayed together until the following year’s festival. Many fell in love and married.

JONNYSPUTE:
How Do I Make My 4years Old Son Understand Or S He Still Too Young

Happy Sunday my fellow Nairalanders. Sure we all are cool?

Sorry to bother you all but I have been worried since what transpired between myself and my son who will be 4yrs by June this year.

I was not able to go to church today due to the fact that I just came back from travel very late yesterday night.

So I was asleep when my wife and my two sons left for service. I woke up around some minutes after 12 noon and decided to wash some of the undies I wore during my journey.

As I was doing that, my wife and kids came back and my son rushed straight to my room shouting daddy daddy, when I answered from the bathroom and he came in and saw me washing, the question he asked me has been making me uncomfortable.

He said "Daddy, why are you washing? Are you a girl? Before he could finish that my wife walked in and said to him, Don't worry, very soon you will start washing your clothes by yourself but what got me more worried was his reply. He told my wife that he won't wash his cloths that it's girls that are supposed to be washing.

Honestly, I'm worried, will he out grow this mentality?

I need a wide coverage, please.

Whaaaaaatt? Where did he learn that from? Did you give him a sex supremacy lecture in one of your actions or your wife taught him that. Why would he think that or perhaps his play friends have instilled that into him unconsciously.
Please do all you can to get rid of that mentality in your boy before he grows up and expects women to be his slave. Teach him responsibility now that he is young and ask him where he learnt that so you can curb the source, if possible. That is not a good training.

A child should be taught responsibility whether he be a boy or she be a girl. Washing and cooking are not restricted to women learning to change car tyre or working towards being financially stable is not restricted to men.

Romance / Re: How Many Times Is Enough To Call Your Partner's Phone by MisterKings(m): 8:46am On Feb 10, 2020
ugolinze123:
Hi guys have been in this heated argument with her since morning cus i called twice and she was away from her phone and now shes annoyed that i was supposed to call atleast 4times before coming to conclusion on her not reachable.. So I decided to ask, How many times should be enough to ring one's phone? Me I think 2 times is enough to get the other person pick the call.

It depends on if she is your girlfriend or wife. Let me help you count it for you if she is your Girlfriend

You call her in the morning to ask her stupid questions like
How was your night? (Like if she had a nightmare, there is something you can do about it)
Have you eaten? (like you will bring food to her wherever she is)

Then you call her before noon and ask if she has gotten to work (if she is not jobless)
Then you call again just before evening to tell her you just wanted to hear her voice, that you were listening to Naira Marley's song and it reminded you of her.

Then you call again when YOU get back home from work and ask her how her day went? (It went to see the queen)

Then call her just before you get in bed to tell her sweet dreams

Total 6 times on Average is more than enough...that is if you are not obsessed and too jobless.

Religion / Re: Five Things Every Christian Must Know About Sex (must Read) by MisterKings(m): 10:53am On Feb 09, 2020
Sex is an amazing thing and the one natural thing that has been constant in life. Making it look like sin is not only daft but also goes against the plan of God.

God created us and inserted this desire in us. He did not restrict it to only be activated when you are married. It is there especially in your youth. If it was not meant to be explored he could have turned off the switch till we are married.

When you lock yourself in from having sex the desire will overflow to an extent that anyone and anything will be sufficient to quench the hunger.

Go and ask the roman Catholic fathers who molest boys.

Its natural and healthy don't let religion tell u other wise.

Brother, MOST Naija Women are selfish by nature, thats the truth, let them argue with their data.

They want our own money. They want to keep their own. They want us to shower them with love and care selflessly, but to do the same is a problem unless they know they need to do it to collect something from us. When you go to a restaurant they want to eat your own food despite the fact it is the same thing you bought for her. They will say its love. Thunder fire that kind love Their feeling of ENTITLEMENT no be here.

My wife (my then babe) was not told. She just knew that she has to make an input no matter how small. She was depositing virtually her whole salary which was about 60k just to make sure we achieved this thing. I handled the big ones she handled the small ones. My wife paid for my suit. I did not have to ask her even my own family did not drop pure water for my wedding. They told me abi na you won marry, we send you message? That is the reason why when they talk from now till tomorrow, my wife comes first, that is why any side chic wey won enter our matter, na me go give my wife the bottle to break her head.

Most Nigerian women like to form equality when it suits them, when matter land, they go say abi you are the man of the house. If that is the case then as a man na authoritarianism I go apply for my house, Adolf hitler go be saint where I dey. Since I handle everything. You dont have a say. Its what I say that stands whether wrong or right.
Na so I for do am if e be say e happen to me.

Women are meant to assist us. A good woman will assist without being told. If she cant she will show it in her attitude that she is unhappy that she cant. I see no reason why your fiancee is pissed because she has to buy her own wedding gown etc.

If I was in your shoes I will cancel the wedding. No white wedding. Reason being I do not have the money for it and NOBODY is assisting me. We go stay traditionally married. Your woman will wake up by force because they no dey use white wedding play, it is where they can dance to stupor and sing bye bye to yeye boyfriend at the reception.

