Politics › Why Has Olisa Metuh Been Silent? by Mixty(op): 7:44pm On Feb 09, 2016*. Modified: 9:06pm On Feb 09, 2016 |
I asked once again...why has Metuh been silent since he was released from bail? This is a man that will never shy away from offering constructive criticism against the PMB led administration. He was a very active mouthpiece of the largest opposition party in Nigeria, PDP. Now, he is just a docile onlooker in the state of affairs of Nigeria. Is opposition politics finally dead in Nigeria? We need a vibrant opposition to challenge this current APC government to perform. If Oliseh has chosen the path of silence, he should resign so that another vibrant man can emerge as the chief spokesperson for PDP. The beauty of democracy is effective opposition. Democracy must live!

Politics › Recent Supreme Court Judgements - International Embarrassment by Mixty(op): 12:05am On Feb 04, 2016 |
I am not an APC groupie. Neither am I a PDP zombie. I have been a strong critic of the Buhari govt. I have opened threads to lambast the current APC government.
However. The truth must be told. It is shameful that the supreme court will affirm elections that both the national and international communities have condemned for the mindless rigging that the marred the election.
Two case studies are the Rivers and akwa ibom state governorship elections that were marred with electoral malpractices. both the tribunal and the court of appeal validated the fact thar bothe elections were rigged without an iota of conscience. yet the supreme court shamelessly validated those rigged elections to the surprise of Nigerians and the world at last.
The supreme court judgement of late has become a national and international embarrassment. And our highest court in the land is beginning to lose their reputation.
The supreme court is beginning to emerge as the greaest threat to free and fair elections in Nigeria.

Buhari is a dictator that can not simply accept criticism in good faith. The man is worse than Abacha. no wonder, He said Abacha didn't steal a damn while he is busy receiving Abacha's loot from Switzerland |

Politics › Has Metuh Finally Been Silenced By Buhari's Administration? by Mixty(op): 7:35am On Feb 03, 2016 |
The Oliseh Metuh I know before his incarceration by PMB can not stay more than a few days before releasing a critical and damning statement on the Buhari administration. But it seems Buhari's tyranny has finally surpressed him. He seems to been cowed. He has been conspicuously silent since he resumed work as PDP publicity secretary.
Is this how the new dictator in town called Buhari plans to silence and oppress all forms of opposition? |

Politics › Re: CNN Refers To Nigeria As A North African Country by Mixty(op): 8:29pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
I wont waste a second to read all the poo you wrote below. I leave you to your folly trying to rationalize the mistake of CNN. Remain psychologically oppressed to the white man! [s] ZUBY77: Well, it's good that you brought this up.
North, South, East and West are the geographical measurement tools here.. Right? So you can't just come up with Lagos as an example because no mater how you divide Nigeria Horizontally or vertically, Lagos would never be in the northern part. Agreed? And Katsina would never be in the southern part unless of course you decided to turn the map upside down, which is still a valid context depending on what you want to achieve. Open your mind bro.. Nothing is all that absolute.
When I said you should broaden your mind, I meant that since the four points happened to be the tool for location measurement, I could simply decide to use two out of the four depending on the message I want to pass. If I use West and East, Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia will be in the east. Right...
Senegal, Ghana Mali and Guinea will be in the western part of Africa. Right or wrong.. You can't just come up with any example.
However like I said in my second post here, Nigeria is in West Africa. There is no doubt about that. We all know that from childhood. But if for some reasons or any reason, someone decided to use two points (North and South) out of the four, that would definitely put Nigeria some where..
And judging by the rules of equality, Nigeria should be in the northern part of the divide..
BTW, why would everything be made easy for you? The only reason why Africans fail international exams so much is simply because we focus too much on what the teacher said. [/s] |
Politics › Re: CNN Refers To Nigeria As A North African Country by Mixty(op): 8:08pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
ZUBY77: Alright... So if it was specified, would that have put Nigeria in North Africa?
I asked this question because I know Nigeria is still in West Africa.
Secondly, I want you to broaden your mind to interpret things whenever you can because the reason why we are still at the back of everything is that we only believe what we were told..
Like Jesus walking on water, I am sure you believe that too. Nah.... When you read an article or comprehension, you read from perspective of defined and standard meanings acceptable by all. Regional locations are defined. They are never subject to personalized interpretations. Anybody then can argue that Lagos is in northern Nigeria, or Kogi is in southern Nigeria based on their own subjective interpretations. Articles are subject to individual interpretations as a whole but not on standard terminologies. By your same standards , you may argue that some Nigerians are white just because they are very fair in complexion or they are albinos. Does that make sense to you also? |
Politics › Re: CNN Refers To Nigeria As A North African Country by Mixty(op): 7:53pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
Kennydoc: The term North Africa is a defined region, and isn't subject to individual interpretations. If you want to refer to countries in the northern half of Africa, then it must be aptly specified. Zuby77....this is clear enough. Did you go to school at all? Did you do a little Geography. If you did, then your geography teacher needs to give you a refund of part of your fees for being such a failure in passing across knowledge. |
Politics › Re: CNN Refers To Nigeria As A North African Country by Mixty(op): 7:50pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
ZUBY77: And I am supposed to agree to your judgement because you are? God or his son.. Which one?
You can just come up with superior argument because I am sure I know geography better than you. Because your argument is flawed and nonsensical. QED |
Politics › Re: CNN Refers To Nigeria As A North African Country by Mixty(op): 7:40pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
You are spitting rubbish for the sake of it. Kennydoc is right. Case closed. ZUBY77: I see your point. However, let's stretch this a little more. Before Nigeria adopted the divide and rules tactics after the war which gave birth to 12 State and eventually ended with SS, SE, SW, NE, NC and NW, we only had Western Region, Eastern Region, Northern Region and middle belt.. do you agree with me? it was that simple.
From Sokoto at the extreme North West to Borno at the extreme North East were all defined as northern region. Right?
So why couldn't Lagos and Cross River be in the same region? I believe driving from Sokoto to Borno in the north axis was and still is longer in distance when compared to Lagos to Cross River in the South axis. Right?
Can you now understand that the Tribal context was at work here. So my point is that human beings divide this things, sometimes based on context.
When I was studying about North, South, East and West, I never knew Central was part of the four. |

