They weren't a very good airline anyway from what I've heard/read, so this is probably a good thing
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 4:56pm On Feb 02, 2010
Arabs didn't start coming into African until about 700 AD, during which they spread Islam
Before their arrival, the people there were Black. Just like the indigenous Europeans were white, Americans were red, and Asians were yellow, the (North) Africans were BLACK! Arabs spread their religion slowly south (by the sword of course) into Africa and other regions of the world for several centuries until European colonialism. Its only after the withdrawal of the European colonial forces did the Arabs see their opportunity to expand through AFrica once again.

There are countless forums where leaders of nations such as Libya (Quaddafi) Sudan (Hassan), Egypt (Nasser), Morocco, Chad, Niger, Algeria, etc have emphatically stated that their nation and entire socio-economic and geo-political existence is Arabic, their tongue, their culture, their religion, etc. For all the Black Muslims out there, they don't consider you a good Muslim unless you speak Arabic. Thier intention is to turn Africa into a Muslim-practicing and Arabic-speaking continent.

In the last 15 centuries, Arab invaders have grabbed 1/3 of the African continent, and systematically enslaved, exterminated or arabised the Blacks they met there. Some examples include:

Chad:UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports children being sold to Arab herdsmen. As part of a new identity imposed on them the herdsmen ", change their name, forbid them to speak in their native dialect, ban them from conversing with people from their own ethnic group and make them adopt Islam as their religion.

Mali: The Malian government denies that slavery exists. Slavery still continues
Mauritania: A system exists now by which Arabs own black slaves. An estimated 600,000 black Mauritanians, or 20% of the population, are still enslaved, many of them used as bonded labour.

Niger: In Niger, where the practice of slavery was outlawed in 2003, a study found that almost 8% of the population are still slaves.

Sudan: Slavery in the Sudan predates Islam, but continued under Islamic rulers and has never completely died out in Sudan. In the Sudan, Christian and animist captives in the civil war are often enslaved, and female prisoners are often used sexually, with their Muslim captors claiming that Islamic law grants them permission

londoner, if i had my way, egypt wouldn't be in AFCON
not b/c they're arab, but b/c they are systematically killing Africans
they continue to enslave them
they continue to r@pe them
they continue to steal their land

They continue to commit GENOCIDE against Black Africans. They don't do all this to their fellow arabs, but against Black Africans. You'll never see a man from the Taureg enslaving an arab. Yet somehow they still reap the benefits of being classified "African" (like participating and winning AFCON) when it suites them.

Where's the outrage?

Egypt (and 'nem) should participate in the gulf cup. But of course, that's wishful thinking on my part
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 2:31pm On Feb 02, 2010
gbawe you can form your own conclusions from my posts
I can't force you to agree or not agree on anything
I'm only posting the ugly truth when it comes to arabs in Africa and how they came to be here
Its obvious many don't know (or don't want to know) this truth, the brutal destruction and genocide of Africans by committed by arabs TO THIS VERY DAY.

I wonder if they did know or aknowledge this truth, would they (or you?) be so nonchalant about egypt and their victory in AFCON
For the record, I'm all for egypt (and the rest of 'em) to participate in the gulf cup of nations. they DO have their own cup
THEY ARE NOT AFRICAN NOR DO THEY CONSIDER THEMSELVES SUCH
The vast majority of north africans are racially caucasian, ethnically arab, religiously muslim, but LIVE in Africa.
This does NOT make them African, gentlemen. They might tell you otherwise, but this is their worldview, which they emphatically embrace.
Why can't you?

There's no denying that Ghanians and Nigerians are Africans. Egyptians ARE NOT. Sorry to burst your bubble, but they ain't

I'm not condoning hate nor bigotry. And I'm not inciting Africans to (violently) raise up against the arabs. I'm a Christian. But I have what's lacking in so many spineless African throughout the diaspora. And that's PRIDE. I know WHO and WHOSE I am. And I don't have the wool pulled over my eyes. Unfortunately many Blacks (African or otherwise) do. Since independence, Egypt, Morrocco, Libya, Tunisia even Sudan pledged support to the Arab League and not Pan Africanism. A decision which has not since been reversed. Pan-Africanism and Pan-Arabism oppose each other to the effect that North Africans (arabs) have committed one atrocity after another against Blacks in their own native country. Look at the:

   * Apartheid & black slavery in Mauritania TODAY
   * Colorism and Arab enslavement of blacks in Sudan TODAY
   * Ethnic cleansing of Nubians in Egypt and Sudan TODAY
   * The centuries-old Arab quest for Lebensraum [living space] in Africa

There is no country where Blacks living under arab rule are living a life of relative peace and comfort. Even if they have been "islamicized". If they are, they're likely sellout rulers/politicians pandering to the arab agenda.

