My people, ever digressing from the real issue. Always taking the path of least resistance. |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with him denying that he is from Nigeria. For those who shouting blue murder, you need to go and find out what Nigerians have done the world over. We have not endeared people to us, we have abused people trust, we have been mean to people, we have been deceitful to people, we have lied at every single opportunity, even my former governor changed his date of birth to avoid being disqualifed during elections. we have simply soiled our reputation, even those who understand us better have lost all respect for us, because we have abused thier kindness. From the America's to Africa, we as Nigerians have messed up our reputation. So please lay off the guy. Let us start by fixing our country |
We all to get mouth. tomorrow, dem share billions of Naira, we go all gather here dey do pity party. Nigerians should go and hold thier leaders to account |
Nigerians are not ready, I have stopped feeeling sorry for anyone. Look at Libya, Egypt, Syria but to name but a few, we stand dey look |
Nonsense. Where these headquaters not in ND before? did the youths not chase them away whilst thier chiefs looked on They should forget it, if they want work let them o to Lagos or Abuja and compete with everyone else |
So sad. RIP |
Delta state is a unique case. Both past and present governors are bad. Past, Certified ex-convict Present, failed doctor, was sacked and then got lucky with his bros |
@Gbawe, My brother, EFCC is just another symptom of failure in Nigeria, another worthless, useless organisation. Not fit for purpose, setup as an avenue to spend out money foolishly. Really you cannot tell me that in country with some many "Thieves in Government", in and out of office, they are finding it difficult to find just one thief to catch. Just one, is all I asked them. The evidence is everywhere for them to see, even the woman that sells Akara on the street can do a better job. For instance, Uduaghan. Anyone that knows him, knows he was a failed doctor that worked for DSC, and was summarily dismissed with his Blue Volks. Now this man was not successful in anyway. Simple question, where did he get all the money that he has used to contest the 3 elections he has been involved in? where did he get 10 billion Naira to sponsor his 22yr old daugther's NGO. I any society with the slightest semblance of common sense, these questions will be asked |
What can be this writes interest that to serve to tell the truth. The biggest problem we have as a people is the ability to tell ourselves the truth and act on it. I fnd no blame in the writers article, and I for one will accept the account if what happened as truth. It is a real shame that up to this very date 40yrs post the civil war, anti Igbo sentiments still exists, and this is not based on evidence of "Need to Hate or dislike", but on perceptions. So where have we grown as nation, how do we represent difference from the past? No wonder we are still making the same mistakes we made 50yrs ago. For those familes who suffered this brutal wicked incident, maybe at last thier stories will be told and heard |
It is not necessary. when state start getting into this sort of business I fear. he should focus on mass transit programme, and create enabiling environment for private firms to run such things |
misplaced priority. |
Liz, Thanks for this. very compeling reading. The truth mush surely come out |
Trying to make themslevs seem important and fit for purpose. Ibori romance with them here for years, nothing happen, Now that the Biritish Justice system has shown them how you finger out "A thief in Government house", they start to make noise. Oya, Oga EfCC, show us that you are serious, go and Grab Ibori's brother, after all he was part and parcel of the Entire Grand theft Empire. Let them start wuth Uduaghan, he is there staring them Crow-Crow in the eye. Nonsense talk from a useless organisation, infact efcc should be scraped, we can save the mney we are wasting on them, probably use it for oil subsidy for the massess |
His brother is Next on the List from very reliable sources. For those who are interested, I will be in court on the 16th of April to witness his sentencing, so if you guys are interested we can have a beer later and discuss the matter. My bet is that he gets 10yrs. Dont forget he is a repeat offender, and the Judges normally dont take kindly to that. After he serves his sentence, he is mostly likely going to be stripped of his residency / citizenship, and that would make it practically impossible for him to visit Europe or the Americas, even Dubai that extradited him are likely to refuse him entry, after all he would be a tripple ex-convict |
His plea bargain will make little or no difference. Ibori has been convicted 3 times in the Uk, which makes him a repeat offender, Judges normally dont take kindly to that sort of thing, infact he is seen as dengerous and will be held securely at her Majesties Pleasure. Most likely heading to Wormwood scrubs |
BBC have really nailed Ibori 27 February 2012 Last updated at 18:54 Share this pageEmail Print Share this page ShareFacebookTwitter.James Ibori: How a thief almost became Nigeria's presidentBy Andrew Walker Nigeria analyst Continue reading the main story Related Stories Nigeria official 'stole millions' Nigeria country profile The story of how James Ibori went from convicted thief in London in the 1990s, to become governor of a wealthy oil-producing Nigerian state and then to a British prison is a remarkable one. It is the story of a wily political operator, backing the right political horses and shifting allegiances when expedient. Given slightly different circumstances, according to one observer, it could have seen Ibori in the presidential villa rather than a British jail cell. Ibori's defence in the face of allegations had always been that he had a successful business career and had made money independent of government. But in 1991, he was working in a hardware store in the London suburb of Neasden. Some of Ibori's assets were in the name of his wife, sister and mistress The prosecution in this trial told a judge he was earning around £15,000 ($24,000) a year. He was caught by his employer allowing his wife to walk through the till he was manning without paying for goods. They both pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court and were fined. In 1992, he was convicted for possession of a stolen credit card, which had £1,000 spent on it, and was again fined in a UK court. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17184075 |
If GEJ was looking for proof that the whole system is rottern, here it is. Same man qas acquitted of all charges in Nigeria, where the evidence is so abundant, yet he is found guilty and will face jail. I wonder if we will hear any comments from the President |
