BS PT2 Cc cappo Comtem2011 Talltosyne Friday July 20th, I lost my mucous plug and I knew labor was getting pretty close. I was so excited that the next day, I rushed off to make my delivery hair. Entered market to get things to make zobo for the house, got extra supplies of my son's cereal, milk and diaper. I told dh and my mum that labor would come before Tuesday. But no one was taking me and my labor ish serious anymore, due to the previous two false alarms. I got home and ate lots of pineapple core and used the leftover to prepare my zobo. Dh was even preparing to travel back to Lagos to attend to work. That Saturday night, I woke up with that feeling of something about to pop out of my vjay. I wiped and didnt see anything. Woke up again, same thing. So I danced and jumped a little in the toilet to see if it'll pop out. I thought it was more mucous plug about to fall out. I went back to bed. 4.30am, I heard one large popping sound and gush. The whole bed was flooded with thick water. I jumped up and woke dh up. He was surprised to see water all over the bed. I told him my water has broken. Went to wake mum up and she screamed "Jesus Jesus", as if na person die. She was surprised I wasn't in pains. I even took my time to brush and wear beta cloth before we drove down. The hospital I registered fell my hand. First they did a painful VE and said my cervix is closed. How?? Contractions had already started setting in. They did a CTG and they said i'm not having contractions. Say what? I asked for my gynae and they said he has plenty emergencies to attend to. One lanky doctor walked in and was telling the midwives that this is the lady that has done two previous CS and she has been scheduled for an Emergency Csection. I said who are you talking about? Mum was already getting pissed. My gynae finally came out and changed mouth that its CS straight. I asked him what happened to all his sweet talks about giving me a chance at Vbac? He said since my waters has broken, infection can set in immediately so they hàve to section me asap. Mum don vex already. She said oya, let's go to our family hospital. We rushed down there with my waters still trickling and contractions getting more intense. As we stepped in, I met my very close friend. She was one of the gynae there and my angel doctor. Immediately they took me to labour ward. Checked and said I was 4cm dilated. Monitored baby's heartbeat for a while and then she decided to do an enema. I asked what it was. And she explained its to help me progress faster but the pains will be more intense after it's done. I was like, bring it on. Poor me, I didn't know what was in store for me. They did it and I pooed three times. The last poo trip I almost fell on the floor while returning to my bed. The craziest pain ever started. I had experienced labor before but this one was extraordinary. My waist was on fire. I couldn't help but screaming, snap my fingers, pull my hair, grabbed the nurses hands and beg them to help me. I was shouting anyhow. "My waist is on fire. Rub my waist. Hit it. Stop gisting. I need an epidural. Doctor help me. Mummy pls how did you bear your own? Women are suffering. What did women do to deserve this. This pain will kill me. Baby pls come out. What are you waiting for?". My pain threshold is zero man. I hate pain. I thought I could bear it. It wasn't easy. Dh came and was asking how i'm feeling. I said don't ask me questions, rub my waist. A nurse came to tell me that it looks like its my mum that is in labor, with the way she was acting outside. I felt so bad. When mum walked in, I tried my best to be calm for her. Kolewerk. When I finally got to 8cm after 2hrs, one nurse mistakenly said in 30mins I should be ready to push. I started checking time. 2:30pm, I never reach 10cm. I was so mad. After a while, I was fully dilated and asked to push. Pushing was even mild compared to pain of contractions. I pushed with all my strength. I pushed thrice and my angel doc asked me to stop and stepped outside. I didn't know my princess was coming out with her face. Damn! My angel doc said she doesn't want to risk anything happening to my baby at this stage, cus she will never forgive herself. Off we went to the theatre. Inside the theatre, I was hysterical. Asking plenty unnecessary questions about the type of anaesthesia, injections, bla bla bla. They had to knock me out and perform the CSection. Baby came out weighing 4kg with balloon cheeks. I was happy I tried my best to give Vbac a shot. And i'm also happy mother and baby are alive to tell and hear the story. Say hello to Gabrielle!