Sorry, but knowing what I know about north africa's arabs, their systematic and overtly racist, oppressive and barbaric maltreatment towards the indigenous Black populations of North Africa causes me to shake my head when I see the responses of people on this board.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 12:26pm On Feb 02, 2010
sage, i post what i post b/c this bicker and banter among Ghanians and Nigerians is petty in the grand scheme of things.
at the end of the day, its an embarrassment that an arab nation wins the African cup of nations. To add insult to injury, 3X in a row.
nobody is talking about THAT.

you might not think its an embarrasment but it IS. You can spew insults till you're blue in the face, it doesn't change the humiliation.
unfortunately, the school system is shyte here in Naija. they don't teach HISTORY cuz its obvious u don't know yours or that of the continent either.

the arab people of egypt are NOT indigenous egyptians (I can say I'm not surprised you DON"T KNOW THIS).  The modern day arabs of north Africa are recent arrivals from the ME, some 1000 yrs ago. The indigenous people of North Africa before the Islamicization were the Dinkas, Nubians and Berbers. The Arabs came later spreading Islam "by the sword" and they continue to do so today. They continue to practice slavery in countries like Chad, Mali and Mauritania and pummel, rape, kill and plunder in countries like the Sudan. I think you know all of this, but google it up for yourself anyway,

I could go on and on about the brutal Arab slave trade which is nothing compared to the Middle Passage, as it STILL GOES ON TODAY. About the continued genocide of Black Africans by arabs. About the "Islamicizaion" or Arab imperialism, forced religion, culture, language on the indigenous African groups. About the continued seizure of land once owned by Black Africans,

But again this thread is about us celebrating the pharaohs (who weren't arabs btw grin) victory in winning the AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS, right? And how they "deserved" to win cuz they were the best team And how Ghanaians are lazy and Nigerians are hustlers. No one wants to discuss what's NOT being discussed,
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 7:32pm On Feb 01, 2010
aight, thanks for you responses.
I don't wanna hijack this thread, this is about a football match, not a history lesson
so I'll leave out the historical anecdotes of the Arabization of Northern Africa
I was just curious if anyone else felt the way I did

carry on,

SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 6:11pm On Feb 01, 2010
gentlemen, I hear you.
But let me pose this question.
Again the focus of my posts are not on Ghanians or Nigerians per se
But on the irony of arab nations winning the African Cup of Nations. Repeatedly for that matter.
What message does this send to you?
I'm just curious.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 4:59pm On Feb 01, 2010
I got nothing but love for the Nubians.  grin

Truth be told, I have no problem with arabs either. I've worked with several and I have a bunch as friends
MY posts right now are not about how I feel towards arabs. Different thread, different day,
But moreso that the African pride in me is disappointed in the childish rants between grown men (and women?) about which nation is greater.
Ghana? or Nigeria?

When it alludes everyone of the irony of an ARAB (NOT AFRICAN) nation won the AFRICAN cup of nations, and the possibility of representing Africa in the 2010 World Cup.

I know many just don't care. And therein lies the problem.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 4:17pm On Feb 01, 2010
@londoner - not that it matters but I'm Nigerian.
This bickering is funny and sad at the same time.
I'm not saying we should all hold hands and sing kum-ba-ya
But we should recognize one profound truth
And that truth is the arabs are NOT our friends
Not Ghanians or Nigerians
So why all the vitriol in the wake of our embarrasing defeat to them?
Algerians, Tunisians, Morrocans, and Libyans alike are proud of the Pharaohs.
They put whatever petty  differences, rivalries, etc aside and are proudly cheering their North African brothers.
Arch rivals Algeria would never cheer Nigeria to beat their Egyptian brothers. FOR WHEREhuh?
Cuz at the end of the day THEY ARE BROTHERS. We in sub-Saharan Africa are NOT THEIR BROTHERS.
They might tell you they are, but their actions tell a different story.
Not that their is anything wrong w/that. Its human nature. I know where my loyalties lie. But AFricans are the LAST people to enrich/uplift THEMSELVES FIRST before enriching "others". In fact, we do the exact opposite. Like the senseless arguing on this board. WHYhuh?
At the end of the day, the Ghanians are OUR BROTHERS. Whether we like it or not THEY ARE. And vise versa. Not no arabs!
The sooner we realize this, the sooner ALL AFRICANS can truly enjoy our homeland.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by moosieh: 2:47pm On Feb 01, 2010
Ya'll, the focus of this thread shouldn't be on Nigerians vs. Ghanains
But arabs winning the AFRICAN cup of nations for the 3rd time.
This is a disgrace!!!!

