Spot on!!! God bless you I'm sure blaize77 is encouraged Nnystc: Dear blaize777 I'm not happy reading your recent posts (bolded below+the other where you said your tears have run out)! So perhaps you need some hard truths (I realise we are Nigerians anyway, na strong word na im dey enter us pass soft words) Are you a FTM? Yes? Then I think I understand where you're coming from ). But then... True story: When I had my first child, i had chicken pox in week 39, had to be induced in week 42. Then he was distressed in the womb, passed meconium inside my womb, apgar score of 3 or so. On coming out he was diagnosed with some nonsense congenital ish, and given 3 months to live. As a FTM I was inconsolable, rolling on the floor crying, asking myself who have I offended, who hates me this much? Why must mine be different? Long story short, because I would not let go and let God, I ended up with a partial stroke. That's what my depression got me o. So I became a casualty.
Q- Was I able to help my kid then? A- Even an onuku knows the answer to that...
I was barred from breastfeeding, even from holding the child. I added to the problem on ground.
But after all this my eye opened (spiritually tho, physically I was a mess... I looked like a freak sideshow!)
What did I do after that, I had to painstakingly cast my mind back to how good God had been to me in the past... All the strong things He had brought me through... You know when bible said "And David encouraged himself in the Lord " that was me right there. You know what I did? I would pick the child up, look sternly at baby and start speaking... -I carried you in my womb, this womb (slapping my stomach! ) for 9 months -Those 9 months were not for nothing oh. -I am your mother! You must listen to me and heed my voice -You shall not die, must not die, you're not permitted to die! - You will live. -Rise up and respond to treatment Can't remember all the things I told this child biko. Pickin jus' dey look me.
I was declaring like mad... you know ministering angels don't respond to tears, they respond to errands you send them on. I was dishing out orders concerning my baby and myself.
This child given 3 months to live is a big kid now, the next blink he'll be ready for secondary school... I still order him around, I just even ordered a batch of koboko for him the other day
My sister, be of good courage. I still maintain there is NOTHING God cannot do. He's just waiting for you to touch heaven with your faith.
I remember when I went through mine, I had periods of doubt and I would still say "Lord I believe you, but the circumstances are fighting my faith, Pls help my unbelief!" All this I just spoke about happened here in Lagos oh! Where equipment nor dey, not to talk of better doctors. But God sent help...
E come be you wey dey Yankee! Remember that Some people are back home who wish they had the opportunity to rack up NICU bills to save a life, but God chose you to get the visa. Maybe that visa was issued for "such a time as this" according to Mordecai.
So why am I writing this epistle? So you will brace yourself. Your matter will be resolved.
Start figuring out where to organise koboko for when li'l mama will grow into lil drama queen They always do!
Frank Edwards song says: My God is still changing lives He's still alive doing good He is the source of your strengthhhhh My God is still changing lives
Changing livesss. .. (somebody help me sing jor! )
E-hugs!
Make I go check if this strike still dey happen today... |

@ biollar 1 I feel you.. if you're like me,you'd probably look 41 weeks pregnant by now.. I'm guessing you don't need to look slimmer really( the tummy is long!). In addition to full maternity jeans you might want to try a blouse that's peplumish i.e. free around the tummy and then wear a free jacket, black or otherwise. I may be wrong but hey- no harm in trying diiferent outfits in front of the mirror and choose whichever one makes you 'comfy' #my2cents |

KingAL07: Hi @Momo, I don't think you need to put the hospital name as organisation and contact person if you have got family / friends you are staying with. I applied for B2 visa with hubby about a month and half ago and we were granted. In the place of contact person , we filled our family friends' details and organisation we left the field empty. We went with our burden of proof and the only thing the VO requested for was hospital correspondence which we passed acrossed to him, in the pile it had the evidence of deposit we had made so far and he confirmed from us as well. I don't think you should fret. If you can start up correspondence with your intended hospital ASAP, it is best you do, otherwise as you have been advised be truthful with the VO and let him/her know you intend changing hospitals based on further research you are currently doing which is not yet finalised.
All the best Thanks! I do have correspondence both hospital and doctor but didn't know I could slot in the info right there ( BTW sorry everyone my phone has been acting 'abiku-ish' I must have posted my story a million times!). I covet your testimony and we will go with all correspondence. Thanks again |

vcole: Is the hospital in the same state? Anyway fill a new ds160 form with the new doctor/hospital contact information. Submit it and get the confirmation page. Call the US consulate and explain that you had to modify some information on your earlier form and would like to change the ds160 number on your application/cgi page. Also ask if this would reflect a change on your appointment booking as well (I can't remember if it does). They would ask you to send an email with a scanned copy of your passport biodata page and new ds160 confirmation page and call them back after you do. It'll take about 48 hrs to change to the new ds160 number after this. Wow..I filled DS 160 form for medical visa and didn't see any part that asked for hospital details oh! I have hospital and Dr correspondence.. Please is something wrong cos I'd rather fill another form than be denied cos of that.. #icantshout Cc Ladyguinevere and other gurus |