BS Part 1 When I discovered I was pregnant again, I never experredit. But I was excited all the same. A lot of persons told me no two pregnancies are the same, so I was looking forward to an MS-free pregnancy. But I was greatly disappointed. The first three weeks was awesome. And then the vomiting and spitting set in. I couldn't take any swallow. I couldn't take semi-solids, couldn't take milk, and eventually, I couldn't take water. I had to travel back to stay with my folks for proper care. I couldn't cope with MS and a hyperactive toddler. The MS became worse. And then I remembered a wonder drug I was given with my first pregnancy that stopped the MS in 24hrs. The search began. Dh searched and searched for the drug but couldn't find it. My doc said it was out of stock in their hospital and his supplier couldn't find it as well. Hay God! We searched for weeks, called everyone we knew to search pharmacies around them. All this while, I was losing weight. I started the pregnancy at 66kg but dropped to 55kg in my first trimester. It was crazy. I could only manage to eat once a day and that was about 11pm. I'll quickly soak small garri with little groundnut, then rush off to bed before I vomit it. That was my only meal of the day. Water, zero! Drugs, zero! I was looking forward to 2nd trimester so I can get some relief, but I was disappointed again. MS dealt with me for 4months. Fortunately a friend asked me to search a pharmacy in Abuja and I found it. He bought the last sachet. When the drug was finally waybilled to me, it was like I had struck gold. I held it like an egg, kissed it sef. Lol. The next day after taking the Navidoxine my vomiting stopped. At last! Food aversions was still there but it kept improving. I could tolerate some meals. I didn't look like a sack of bones anymore. Fastfoward to my 3rd trimester, I started feeling a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen, plus intense braxton hicks. I complained and they said its all preparation for labor. At 34weeks, the pain was so intense that i realized I was having regular contractions. We rushed to the hospital and they said my cervix was still closed but I was given some meds to prevent premature labor. But the contractions continued, this time, irregular. It was always worse in the evenings. I managed it till I got to the almighty 37weeks. And then I became anxious to see my baby. I had spoken with my doctor and he was willing to give me a chance at Vbac, only if baby does not exceed 3.5/3.6kg. I began taking long walks, took pineapples, zobo, downloaded some labor dance videos. But all it gave me was false contractions. The real deal wasn't here. I began getting scared, because baby was packing on weight, reducing my chances of a Vbac. July 19th Thursday, i decided to walk longer than usual. When I got home, I began having severe cramp extending to my lower back. We monitored it till 12am but it was getting intense. I was literally crawling on the floor. So we rushed down to the hospital. As soon as we go there, the yeye contractions disappeared. They did a CTG test and said I wasn't having contractions. So I was sent back. Kai! Second time. This time, my mum said she wouldn't step out of the house again until she sees baby's head coming out. Lol |
LEEMAH50:Oh no!!! So sorry for your loss. This is so sad! |
benny2015:Do you have liebherr small freezer? |

FloraEC:It's okay. We give up. You win ![]() *pulls her aside* Ermmm, as for the contraction ehn, ermmm, can you blow some my way asap? I don tire to carry this belle. Please don't let cappo Comtem2011 see this

