Computers › Re: Choosing The Right Laptop For Gaming by moonraker(m): 2:17am On Nov 13, 2012 |
Present situation of things in the gaming industry
If you are in playing the latest games in high or the
highest settings possible, you have to spend money.
it not cheap. The Intel graphics that everyone on this thread
is screaming about will not cut it. Sorry to bust your bubble.
Now unto the real info.
You need at least a Dual core processor at 2.7/8ghz to play games.
I do recommend Quad core though.
In the RAM department, 8GB will be the sweet spot.
In the graphics area, you need at least an AMD or Nvidia Video card with dedicated graphics.
to be specific, place your money on the HD 7000 range upward for AMD and 570M for Nvidia.
for your hard drive, go with a 72000rpm drive or if you have enough money, go the SSD route.
This is it!!!! |

2buff: It depends.. but in most situations, cordially Give her space with no bad feelings(dont ever be that child who throws tantrums because she doesnt love him back or some ish), live a fabulous happy life without her and let her own mind work for you instead of you wasting time doing any foolish hard work like someone mentioned here that may further reduce your novelty in her eyes (just like the stock market makes your money work for you and not you working for your money ). Simple, but not so easy if you really liked the girl. But you have to discipline yourself and stay off her matter, no hard feelings ofcourse.
A lot of times after doing this and they see you have truly fashied them, they will call you one day to "just check up on you" or the typical nigerian-chick "so you've forgotten me ehN?" type call in an obvious attempt to create an avenue to rediscuss the topic after their head, heart and emotions have dealt with them severly. Ofcourse by then, being an awesome guy, you would probably already be looking at at least 2 pther promising individuals and might not have her time anymore. Such is life.
Absence makes the heart grow fond as you all well know. Un-abased Novelty. This is the fundamental of the game. I hate to sound like a game-pusher when starting relationships are involved but the anti-politically-correct version of the truth is that ALL women require the game. No matter how "different" you think they are. GBAM!!!! Makes a hell lot of sense!!! |

*Ileke-IdI: Be persistent by showing her that you really like, but know your limit and know when to give up. Don't become a stalker.
If a girl says No, there are 2 reasons why:
1. She really don't like you
2. She does not believe that you're worth it. Yikes, that cruel!!!! What if the girl says she has a bf?? |

samir101ng: " Windows 8 Installation Has Failed "
And with that statement, i finally met my first challenge installing Windows 8 on a system. Am trying to install Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit on an Asus VX6 Netbook with a Nvidia ION graphics card with Optimus. It has 6GB RAM & a 250GB HDD. Am using a bootable USB and DVD-ROM media to install but with no luck. Went to the Windows 8 forums and came across plenty people experiencing the same issues. It seems upgrading on some systems has a lot of issues from BIOS, Antivirus or security software, incompatible programs etc. Bottom line, am stuck and still researching on how to overcome this challenge. But the surprising thing is i installed the same media on a Sager NP3250 wtih+ a 1GB Nvidia GT520M graphics card with Optimus and no issues. It seems the upgrade installer is a little finicky on some systems. @Moonraker-chan, have you encountered any such issues before coz people are screaming bloody murder in the Microsoft forums. Oops, Sorry for my late respond Brother Samir... Been in research mode for a while.. About the installation issue, you cant install that on a netbook. Except you by some miracle get your hands on Windows 8 RT. Now even if you did by some miracle again get your hands on the RT version, You will have to contend with the resolution issue. For apps to work properly on windows 8 you need a minimum of at least 1386x800 i think. I am not aware of any netbook with such a resolution. This is the issue with netbooks now. Planning on disposing my netbook becos well when you use the windows 8 interface, there is no going back |

Sure will. I'll be right back. Ileke-IdI: You guys, plz ignore Royal Pain lol
@moon/lord
What do you guys mean by the bloating of the phone?
Trust me, this phone is large. And yes, I can operate one-handed now that I manually set the option to one-handed operation. The motion sensor senses which hand is being used, then shifts the keyboard to the designated side, making typing with one hand much more easier. In simple english Garbage |

