it is a residence permit but not a permanent one if that makes sense. Resident permits are usually given for stays longer than 6 months e.g Students also have residence permits .You will only qualify for permanent residency after a number of years and meeting the conditions set for you.Hope that helps.

If you have a residence permit (plastic card, not visa sticker on your passport) in another country, you will have to fill in the details there.

So one that only have sticker on passport have to fill No? BC until the person gets to uk, that is when the person collects his residence permit card