tatacherie:I think your baby is just a little lower than the standard size chart. Just try and increase your protein intake, eat healthy. This is the time when baby will pack on the weight. But I wouldn't worry too much though, as ultrasounds can be a bit off sometimes. Just see your doc and hear from him first |
BarrONLS:Personally, baby hanger is extremely useful for me. Because sometimes the clothes might not get dried on time before nightfall, so instead of packing them off the line, I just carry the baby hanger to my verandah and take it out again the next day to dry completely. Its more convenient, in my opinion, not like its wrong to use normal clothing line |
FloraEC:And you just couldn't resist gloating. Troublemaker ![]() |
talltosyne:Awwwwwwww! My cappo has ported!!! I was just about asking why you've been MIA. Congratulations on safe delivery. See our handsome prince! First August baby is here. Whoop whoop! I'm coming right behind you. I've also been having the pubis pain with a lot of irregular contractions. FloraEC will not let us hear word now ![]() |
FloraEC:Isnor me o. Its baby. Me sef i'm tired of having false contractions. Baby is just doing hide and seek with mama. I have given her quit notice but she is still bent on staying a bit longer in her duplex |
comtem2011:My baby is trying to bake a little more. She is applying lipstick and finishing powder ![]() |
comtem2011:When I saw 3 mentions, I know it must be from you and FloraEC ![]() |
Yuneehk:This is how I make mine: In a clean bowl, add all your dry ingredients (sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, pinch of salt, nutmeg, margarine at room temperature). Mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk your egg and add your milk. Pour into your flour mixture, mix thoroughly with hands until the batter is smooth and stretchy. Cover and set aside for a few minutes. If you want the rock hard buns sold in the streets, make sure your batter is thick. The thicker the batter, the easier it is to mold into perfect round balls. I don't like very hard buns so my batter is always light. NB: I use lots of milk in mine because I love rich pastries. But you can leave out the milk(replace with warm water) and even leave out the eggs, as you wish. Update: Old picture of buns I made some months back. My buns are usually shapeless because I prefer using a light batter rather than a thick one.

jummiefoodie:Thank you jare. Don't mind haters like liftedhands. Maybe because they know I don't really like puffpuff. If it was buns, I would have hidden it all in my room |

Liftedhands:See how you want to disgrace me on National TV ehn ![]() |
jummiefoodie:And you ladies just made me vex and fry my own puffpuff too . Food section won't wound me o.Picture loading.... |
Tellemall:Did you read the whole epistle from the beginning? Did you see the deadly insults he also dished out to people here? What if those people also attempt to commit suicide over his brutal words? Or you think he is the only one going through a phase in his/her life? What is wrong is wrong, no sugarcoating. Those people trying to be soft with him are doing so because they have a humane side. Nobody is happy to see a fellow human commit suicide. There is no need to be raining abuses on anyone here over food matter. You can always waka pass if something doesn't suit you. Let's stick to our food matter biko. |
comtem2011:Hehehehehe. My darling cappo. You know i'm loyal ![]() |
Djbond:Wowwwww! Congratulations to your family. Please send our greetings to her and your newborn!!! |
Adayoung:First things I usually buy is what is on my hospital list. Extremely important. |
Rofemiguwa, your BS just made me burn my rice. I read it over and over again. Its just like a movie Ive also been having false contractions and severe pain in my pelvis that feels like menstrual cramps. But when I sleep, it goes away. The timing is irregular. Abeg make I nor born for house too o |
StrongWoman333:I couldn't stop laughing. A lot of these things actually have no effect on baby. But the truth is, that trouser thing showed me o. I was always wearing trousers though the band isn't tight but elastic. One woman made me stop immediately, saying it might prevent baby from dropping. After I did, I noticed that in the next few weeks her head was coming down to my pelvis. That was when I started waddling. Though I didn't want to believe her, but she said I can see the evidence for myself. She asked me to stick to gowns and leggings ![]() |
Hannydimples:Oh my!!! He is just too cute. Such a handsome boy. No wonder he took his time to bake very well. I can't stop staring. Congratulations on safe delivery. May he continually be a blessing to your family |
Djbond:There is no reason to fear. Estimated due dates (EDD) calculated from late pregnancy scans can be incorrect. Her due date can get less accurate the more pregnant she gets. Doctors usually work with your EDD calculated using your (LMP) Last Menstrual Period. Scan done within the first two-three months of the pregnancy are usually more accurate. If she doesn't remember her last menstrual period date, then the doctor relies on the EDD given by the very first scan she did. But if her EDD dates now are wildly apart from her EDD previously calculated, as in, if the difference between both dates is too much, then you should talk to your doctor. But I don't think you have any reason to fret. It happens to almost all pregnant women. The last scan I did gave me July 7th as my EDD, compared to my original EDD of August 2nd. The reason for the huge difference is because my baby's fetal length is really long. The sonographer said she is really tall. And fetal length is one of the factors used in calculating EDD. So it messed up my date. So please tell wifey to relax ehn ![]() |
