Why do u say that 4yrs it a long time to gamble? is it because it is PDP, after all did we not gamble with PDP for 8yrs and what happened? The whole country is in a big mess, some would even suggest that the country is in worse shape now than during the millitary days. I think you get the whole concept wrong. This is not a call to Nigerians to gamble, but a call for CHANGE. and by the way why are you so convinced that Pat and his party would not do well if elected? And now u tell me what MR Yar has done in his state that makes him stand out, some would have argued for OBJ when he took over, but llok at the country now. There is a saying that the Fact that one has not been publicly called a thief does not mean he is not a thief.

Only time we tell

My Broda Afam,

Go and look at the way things are done in other democracies that we are coping, altho Naija is unique. Do we stick to one party cos the man comming in next is not corrupt, but his brothers, that can and will influence him are? Like I said to you, if you can have the Guvnor of Delta state being nominated for best guvnor award then what is new in people not pointing fingers are Mr Yar. What does he represent is my question, and I am sorry the answer is not CHANGE. PDP has had 8yrs of eating the cherry, I think it is time someone else has a chance ok.

You avoided my comment on the problems VW were having globaly, might it have been related to VON?

God Bless Nigeria.

Please everyone VOTE WISELY.

Debosky,

If you had read my last post, you probably would not be saying this. Pat has been doing what he can, but there is proof that he is not being promoted by the media. Go and have a look at Wednesdays Thisday newspaper, back page. The man has been working very hard, and I will admit he has met a lot of challenges. I was with a lady this morning and we were discussing the Election and she said that Pat was at their church last weekend. I think that is good. Or you expecting to adopt the same kind of stratergy these other guys are doing? going around throwing money about and hiring people. The man is using the money his supporters have given him wisely.

And by the way, I do not see how not being very visible = to Arrogance

Afam,

you still think that you have a full understanding of the problem in Nigeria. Do you really think the issue is about mving power back to the North? And may I point out the so called seasoned politicians have done nothing, but get experience in looting the country. The fact that no one has pointed fingers @ Yar does not make him a better candidate than Pat. Th bigger picture to look at, is what PDP as a whole has done in Nigeria, the answer NOTHING. and I think it is time the people vote them out of power.

The fact the VON had problems does not automatically interpret to PAt being a bad Leader. VW globally is suffering.

All I will say is that Nigerians should be tuned into the Presidential debate on 1st April.

Yar Dua in my opinion does not represent change. If the only reason u are voting him in is cos n one has yet pointed the finger, then you need to go look at the last Thisday award. Do you know that people actually nominated Delta state gorvenor as govt of the year. What a crazy society
PoliticsRe: Your Vote Is Your Might by monkeyleg: 11:59am On Mar 22, 2007
Afam,

I am a bit concerned that tho u tend to critisize, you never offer up any solutions. This has always been a problem in Nigeria. A lot of people like you claim to know what the problem is with Nigeria, but never offer up a solution. If you so think that Pat is not the man, then offer advice on who is best to lead Nigerians. Tony, and myself have made up our mind, and are convinced that Pat is the person we need now, and for me, I am going to vote for CHANGE. That is what we are asking people to do. VOTE FOR CHANGE.

UP PAT. Everyone SHOUT PAT FROM PRESIDENT.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 11:47am On Mar 22, 2007
There was an articke on the back page of yesterdays thisday. Someone was complaining that tho Pat was doing all the right things in term of campaign, that he was not getting the sort of press coverage he deserves. There is not doubt that the press has been bought over by those who have the cash. That is why foruma like this can be very useful. I strongly believe that money s hindering his campaign too, so for those of us who believe in what Pat stands for let us give him all the support we can ok. Please guys vote wisely and vote for change.

God bless you all
PoliticsRe: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by monkeyleg: 3:32pm On Mar 16, 2007
ALL SAY PAT UTOMI FOR PRESIDENT. Please you guys should vote for him, let us all give Change a Chance. Pat represent a shift from the norm, maybe maybe that is the difference Nigeria so desparately needs. Please people let us not miss this chance, if not it is another 8yrs in HELL
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 1:48pm On Mar 16, 2007
Tony,

we must push for Pat and Nigerians. The truth must be told, let us convince our family and friends that the time for change is now. We can never get a clearer indication than what is heppening now. Nigerian must wake up, and for those Skeptics, the writing is all over the WALL. SHINE YOUR EYE
PoliticsRe: Buhari May Not Contest April Election by monkeyleg: 5:28pm On Mar 15, 2007
does anyone smell that Pat Utomi might now have a chance? Things are begining to shape up in his favour, why must all cease this opportunity to promote him
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 12:36pm On Mar 15, 2007
Tony,