But let me not sound like I am supporting you. You sef, na scope they dey use dey do these things. You dont say;
ehe Nkechi so I spent 2million for trad so for this white you go gats put 50%, you think say I no know how much you dey collect? God don catch you

No! You for ask like this

Sweety pie, please I need your help on this mara. You see I have spent 30 billion from my account. Even though I still dont understand why I did that, but as e be I need your help, if you can.

Since you know the kind of woman you are getting married to.
For which you deserve slap if you say you did not see these signs before saying Will you marry me.

This is my personal opi.

And by the way I shoot wedding videos, so patronise me. Check my site and see my jobs

sylvestersamuel:
Good morning my fellow Nairalanders, I will try to make my story brief and precise.... I have a fiancée whom I am already engaged to. As a matter of fact I have already done all our traditional marriage and rites the only thing left is our white wedding which will be coming up in the next 3 weeks.

Yesterday, my fiancée came to visit me in my house so as to discuss our wedding plans. But before she left, we had a slight misunderstanding and the reason for our misunderstanding was because I allocated 50% of our wedding expenses to her i.e (she would be the one to sew her wedding gown, pay for the catering service amongst others) while I take care of other expenses...

On hearing this, she didn't even utter a word but left with annoyance, since then I have been trying to call her but she hasn't been picking my calls neither have she replied any of my messages....

Please I need your advice, did I do or say anything wrong, because I know how much I spent during our traditional marriage rite and mind you, she earns close to 200k per month.... Insult in form of advice is allowed all I need is just your advice.

Bro, it's because Nigerians have this mentality that there's always a spirit behind every misfortune or tragedy in their lives. That is why they always feel that their village people are the cause of their problems or someone who hates them at work is the one doing them. That's the reason people feel juju exists.
For real, if juju is only used to cause harm on people who you have conflict with, then, it can be used to fight the enemies that are terrorizing this country. No?

As you talk Village people now. I just remembered the series of skits about village people which I shot and edited for my boss at work. LOL. See the videos if you care to watch

That's your greatest undoing.FEAR kills faster than death itself.thats why "fear not" appeared 365 times in the Bible,God knows the implications of being fearful.

I'm just lucky that I came from a bloodline where charms hardly affects us,My father don step on charms tire, yet he is just an ordinary church goer.My mom recently step on charms and just last week we were laughing about it.

You know why?We already know our enemies. Before anything go happen for the family we don know already. The idiot wey put the charm self before my momsi March am self them be tell is just that momsi forgot to carry out some assignments before hand. She is a bit very stubborn.

And we done warn the woman wey do that charm. grin grin
She been dey deny but we shall warn am say if she try am again she go enter ground. She is my father's uncles wife. But within me,I know say I never forgive her.Na my father forgive but as for me,she must enter ground soon.

grin lol killer...

killer is what people are afraid being called or the consciousness of having blood on their hands. Forgetting that there is a possibility the person would have killed you and from the grave you will be regretting. Make sure you deal with the bitch. E don dey too much for bad belle people.

Even God himself murders when he feels like. When he say make Saul clear everybody for amalek both pikin and adult. That's life.

Gone are the days when people know that na this man dey do me wicked and they leave am in the name of Jesus. Thunder fire devil.

I'm still stating it to you bro, that you can't kill someone without harming them physically in the first place.
If we can kill someone with jazz, then let's implement this device in killing boko haram terrorists. Don't you think so?

You have a point. I don't know how it works and I have never used one before and I find it ridiculous that Africa use jazz to destroy themselves instead of helping.

One day I was heading home and I saw a crowd of people mostly women wearing just bra and wrappers. Old and young alike. They were led by a man in all red and juju attire. They stopped at different locations dropping sacrifice causing traffic in broad daylight.
While I was in keke. I and a fellow passenger were discussing how stupid these juju are and how they never help in doing good only causing harm.
This our discussion angered the driver who was an old man and he said he is not a Muslim or Christian he is into traditional worship and support what they do and that we should not say what we don't know.
He went on to explain that jazz has both positive and negative and that if he was a babalawo he will never give an evil person jazz to use as a weapon against someone else and that it is we Africans who have evil intentions.

Your father was poisoned, that's all.
Nothing diabolic about it.
There are several ways to inflict harm on someone physically without their knowledge.

True its not like there was an autopsy on my father's corpse.
That does not cross the fact that people use diabolic means. I had an uncle who killed his brother with jazz. These things happen.

Hmnn.... I can imagine how your family must have felt. We hear stories like these everyday, and some people will still doubt.

The annoying thing is that. The man was later boasting out loud that he was the killer. Will I say fear was the reason why he was not dealt with by the company or what.

People let evil people live their lives after doing wicked things. I don't know who invented the word forgiveness. A tooth for a tooth is best.

That is balance.
10hours a day is fine. Health practisioners suggest 8hrs a day.
If Otedola sleeps 10 hours a day it most likely means he is working smart by delegating most of the work to his subordinates.
Poor mentality says hustle, which means no sleep all night which only ends up in disaster because when you make that money there won't be enough health to enjoy it.

And for those who think it's by no sleep you will take to hammer. The truth is if you spend the most part of that sleepless night watching telemundo you will still end up poor.

Someone said a little sleep a little slumber and poverty will take over. If you like don't sleep poverty will still take over if all you do is talk without taking action.