I couldnt take pics today lol. I went str8 from the phone place to work. Trust me, by tomorrow, I'll fill this thread up.
Answering your previous question, I stuck with T-mobile because they offered the best service and because they're changing to an LTE network by mid of next year.
At&t was a bit pricy for a student like me ($120/month ke ) while T-mobile was offering me ($90/month with extended phone insurance included for the same service).
So far, I've got no complaint.
PS: Can you believe that this phone can PrtScn *Ileke-IdI: Can you imagine, from August - Nov 8. I didnt know I had this much patience in me.
I'm very much impressed with myself Hahahhahahaha your funny!!!! I am not sure about PrtScn being a new feature but my GN1 can do same by holding the home and power button i think!!! I am happy and at the same time jealous of you!!! I expect a full debrief by 2moro!!! |

Alright!!!! A little update on the whole Windows 8 Brah haha!!!
So well as you all on from this thread, i have been running windows 8 since
its inception, even though i havent posted all my photos and findings here.
Anyways, on October 26th 2012, Windows 8 was officially available for download
from my base (Japan to be specific) at exactly 12am). Now seeing how stable it
was on my laptop, i decided to upgrade two other laptops at home using my technet
subscription. Everything went smoothly. i installed windows 8 pro on two computers
in 25minutes. I was in cloud nine cos well this is like one the fastest OS installations
i have done in a while (Well except for ubuntu).
Anyways, nothing happened. One of my laptops, an HP Envy 17 to be specific installed a driver
from windows update which made the screen go black. This laptop comes with switchable graphics which
has always been a problem even in windows 7. HP doesnt have a new driver for it and AMD isnt bothered to
even try to support it. So you spend like 1500+ on a laptop and you are expected to provide support for yourself??
I was losing my mind. So i calmed down for a while and then went to system recovery, went into safe mode and disabled
the two graphics adapters. Boot back into windows and Install Leschat modd drivers (Catalyst 12.9 i think).
It worked fine but putting the computer to sleep and then waking it up brings up only a black screen. still better than
nothing i guess...
Games run fine. tried crysis 2 and fifa 13 and its all good. however, i did try installing NFS Undercover but no show.
Compatibility mode doesnt work either... oh well... Thats it for now. Will fill you guys in on more updates and bugs as
they come!!! |

Upgrade and clean. now if you want to keep your files, settings etc, The upgrade path is your best bet. however, you can only upgrade to windows 8 pro and you also have to start the installation from your present OS Installation. Your files and settings will be stored in folder called windows.old As much as i do recommend doing a clean install, Windows 8 does a pretty darn job on performance.... |

@Lord reed
What's the difference between LTE and HSPA+ in terms of performance? One phone company offers GN2 with LTE and another offers it with HSPA+, not sure which one is better. I heard that LTE is the new revolution and might not available in some coast and still being tested, while HSPA+ is ubiquitous and already well developed. HSPA+ 14mbps LTE 72mbps I do have an LTE modem and the difference is clear. I open web pages faster and well youtube is a dream on that speed while else on HSPA+ which is technically 3G is just well painfully to use. buttom line is once you use LTE, there is no going back!!! Ileke-IdI: My Pipus (Lord Reed and Moonraker)
Are you guys as anxious as I am? Yes i am. As stated in the earlier thread, GN2 hits my base in November. That is my christmas present to myself, along with an alienware m18x or macbook pro retina!!! |

Konnichiwa !!!
Am sold on Windows 8 and will take advantage of the $40 upgrade for my home desktop (Win Vista). Am sure other owners of Win XP & Vista will take advantage of the upgrade offer also. However, recent owners of Win 7 might hold off on the upgrade until all the bugs are worked out. My primary laptop is one of them. Better safe than sorry. hahahaha good one bro btw you will not be disappointed!!! i hv been using windows 8 since the early builds.... I am presently running the rtm build thanks to technet subscription.. The only issue i am having right now is switchable graphic drivers but that isnt MS fault... |