Congrats! However could you highlight what you think you did differently @ application/interview just so we can learn fro your experience.. Zumabeezle: Hi everyone. The last time i posted on here was when i did renewal via dropbox but was called for interview and denied a visa. I reapplied and was interviewed a month later. And to the glory of God i was granted the visa. I was already heavily pregnant so i had to travel immediately. I didn't get PTA in Abuja. I travelled at 34 weeks 6days via airfrance. At d airport, i had to do another fit to fly at port health. Requested wheelchair so journey was easy. Got into the USA via Houston POE. wheelchair service took me to d front. Was immediately sent for secondary inspection. I had just 2000usd on me. I had paid hospital and doctor's fees before i got in so i just showed them my receipts. They were nice and friendly. Two of them interviewed me at d same time. It was fun for me. I invited them to Nigeria so i could give one of them a Nigerian wife. Lol. Got stamped in for 6months. He however told me to come with my receipts every time i travel coz they will always ask me. And that they know about nairaland. That Nigeria is d only country that has such a forum. I laughed and said sharing information is free and legal. He said well that's true. That we should just tell our pple to pay their bills. |

I highly covet this testimony for my upcoming interview. Amen! Congratulations are in order nupital: Hello everyone..
I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone on this thread.
Particularly @Firsttymum @Favoredgal @ladyguinivere @Omodadi @nobody @Vamum @evemama @kemmytinio @happytbaby @vcole @twingirls .You guys have been tremendously helpful. My wife and her mom attended their visa interviews together yesterday at the Lagos embassy and were successful.
(The queue at the embassy was extremely long....seems everyone wants to leave the country...we were there at 7.30 am even though their time wasn't till 9am so we had to wait for a while) (their entire interview was for about 4 mins...VO spent a lot of time typing)
In the spirit of giving back, here's the transcript below:
DW: pointing to mom and saying "we are together " VO: how are you related? DW: she is my mom VO: please pass your passports.... (while receiving the passports) how old are you (VO asked DW) DW: xx years VO: Where in the US would you be travelling to? DW: Houston, Texas VO: what is the purpose of your travelling? DW: to have my baby and vacation VO: (to mum) ma'am what do you do? MUM: I am into trading..(states what she trades in) VO: (to DW) where do you work? DW: I work at xxxxx VO: How much are you budgeting for the trip? DW: Between 12k to 15k USD depending on whether it is VD or CS VO: have you made any deposits? DW: No we haven't. Doctor said there is no need to until we arrive for our appointment VO: how do you intend paying for your bills? DW: my mom and I intend to source for PTA, would use Form A where we can and then source the rest from the parallel market if need be VO: have you travelled outside Nigeria before? DW: Tanzania for honeymoon with hubby last year and neighbouring rep of Benin and Ghana. VO: (Types...................types....) okay, at this point your visa has been approved.
Issues the almighty white paper and circles the address for pick up....gives advice on how we need to get enough funds to prove at the US border that we can sufficiently pay the bills........etc etc.....advises that we also keep all receipt of payments well.... (at that point DW mind don dey board plane and was dancing around in her head)
VO: so you both have a good day and they replied with all gladness
P.S - The particular VO that interviewed them got annoyed and was screaming at a lady before they called them to the VO's cubicle. But we thank the Lord that he touched her heart.

LadyGuinivere: Probably because you got a date bfore completing and submitting ds 160. Email the embassy to swap the correct with the wrong ds 160. Theyl ask you to send some info to verify ID .Takes an average of 2-3 days. No I completed all forms before booking the appointment. Logged onto my profile and added DH and Daughter. Though I noticed it kept rejecting DH's add on. Saying another profile existed?? Tried one last time and it went through. Is it same email as lagosNIV? |

You need to log in and change it, I'm suspecting it's the old DS160 number he may have used previously. If you go to the embassy, you won't be allowed to go in. Thanks for responding. I booked myself on the Internet! Every other information is correct except the ds 160#. I logged in now but can't seem to find the page that has ds 160 number.. So I just succeeded in booking an appointment! (sleepy eyes). My questions: 1. my appointment is scheduled for 31st may and the nearest appointment date is May 26th! (i was waiting for doc appointment and pricing to arrive in my sister's mail box, the doctors office doesnt correspond via email). Do I absolutely need to reschedule before interview date? (i really do not want to go thru the stress of starting all over with that merry go round if i can avoid it. ) 2. there were only 8 slots left on this particular date 26th , DH was saying a 9.30 appointment is too late and may reduce changes of being issued a visa! I know there are plenty experienced people on this thread biko pray tell me is this true?? if so let me reschedule to another date oo. Anyone who has answers help a sister out! THanks |