The chap looks like he has settled nicely into Prison life. See how Camp he is |
Chief don Camp |
Na wah oh. So as Oga just kpamu for Jette |
Our Big bros don humble. For those who doubt

The prosecutor called him a "thief in government house". Chai, I wonder how he felt when the pronouncement was made. Anyway. I don buy ticket, I must be in court in the 16th of April for his sentencing |
Nigeria ex-Delta state governor James Ibori guilty plea The wife, sister and mistress of James Ibori have also been convicted of money-laundering Continue reading the main story Related Stories Nigeria country profile James Ibori, a former governor of one of Nigeria's oil-producing states, has pleaded guilty in a UK court to 10 counts of money-laundering and conspiracy to defraud. British police accuse him of stealing $250m (£160m) over eight years. The prosecutor called him a "thief in government house". Mr Ibori, once seen as one of Nigeria's wealthiest and most influential politicians, was arrested in 2010 in Dubai and then extradited to London. Some $35m of his alleged UK assets were frozen in 2007. As his trial at London's Southwark Crown Court was about to begin, Mr Ibori changed his plea to guilty and admitted stealing money from Delta state and laundering it in London through a number of offshore companies. Continue reading the main story “ Start Quote We will now be actively seeking the confiscation of all of his stolen assets so they can be repatriated for the benefit of the people of Delta state” End Quote Paul Whatmore Metropolitan Police The BBC's Chris Summers says between 20 and 30 of Mr Ibori's supporters turned up to court - some wearing T-shirts with the slogan "Free Ibori". There was not enough room for them all in the public gallery. Prosecuting QC Sasha Wass said Mr Ibori, 53, had "tricked" his way into becoming Delta state governor, by giving a false date of birth and claiming he had no criminal record. "He was never the legitimate governor and there was effectively a thief in government house. As the pretender of that public office, he was able to plunder Delta state's wealth and hand out patronage." He is due to be sentenced on 16 April. 'Lavish lifestyle' Mr Ibori's wife, Theresa, his sister, Christine, his mistress, Udoamaaka Okoronkwo, and his London solicitor, Bhadresh Gohil, have all been convicted of money-laundering. Their convictions could only be reported on Monday after reporting restrictions were lifted. Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had asked the UK's Metropolitan police to look into the ex-governor's financial affairs. "The vast sums of money involved were used to fund Mr Ibori's lavish lifestyle," Detective Inspector Paul Whatmore, the officer in charge of the investigation, said. "We will now be actively seeking the confiscation of all of his stolen assets so they can be repatriated for the benefit of the people of Delta State." He said that the money Mr Ibori stole should have been used to pay for sanitation, power supplies and healthcare for some of the poorest people in the world. Mr Ibori spent the stolen money on houses in London and put his children in the best private schools in the UK. DIY theft He also bought a fleet of armoured Land Rovers and Bentleys and was in the process of buying a $32m private jet. Three of the money-laundering charges relate to the sale of Delta state's share in V-Mobile to Akwa Ibom state. This raised $37m which Mr Ibori stole and laundered through his solicitor Gohil, who has been jailed for 10 years. In 2007, a UK court froze assets allegedly belonging to him worth $35m. His annual salary as Delta state governor was less than $25,000. He had already left the UK when his assets were seized but he was arrested in Nigeria later that year. The charges were dismissed but he was then re-arrested in Dubai on a British warrant. Mr Ibori has been convicted in the UK before - in 1991 for stealing, in cahoots with his wife who worked as a cashier, from the Neasden, London, branch of the DIY shop Wickes. He was also found guilty in 1992 for being in possession of a stolen credit card and having used it to fraudulently take out $1,590. Under Nigeria's federal system, state governors enjoy huge powers and control budgets larger than those of many West African countries. They have immunity from prosecution while in office. Two other former state governors have been convicted of corruption charges in Nigeria, after fleeing the UK while free on bail. |
Yes the Ogidigbodigbo has been caught pants down, and it is not a pretty sight. Potentially he could get 10yrs, he would most likely serve 5yrs if he is a good boy The prosecutor called him a "thief in government house". something we Nigerians are not brave enought to do. has the account details been publshed. I will like to help as well |
Tough one. I always advice people to look before they leap. This is a classic case. Did you find out about her character before you married her? The truth is that people have the wrong concept about marriage and this is one those. I am never an advocate for divorce, I guess you need to be tough and lay down the law, make her understand that you will not stand any nonsense, and if she is not interested in playing the full role of a wife, you will have no other choice than to walk out. There is nothing as bad as a disrespectful partner, expecially when the other is good |
country finally gone to the dogs. Listen guys, lets face it we are finally finish, of all the people to represent us even in thief land it is a bunch of no good criminals |
well, Like most things in Nigeria, no regulation and laws to protect people is such positions. This is now a great opportunity to get things right. Agencies can now set up proper Nanny and au pair services, where client and employee are vetted. like dasparrow suggest, let us clean our own houses, until we learn common human respect and dignity |
another chopping project. Has anyone asked Tony Anenih what he did with all the contracts and money he was paid. Jungle country. I done tire to hear all this nonsense. Let us start by investigating Tony Anennih. I am sick and tired of this stupid country. We let ourselves get rraapped over and over again |
He cant even Govern Nigeria properly, what a joke |
Listen guys, whilst some might suggest that there are political undertones to all this, let us not forget that GEJ is the commander in chief and onus and responsibility lies squarely at his feet to guarantee the safety and security of all citizens irrespective of what part of the country they come from. the mandate is with him and he be in a position to show true leadership and act decisevely. He is really showing himself to be weak and deviod of ideas. let him Phucking step up and act. No one will condemn him for taking tough steps if it brings the security situation under control |
They should forget it, if they want work let them o to Lagos or Abuja and compete with everyone else