I am still wondering if there is anything we can do to help Pat? I do my best by campaigning for him, I tell everyone I meet why I think they should vote him. We must all come together and act now. For those who do not think he stands a chance, please offer this site an alternative. I always have problem with people who think that one cannot succeed, but never offer a solution or an alternative. It is very simplistic to have an opinion about something, but extremely clever in my estimate to profess a solution. For those of us who live in Nigeria, we must take our destiny into our hands, Nigeria is truelly ripe for a change, and I would beg to disagree that the time in not now. For those who do not think that Pat is qualified enuff, please suggest whom amongst the crop is fit to wear the cap? please who? is it Atiku, who does not believe in the health system and has to run abroad at the slightest mosquito bite or Yar Adua, who almost lost it at the slightest suggestion of pressure. Please who. I might remind people on here that those that performed in the current administration are those who we consider intellectuals, not the said seasoned politicians, that were only interested in looting this great country to the ground. It is the likes of Pat that made the difference and I am convinced that when he gets in there, not if he gets in there, but when, he will make the change that every single Nigerians, including the skeptic here have been crying and craving for.

God Bless Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Atiku Injured, Flown To London For Treatment by monkeyleg: 11:37am On Mar 15, 2007
I think this is enuff reason not to Vote for either Atiku or Yar Adua. These guys do not care about the common man. The common man must wisen up and stop voting for money, but change. We must act now and vote good people like Pat Utomi, if not we are doomed in this country.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi's Visibilty: My Concern by monkeyleg: 10:07pm On Mar 06, 2007
Lets not forget that Pat does not have that much money to throw around, part of his strategy was to seek support from you and I.

I think there is still time to make effective change, but feedback must be given to him. Tony any way to get feedback to his team? We must act fast.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi's Visibilty: My Concern by monkeyleg: 9:14pm On Mar 06, 2007
I believe that Pat should not go about his Campaign the way the rest of the candidates are. He should act more intelligently. I would suggest a campaign of debate. Draw his opponents out to debate issues with him, that way he exposes the inadequacies of the rest.

I wonder why campaigns are not done this way, let the public hear you debate how u intend to resolve thier issues and that way make up thier mind. Also the govt should be looking to disqualify anyone opening throwing around money as part of thier campaign stratergy.

Just as you said Tony, we can all get involved in getting Pat elected. I am doing my best to make people I meet understand why they must vote right and vote Pat. My theory is that if 1Million Pat supporters can get 20 of thier friends to Vote Pat, that easily adds up to 21million votes. could make the change we so desperately seek, or maybe I am being a bit too simplistic
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 8:08pm On Mar 06, 2007
Afam,

Neither do I agree that letting the status quo will solve anything in Nigeria. I seriously doubt it would even guarantee the sort of stability you so suggest. The truth here is that this issue has to be brought out to the fore-front and discussed, and quite frankly that is what this gorvenment should have attempted to do this last 8yrs rather than dodge the main issues.

Wether we like it or not, Nigerians will need to take hold of the destiny of thier country, and vote right. Those who say Pat can not will, might be right, but I still believe in choosing right, and quite frankly except you have something that says he is not, in my estimate he is the best of the lot.

If w do not address this issue now, we will be faced with the same problem in 8yrs time. What I am asking Nigerian to seek this time around is a change, we must have a change if not I am very certain that Nigeria will be worse off in 8yrs time. To be frank the only possible compromise I can accept is an Utomi / Buhari candidacy. I am begining to believe that this might be a compromise worth considering, But maybe I am wrong.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 9:41pm On Mar 05, 2007
Hey Tony,

I am more concerned that Pat is not getting the sort of visibility he deserves. How can we enhance that?

As for North, South rotation, that might be the status quo, but what I believe is that the time for change is now. So Afam stop analyzing it the way you are. Reality also says that Nigerians are very hungry people right now and deserve a change. So forget all this reality bullshit and deal with the real issue on the ground, and that is how we can all come together for a change.

God help Nigeria
TravelRe: No Nigerians Welcome In Tanzania by monkeyleg: 8:03pm On Feb 28, 2007
The answer to this problem is good government. The most important decision that should be facing Nigerians here and abroud should be the forth-coming elections. We must all go out and vote for change. Put people there that know what they are doing, or I can assure you the sort of threatment we are receiving now would be increased 1o fold. Nigerians must wake up to the truth and act.

TravelRe: No Nigerians Welcome In Tanzania by monkeyleg: 7:37pm On Feb 27, 2007
Sad sad story, but very true. Nigerian go thru this sort of rubbish everyday for being Nigerian. I have even suffered the same in the hands of the British (Closet Racists). The way out of all this is good leadership that understands how to take care of its people and its own, and how to defend her citizens when need be.