Helloflife: We started dating last year november. We haven't gone intimate yet and he doesn't even pressurize me. Truth is, i don't love him, and i think i made a mistake accepting to date him. I've found out we have literally nothing in common. Throughout our relationship, i've never said the word "i love you" to him. He called last night and asked me if i love him and i couldn't give a direct answer cause i didn't want him to get hurt. Dear romancelanders, whats the best way i could tell him how i really feel? You are just 17 years old and you are already talking abt love and heartbreaks at your age. What do you know about love sef? You better leave Nairaland romance section and go face your studies See her post about a year ago: Helloflife: I decided to create this account on nairaland to share my pains. Iv been living a hell of a life. Im just 16years yet iv gone thru a lot sum adults havent. My biological dad has been a terror ever since i got to noe my self. He beats up my mum everytym he has the chance and now he has shifted his attention to me. He always beats me and shouts at me for no reason. He doesnt even allow us to explain ourselves. Im the only child of my mum but he has other children out of wedlock (who do not live with us). He always blames me for everytyn and anytym hez angry,he vents his anger on my and my mum. I write this post with great pain cos today was one of his usual. He blamed me for losing sumtyn, n he didnt even allow me to explain before he started shouting at me. Im emotionally downcast. When i cried he started shouting that he doesnt buy my tears. If my mum tries to talk to him he shuts her off. I always cry when im accused wrongly of sumtyn because im soft hearted. And the most painful thing is that today he said i have all the qualities he hates in a person i feel lyk dying. Lyk sleeping and not waking up ever again. Im lost, can i ever be found? Please nairalanders advice me because i dont noe wat to do. I cant even talk to him because m very scared of him. |

Naturallyme: Nice one op. i am a product of the two systems HND & BSC and i can categorically state the difference. HND is good just like BSC if you really know what you are doing. As per conversion from HND to BSC, please if age is not on your side, weigh your options, it takes time but if you woud'nt mind or u have a regular sponsor you can go for it. if you are to settle with HND, please at least have a good grade at least upper credit with practical experience. after school , learn a skill in line with your chosen field. Engineering students will understand. Good Luck. I see many HND graduates better than BSC in terms of skill acquisition and all. Next time learn to read before posting. The MB you used in typing this long b**shiit would have been used for better purposes if you had just spared a few mins to read through the OP's post. Don't be like that fool called brainless sagamite who types all kinds of gibberish meaningless to everyone. |