To all my Nigerian brothers and sisters singing egypt's praises, you sound like fools right now. sorry, but its the truth.
while you're cheesing  egypt's "victory" they couldn't care less about you. If Nigeria was playing Algeria, do u think for one second egypt would root for Nigeria with the same fervor? Regardless of who was the better team?

No, I didn't think so. egyptians don't even consider themselves African, and hell I agree!
Let them play in the middle east cup of nations. Its an EMBARRASSMENT for arabs to compete in the Africa Cup and beat Black nations left and right for several years in a row. FOR SHAME.  Let's get it together people and focus on preventing "non-Africans" from winning another AFCON championship.
TravelRe: South Africa World Cup 'snubbed By Foreign Fans' by moosieh: 6:42pm On Jan 31, 2010
@str8talk, these links you posted are quite disturbing. I don't understand the sheer animosity SA have towards Nigerians, what's their problem? I understand that SA is in the process of re-building their economy post apartheid, etc and don't want to compete with "outsiders". but if these lowlife thugs took as much energy to expunge the whites (and to a lesser extend the indians/chinese/arabs) who disenfranchised them in EVERY possible way (socially, politically, economically, geographicaly, etc) then they wouldn't feel so threatened by their African immigrant brothers and sisters.

It sickens me. Why don't they point those guns at their oppressors? (and I mean this hypothetically, folks)

TravelRe: La Campagne Tropicana - What's Your Experience? by moosieh: 4:01pm On Dec 14, 2009
Wow, feedback like this is good. Forget all those other pple making excuses, maybe they're plants from La Campagna, hmmmm?lol, Anyway, feedback like this is valuable, no one wishes ill on another man's business, but this country will continue to suffer if sub-par establishments are left to thrive. Competition will drive out the scrubs, and pave way for good entities that deliver quality services. Out with the old, in with the new, I say,
TravelRe: Usa Flight Price by moosieh: 3:50pm On Nov 28, 2009
I've found that any plane ticket to the US is generally cheaper booking directly with Emirates. Go to their website -- depending on when and where you're going, you should find a ticket at a reasonable (and cheaper) price than with other airlines

no, daily car-hire can be 5K daily, even less if purchased by the month. I know cuz I used one for one week and he charged me just that. He was a dependable, reliable and quiet young man, I really enjoyed his services and I always use him when I come to Abuja.

wow, I see you've been drinking out of that idealistic "kum-ba-yah-we-are-the-world" koolaid, be VERY careful, those white pple may be friendly, but they are NOT your friends. Once SA became a pariah state after their disgusting apartheid was exposed and condemned by the rest of the world, whites wanna now brainwash any kneegrow willing to listen of this "Well, we're ALL South Africans, Blacks are my Brothers and Sisters" BS rhetoric. TravelRe: Any Cheap Hotels In Abuja? by moosieh: 5:15pm On Oct 27, 2009
C'mon didn't u read the title of the thread, they said they wanted to know CHEAP hotels, and no, sheraton is NOT cheap. Anyway, if anyone is looking for a cheap hotel, ASO Guest Inn in Garki across the Garki market is an excellent hotel w/starting rates of 5k. This includes cable, water and standby gen, and I must tell you the staff is incredibly friendly which is worth more than one can ask for. I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed there for a week, I wanted to find a cheaper place, but the staff was always so warm and friendly that I decided to stay.

Also there is Dayspring HOtel in Wuse Zone 6, their rates are like 3,500. I was gonna stay there but like I said, i enjoyed the customer service at Aso too much to leave grin
TravelRe: Need Good Hotel At Reasonable Price In Ibadan by moosieh: 4:09pm On Oct 27, 2009
There is a site I think its called african hospitality or something like that which displays a variety of hotels on its site. You can book and pay for your hotel room online. They came to my city and held a seminar in which they showed my hotel how to join their portal. Anyway, they're just starting out, but I believe they'll be big in a year or two. Just google them, I believe you'll find some hotels in Ibadan.
