IconicR:What evidence? |
pendragonbladgo:I can see where you are coming from. You and the VC are unscrupulous individuals. |
Olaide1295:Dey play. The certificate which the Church gave you during wedding was actually gotten from the Local Government Council of the area where the church is located. The church did the wedding and gave you the certificate on the Local Government's behalf. This is because a house of worship is recognised in law as a place to celebrate marriage, and they can help you do the registration before or after they wed you. |
I will not know what informs her decision. But I want to speak on the legal side of things. Not getting married at the Registry (also called Statutory marriage) has some implications. 1. Someone has already mentioned that she can leave for abroad without you, as you are not her legal husband. She is still single in the eyes of the law. That is also implying that her child, and anyone she bears with you will be hers to decide their fate at the embassy or any official place. 2. She will not be liable to bigamy. That's a way of saying she can cheat on you with another man, and you can't redress her wrongs legally, as she is not your wife to that level. 3. She does not need to go to Court to divorce you. This is easy and to her advantage, as her father will just send her bride price back to you and thats it. She can end things today and leave, nothing holding her. 4. She may also decide not to change her surname after marriage, as she will need to present a Marriage Certificate to do that. But she is intentionally avoiding that. My advice to those getting married is to be careful of any partner that's giving them conditions or is reserving a part of their commitment. If you love someone too much to marry them, you should love them too much to give your all. Anything less is a recipe for breakup, because marriage can test your resolve for a lifetime. |
pendragonbladgo:Students are being kidnapped/robbed in and around your university campus, and you think the VC and University Council has nothing to do? Are you also saying they have no relationship with the Police station in their area or community who can be drafted or equipped to render better service? Or they cannot call the Visitor of the University (usually the Governor or President) to intervene? What is then their work? Now that they have been rusticated, will the insecurity of students end? You are making a different where there is none. |
pendragonbladgo:You have a problem. The UNICAL students that protested last month against sexual harassment by their Dean, I didn't see you condemn what they did? "Kids of nowadays" but you are an elderly person that nobody knows about. What have you contributed to earn that right to call students "kids"? |
Will their expulsion solve the insecurity problem which made them to protest? Just like in Ogun where the Ijebu LG Chairman was arrested by DSS for exposing the Governor's corrupt ways, will the arrest solve the allegations he raised. Nigeria and its institution always like to pursue rat while their house is burning. Educational institutions should be a place to raise free and critical mindsets, not dimwits and quiet graduates who will not change their society. |
Our parents tried to change Nigeria, when they tried unsuccessfully, they gave up and left. We stood in their absence, tried the same thing but gave up, now we are leaving. See the number each year. The best of our best heads are leaving every year. Who will change Nigeria if we all leave? |
"The present administration of President Bola Tinubu is barely three months in office and Ajaero has threatened to go on strike on 5 different occasions. Haba! Our people in Southwest have started to read ethnic/ political meanings to NLC positions on Tinubu administration." The above should tell you that the NURTW leader speaks for his "people in the South West". A national union speaking like an ethnic union. Every institution is bowing to kiss the ring. |
The 2012 Camry should be better as a first car, but costlier than the other sedan on your list. |
Megabig:But this didn't happen in Abia State? Imolites should aspire to be like Abia State. Thats the goal |
Do you have the 1979 yearbook now? Propaganda upon propaganda |
aQUINandmore:Whose interest is Nigeria fostering by cutting off their energy supply? Niger Republic are our African brothers. Whatever we do here should be for their benefit first and foremost. Foreign interest of France and US is second place. They will come and go. When all is said and done, we are the ones that solves our own issues. This same Niger Republic helped in the fight against Boko Haram, even when US refused to give us weapons. Its like you fighting your brother because of an outsider. Win or lose, the outsider loses nothing. You and your brother become enemies over something that benefits only the outsider. |
UnusualEmissary:The coup leaders are actually fighting to be free from western powers - France. You can see that since they gained "independence" from France, they have not been truly independent. I wish Nigeria had taken a different position on this matter. After all these is done and the foreigners are gone, we will have enemies within the house because of what we did. Niger Republic are our brothers. |
emperor863:I don't want to counter what you said happened with Zik and other independence politician. Let me just talk about what happened during my time, the so called Tinubu Presidency. From your write up, you seem to feel that Obidients are Igbos who don't want the South West, via Tinubu to be President. That is a wrong way to look at it, being that Atiku, a Northerner has his own Petition against Tinubu and has just recently initiated a suit in Illinois to confirm Tinubu's certificate. Now, Obidients cuts across Nigeria, an you can see that Edo (a south south State and kin to Yorubas) have the largest interest in the movement. Obidients won in Lagos during the last Presidential election, and these are not solely Igbo votes. So my brother, Igbos are not fighting Yorubas, rather, Nigerians of good conscience don't want a President who is tainted. If you are from a good home, I believe you will not like corruption, forgery, high-handedness, lies and cheating in your relationships, even if the person involved is a family member. Thats how Obidients feel. Even the Yorubas would not support a man whose history is chequered - 1. No known primary and secondary school education. Infact, he stopped using GCI as his secondary school when Bode George, a fellow yoruba man queried his claim to have attended Government College Ibadan. Is that a man the Yorubas will stand behind as representing them? A man who stole Donald Duke's childhood picture for his celebration of life. Haba. There are limits to things, especially for adults. Don't you think its too much to be meshed in controversy about your parentage and heritage? 