Good day, my people. I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate forum for this subject, but I'd appreciate it if someone could assist me. I'm currently in the United Kingdom, and I intend to bring my parents to the UK to attend my graduation ceremony in July. Is anyone familiar with the procedure for obtaining a visit visa? Kindly help a brother.

You can use this link https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor to process a visitor visa.

Thank you, Mogatti

But refusals usually do not come with a vignette on the passport. Nothing apparent is imprinted on the passport. Only a refusal letters is issued.

Could you be more descriptive on where the refusal reference number can be seen?

Thanks in anticipation

Yes sir I am aware refusals just come with a letter and no vignette. In addition to the letter they usually write the refusal reference number with a pen at the last passport page. I was refused visitor visa sometime in 2008 and they wrote it with a pen at the last page of my passport. For you it may not be the last page but check through all the pages in your passport which was used to apply you should see it unless they have stopped doing that

Hello, everyone... Pls does anyone have an idea of how I can get a copy of my UK refusal letter from the embassy, I lost the copy given to me from 2013 and the school I am applying to said I have to submit it before I am.issued CAS.

Check your passport, most times if you are refused there should be a refusal reference number written on your passport. If you have your refusal reference number and state it on your application that should be ok.

Please is Procurement and supply chain management a good course to do. Will it give me an opportunity for visa sponsorship in the UK?

Absolutely, that is my field and there are loads of job with sponsorship. You can specialise in public procurement if you like which is quite similar to public procurement in Nigeria but with few variations here and there but something you can always learn. Alternatively you can focus on supply chain management and be like a supply chain analyst working with supply chain data. There are lots of opportunities for both. You can get in touch with me via email if you like.

Hi, I plan on applying for a course with placement so i can bring my dependents during my placement year. Do you know if this is possible?

Yes it is. During your placement year you will still have a tier 4 visa so you can bring them as dependants.

Fellow Nigerians, studying in the UK is expensive. Using the student visa route (Tier 4) as a 'Japa' option will only leave sour taste in your mouth and that of others if no adequate prep.

Please do your homework and prepare adequately if you must go. Do not make the whole process and experience hard for others.

Prior to now schools ask for little or nothing as deposit and issue CAS without P O F but now, all that has changed with students unable to meet financial responsibilities and getting stranded

Prior to now, rents are required on a weekly (students accommodation) and monthly basis but in recent times, landlords/property owners now require 6 months payment and a guarantor for new occupants in some parts of UK.

No be by force to go UK o. Finland and other Scandinavian countries offer mostly tuition free degrees.
And if you are an agent, first question to ask your potential client is if financial capable to run the process.

This is not to discourage anyone. Your inefficiency @ any point in time will affect others.

After all, some folks (Doctors, Nurses, Engineers, and other professional) are good ambassadors of 9ja in US where we are recognized as the most educationally advanced people.
Now in the US, employers don't think twice to give Nigerian professionals jobs even to the disdain of 'foundational' black Americans

Thank you very much sir. I know a lot of people will not want to take this piece serious but you have made a lot of sense. Please people should do their research properly and make wise decisions. Most people are rushing to apply for social works, the question is do you have the passion for the job and also do you know what is required of a social worker.

[quote author=babajide107 post=110774369]Please I’m new here.I would love start admission process for msc in chemistry. What I don’t understand is the pof. Is the school that requires that or embassy and since the school said I can pay 4k as initial deposit and split the rest later. I would also want to know about the pof can a family friend do that for me [/quote

You use pof to apply for ur visa so its ideally for the embassy however these days some unis ask for pof before they issue you with a CAS.

I have to ask. Does 1 year placement translate to increase in POF as a result of one's living cost for the extra year of job placement?

Not at all sir/ma. Your proof of funds should be shown for 9mnths. So the amount you present for a placement or non placement course is same.

Courses with placement isn't attractive to many peeps again because of graduate visa and more so, getting a place for placement is a full time job like job hunting as your school might not help or refer you unless it's a specialized course like medicine n it's allied courses

I do not agree with you. Placement courses can help prolong ur stay as it is two years compared to a one year programme. As per securing a job, I agree when you say it can be difficult to secure a placement position but the thing is you do not only have to apply for placement or internship positions. Some companies actually employ placement students even though the jobs are not advertised as placement opportunities and then retain the students after placement. The key is apply to placement opportunities and also other graduate entry roles.

Hello house, please what is the probability of getting into college as a 35year old. I did arts here but want to start over in the medical line.

If the college gives me am offer will visa be granted? Any information would be appreciated

When you say college do you mean University or actual college? As per your age you can get admissions to study at both undergraduate and post graduate level in the medical line at a University.

oh thank you so much I wasn’t aware of this because on the school website it says they will help you apply for placement plus
will I be paid during my placement year also will my placement year and will my placement year work hours be limited to 20hrs.

Whilst on placement you can work full time, the 20hr limit does not apply to placement students provided your university is aware of the organization you are doing ur placement with. Universities provide support but you will do your applications and attend interviews as normal before securing a placement job

Majority of them don’t always find placement for students, they would just support you by sending you vacancies but that doesn’t guarantee you would get it.
As for payment, companies do pay for placement.
I’m not sure about the time limit

VERY, VERY TRUE, always go for top unis if you intend on working in the uk after your studies.
they are quite expensive but they also give you an edge in the job market.

My friend, uni you attend in the UK has got nothing to do with getting a job. What you know and can bring to the table is what determines if you get a job. Employers are after what you have to offer not what degrees or uni you attended.

You are very right, I dnt understand why someone would say going to an expensive uni would make it easy to get a job. It all boils down to what you have done which is your work experience and employability skills, also once you get the opportunity to be interviewed , it depends on how well you can convince the interviewer that you are the right candidate.

The only issue with this is that it is YOUR OPINION and not what the guidelines says.

Does it even sound right to you that you are referring to a Main applicant ( who has a DEPENDANT ) as child?

You are using the word ‘child’ to describe a fully matured man who not only has a wife, but the wife is his DEPENDANT.

Like I said, that is entirely your own personal ‘common sense opinion/interpretation’ but that is not what the guideline says.

Whether you are 100 years old, you are still a child of your parents and this issue has nothing to do with personal opinion it is clear if u critically look at it, a parent can support their child and provide a letter to back that up and if their child has dependants who happens to be under the child then automatically they can support them. If you agree that a parent can support their child whether his is 100 years or a matured man as u said then that's it. Am nt here to claim I know it all or take sides or go back and forth but the fact is a parent can support their child and if he has dependants automatically it can cover them but it's better to have d funds in the main applicants account which co ERS for him and his dependants and my broda I rest my case.