We can right this wrong by voting the right people in the forth-coming elections. People with vision, a heart for Nigerians and great sense of purpose. Leaders that know how to serve thier people. Believe me "gabbage in, gabbage out"

Have a look at the thread "Pat Utomi for President"
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 5:55pm On Feb 24, 2007
In my opinion, there is never such a thing as a wasted vote. The way I see it is you vote for what you believe in. The truth about life is that good things never come cheap, neither do they come at the first time of asking.

Like I have always said. No one is going to change things for Nigerian, we have to do it ourselves, and if we believe that the time for change is now, then we should all do something about it, or I am afraid it is another 4/8yrs of no light, water, security, schools, hospitals, jobs, and down right suffering. So if Nigerians are comfortable with the status quo then I guess the answer in not to vote all.

WE have to go and look at how other countries that have had change have done it. Change never came from believing that it would never happen. Look at Georgia and South Africa to name but a few.

God help us all

Gamine,

Just out of curiosity, why did you not register? For those who by choice did not register, I hope you all realise that you have given up your right to complain about the state of our great nation.

For those who do not believe thier votes would count, you might just be surprised. The fight somethings is not easy, but that is what makes the victory very sweet.

Hey I was just thinking that in this wonderful period of digital technology, it would be easy to capture the whole election on mobile phone cameras, that way the opposition would think twice before rigging. The evidence would be there, and that way the govt would find it hard to deny that the elections were free and fair. I just have this feeling that it is not going to be business as usual.

For all those that believe we need a change, please stay strong, and vote for that change.

Guys, the fact of the matter is not if we think Pat would win, more if you are all dying for a change. Now if the Latter is your conviction then my appeal would be for everyone who genuinely wants a change to vote for a change. And quite frankly the sort of change anyone should be advocation in Nigeria right now is the sort of change a man like Pat can bring to the Party.

I heard his reply to the question about him being relatively new to the political scene, and the man answered the way I felt. Nigeria right now need a fresh pair of eyes to look at our problems.

TonyBlu, is there a way we can get more people involved in this debate / vision? I think this issue right now is getting far bigger than this forum. It we need to get people excited about the infinite possibilities that available with Pat, then it is my opinion that we got to go far beyond this forum.

I strongly believe Nigerians have suffered a lot, and the time for a change is now.

Debosky,

Just like Tonyblu, I will like to know a bit more about this "Political contact" you so refer to.

I think a lot of people who are skeptical about Pat's chances tend to compare his pedegree with the present set of politicians. I think the point here is that Nigeria is due a change from what is classified are the political norm in Nigeria. If that is the case, political experience and Political contacts do not come in. By the way you would be grossly underestimating Pat Utomi, by thinking he does not have the necessary contacts were it matter. And I mean good contacts.

My appeal is that everyone is that we try something different for a change rather than leaving things the way they are.

God Bless us All
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi For President In 2007? by monkeyleg: 7:56pm On Feb 19, 2007
Tonyblu,

I support your passion for Pat Utomi, but we must also give people with differing views an opportunity to express themselves, even if we do not like thier answers.

On experience, I often hold myself from shitting a brick when I hear people say that Pat does not have Political experience. If we are to look at those politicians with experience, which of them has actually made a diference for the good of all. As far as I am concerned the experience they have gained counts for nothing. They have not learnt the basic rule of public office, and that is to serve. The way I see it is that Pat has as much political experience as the other candidate, just that he is heads and shoulders above the rest in terms of good quality.

For those that think he can not win, you might just be surprised. Dont sit idle hoping for change if you are not interested in being part of that change. A lady I met at the Voters registeration office summed it up well. "Nigerians are Very Passive people" They talk about change, but are not keen to get involved in the process. Dont get involved now, and your Kids will definitely blame you.

I am so excited to see good people show so much passion about Pat Utomi. Please let us all keep the momentum up. It is about time we start choosing the right people to rule us. I always challange my country men and women that if they indeed want a change, from the rubbish we have had for the last 8years, then they should vote right. The days of money politics should be seen as dead and buried. If we do not stand up and do the right thing now, then I am afraid our great Country will fall deeper into cesspit we find ourselves in.

It is time for us all to stand up for change.

Vote Pat Utomi
BusinessRe: Make Money With Bananas (Exportation) by monkeyleg: 5:19pm On Jun 20, 2006
The answers are not so simple my friend. Make proper enquiries, but I can assure you that there are some trade restrictions between certain countries, i.e you are not allowed to bring in food stuff in to the EU countries unless it has been approved by the EU. That is the way it works. That is why farmers from Africa can not compete.

The red tape and beaureu and unbelieveable. Good luck anyway