2. A man who was involved in drugs. To the extent that he has a case in the US. Do you know what it means to be involved in drugs in the US? To have a criminal record. Is that a man Yorubas want to stand behind? Do you even know the implication of having a compromised President? He can be controlled against your interest. Just see his moves in Niger Republic, even when our Senate ruled against military invasion. 3. A man who till date still draw pension from Lagos State after serving 8 years since 2007. Have you looked at the implications for the ordinary person on the street of Lagos, that all former Governors are drawing Pension worth billions from their commonwealth, for a service rendered just for 8 years. Infact, Tinubu still draws this pension while now serving as the President. Is that what you represent? 4. Lets talk about his performance so far in office; Do you feel that this man is competent? With all the blunders and ill-thought out policies right from his inauguration. Has Nigerian gotten better since 29th May 2023? You know, these are all what the Obidients are against. Its not Igbo vs. Yoruba. Infact, the yoruba guys around me here, about three of them are all Obidients. We just don't want our destiny controlled by those who won't feel anything if they are killing us. 5. Check out the controversies we are currently having, certificate forgery everywhere, Minister who has not finished NYSC thats she is currently doing, Minister who finished only primary school, Ministers who have cases with the EFCC. Senators and Governors who submitted fake certificates. Is that the kind of country you want, where politicians feel they can aspire to public office based on lies and forgery? So my dear brother, re-orientate yourself about the Obidient movement. We want a Nigeria without all these anomalies. Its not about Peter Obi, its about the values which we see in him. |
Gadafii:Let me help you. "Niger delta people cannot refine their own oil, it’s called oil bunkering, but zamfara people can mine their own gold privately, it is called artisanal mining." Buhari ensured this artisanal mining of Gold in Zamfara was legal, even went as far as getting Emefiele's CBN to give them soft loan, and store the gold in the CBN vaults, as part of national reserves. |
trutharena:How can he have a childhood but ended up using Donald Duke's picture as his? Since we are here. |
richie240:Your Lord and Master hates statistics. You are very Obidient to ways |
You guys will see a news and rush to post on Nairaland as if its the end of the story. You guys have not seen the certificate CSU will present in Court and you are rejoicing. Now listen. Tinubu has submitted two different certificates so far from the same school. The present confirmation from CSU shows that either of these certificates submitted so far is fake, or that both of them are fake and that CSU will issue the authentic one. In any event, it is a disqualifying element if you submitted a fake certificate to INEC (and some decisions say that "if you have ever submitted a fake certificate in prior elections). With what CSU said here, the chances of Tinubu getting disqualified is 2 out of 3. |
Do you have a spacious 2 or 3 bedroom flat in either Shomolu, Surulere or Yaba? Basic rent not more than 1.2m |
How much |
We are too poor as a country to maintain these two houses of the National Assembly. What kind of profligacy is this? |
Please guys, I am looking for a car Detailer in Lagos. Someone that can wash the interior (fabric seats, dashboard, head rest, rugs) and engine bay (clean containers and parts) to look like fresh import. Comment if you know any contact with the ability |
OP. One thing you should know is that your in-laws are depending (or hope to depend) on your girl financially. That is my biggest worry in all this - a wife who is obligated to her family financially cannot be FULLY JOINED with you to build your own home after marriage. You are already helping the siblings at getting a job. That's a start. How many siblings does she have? Add their number to the number of kids you intend to have, so that you know your responsibility ahead of time. Whether you both stay in Nigeria or travel abroad with her, she will never rest until her family is free from poverty, and that may take your whole lifetime and lots of missed opportunities. And you can't love your girl out of this obligation. The more you love her, the more she feels she owes her family. That's my worry for you, that you are about to enter a bottomless pit. Her mother is not subtle with their family's plan. Your girl is subtle with it so as not to scare you. Give her time, so that her hidden intentions may come out. Its well with you. |
Interest. How do i contact you. Post a phone/whatsapp number |
I sincerely hope people will learn their lessons after all these happenings. The first quality of a leader is concern for the followers. The people in power now have never shown concern for you and I. Check it, EndSars, Naira Redesign, insecurity in every region, Japa syndrome, etc. Even when it was election time and you invited them for debate and interaction, did they come? Do you think they give a hoot how you feel or what you will say? To give monkey banana is easy, to retrieve the banana is the problem. We gave power to those who can comfortably avoid us. Now see the result. |
LikeAking:You don't know what's happening. |
This is a funny situation. For those supporting this new tax on Nigerians, I want to ask. Do you renew your voters card every year? |
Not just in the Banking sector. I recently learn that the best way to double your salary is to change job. Because you won't take the same pay (or less) if you are changing to a new place. It is always likely to be more, sometimes double of your present salary. It is why staff loyalty sometimes inhibits improved earnings and promotion |
There is something that Seyi is doing that you are not doing to her. She is also young and indecisive for marriage. Report to her mum and get someone to speak sense into her. Thats how young girls behave until their compatible male friends get married. Then they will start searching for those outside their age bracket, which has its own problems. |
43Ronin:You speak with regard to the social conditions. And I agree with you |
CuriousStudent:You should give your own advice first, so we know if we are saying the same thing. Not condemning others for offering help. Men should not talk again? People are talking from their experience and wisdom. You speak your own. |
