Jesus came to die for mankind that was the reason he was never involved in things that mattered LESS ! kITA TITA: These pontificating pastors are not winning souls. They are poaching members from established denominations. The Catholic Church, Anglican and other older denominations had pastors that rode bicycles and trekked to the hinterland to establish churches. They brought medical clinics and established schools that the children of every commoner could attend. The later day pastors should realize that there are still grounds to cover in the rural areas. And some of these rural areas remain inaccessible by motor vehicles and definitely not by jet planes.

I came on board this site( NL)to evangelize but it seems the fellows here are not ''evangelizable'' !

Why are you devoting so much energy to defend these so called men of god Is it not obvious the oledepo is exploiting his members and due to his pride and arrogance he is even deny these same members the credit they deserve in helping to build the university The way it is oledepo just sees his members as dummies to be used and exploited at will. Also stop playing with words, whether he used tithes, offerings, seeds or pledges the money came from the members and the statement he made dis honestly gives the impression that the members did not contribute in building the university.

I am not defending them like you think neither am i against them ! His name is Oyedepo but u call him always oledepo.That alone,i know that u dnt only hate his acts but also his person.If u are a christian,u shouldn't do that !
Tithe is different from offering and they are both different from pledges ! So am not playing with words here. If truly he said he didn't use tithe and offering money,why do u doubt him ? Give him that benefit of the doubt pls. Has he come out to tell you that he did not use pledge money or donations from church members for the establishment of CU ? Just wait until he come out to say that.
I dnt think that he sees the members as dummies who are only good to be used and xploited at will and does not want to give them credit as u stated but HE knows that the members shouldn't take the GLORY but God should. The bishop stated this in a release made available to Tribune Church. “We are being criticised for buying jets! But they forgot that before we started to buy jets, we were winning souls in thousands and millions, turning men and women from darkness to light. We were transforming lives, giving them beauty for ashes. We were empowering people, equipping them with the revelation knowledge of God’s word that lifts men out of the pit of poverty, to the pinnacle of grace and dominion! We were empowering the poor, not only giving them fish to eat but also teaching them how to fish. We were building schools that were giving quality education to the people, empowering them mentally to become prominent (these include those throwing stones at us now!). We were building universities. We were transforming our society, and changing our nation, one soul at a time,” he said.

Oke wondered what Nigeria would have been if not for the efforts of Pentecostalism in the country. “They have seen a few jets. They ain’t seen nothing yet! More of us will yet buy and maintain our jets, because, by the mercy of God, we have been given the wisdom to do so. And we are willing to teach the nation, if they will listen to us, rather than throw stones.

Anyway,it could be that some people brought it to his know or he read on national dailies of the people's views or opinion or he perceived that people are saying he used tithe money for the establishment of the CU. And he is saying that he didn't use tithe money while trying to enlighten the congregants on an issue ! But may be if he sees other talks regarding pledges and offerings,donations and others,he may tell us if we care to know whether it's from free will donations and others !

They have different vision but one goal. They are all doing God's work. They are affecting the lives of God's people any how you look at it. I understand if the schools were to be very cheap so that all can attend whether it is of standard or not. And i also understand that the schools are expensive and of good standard in all ramification hence the influx of students ! The pple there are not Ghost and the parents are happily paying the fees for their wards and children becos of of the best they are getting !
Who knows,another university might come up that will be an all comers affairs with the vision captioned ''low or no fees to accomodate all'' But i doubt it's quality expecially in this expensive world of today !
