Remember Allah's favour unto you, how He placed among you prophets,

the whole thing started with statement like yours

The events of Saturday 07 Oct 2023 are still fresh in our minds. It is a stark reminder to us of what they will attempt to do to the Israelis if they have the capability.

Louder than their actions was the silence of the Palestinian Authority. "Silence" in quotes anyway, because they celebrated the murders of civilians gathered together for a religious festival, and the desecration of their bodies.

Till today, we are yet to hear a prominent voice from Palestine ask for the unconditional release of the hostages as a prelude to seeking an enduring ceasefire. Or those hostages aren't human enough?

We are not dummies. We thank God they do not have a military.

Israel should go ahead and thoroughly degrade Hamas's capability to constitute a nuisance. I'd be grossly disappointed if they drop the ball.

They did not threaten to execute the abductees while streaming the execution live?

They should do their worst. They'll be blasted out of existence either way.

Arab lands stretch from Northwest Africa through Algeria, Libya, Egypt all the way to Iraq, Kuwait Qatar. A very massive expanse of land.

Compared to that, Israel is just a tiny speck.

But to stand with Palestine, Arabs ensure the Palestinians stay in Gaza even when common sense dictates they should be given passageway out of Gaza. So clearly, to stand with Palestine does not mean to love them, but to hate Israel.

As for the riffraffs trying to sway the support of Nigerian Christians against Israel, it'll help if you start by condemning Hamas and their terrorist attack on Israel.

To show sincerity, hold mass protests and insist that justice be done to the murderers of Deborah in Sokoto State, for not only was she a civilian, and a Christian, she was also a defenceless woman from an ethnic minority.

Just last week, US Congress stopped the funding of Ukraine war. The US Congress is in disarray and US is in the middle of election campaigns.
Isreal is very very vulnerable now with the huge pressure on US. That's why the UN security council must prevail on both parties to stop the killings. The dead is now over 500 on the Isreal side. That's a huge loss when you consider the multiple families grieving now . Palestinians are already used to being killed by the Isreali

Foreign Affairs / Re: African Adaptation Of Israel - Palestinian Conflict And The MiddleEast Crises by Mordecai(m): 4:56pm On Oct 08, 2023
It is quite instructive that we both agree the Jews did not apply any force in taking back the land where their ancestors lived, died and were buried. They went about it peacefully, without going into Palestinian homes and butchering mothers along with their children as the Palestinians are doing today.

Let's move on.

When the Jews were talking to the British, weren't the Arabs also doing same? Aren't you aware that there were armed Arab militias devoted to ensuring that Jews fleeing the Holocaust do not land in present-day Israel?

Aren't you aware that the Arabs were able to convince the League of Nations to create two countries, one for the Jews, and another for the Arabs - to be situated along the Transjordan, now named Jordan?

Are you aware that consequent upon these decisions, Jews in all the Arab lands were expelled creating a massive refugee situation? Refugees that the new Jewish nation absorbed without hesitation and settled?

Aren't you also aware that there were no hostilities between the Jews and the Arabs till the Arab nations declared war on the newly-formed State of Israel? You are also aware that the purpose of the war was to obliterate the Jews? And to that end, the Arab population in Israel was asked to leave the area to enable the Arab armies kill every human that breathes in the "killzone"? And that consequent upon that, the Arabs almost all left the land.
The outcome of that war, which lasted six days is well known to us.
Aren't you aware that the Arabs that stayed with Israel retained their lands and were not evicted, while those that left became refugees in the lands of their own brothers? Heck, even the Bedouins that stayed are Israeli citizens today.
Aren't you also aware that while the Jewish nation immediately absorbed their own refugees, the Arabs refused to absorb theirs, till today, generations after, moreso when the Kingdom of Jordan was created to cater to them?

When you talk about land-grabbing during wars initiated by Palestinians, are you telling me that it's okay for the Palestinians to take over land if they win, but wrong for the Jews to do so?

To recap, we both agree that:

Historically, the land first belonged to the Jews.

Today, it still belongs to the Jews.

Morally, the Jews should keep it, and the Palestinians should be absorbed by their brothers that convinced them to leave the land while they expelled the Jews from their own lands.

Legally, the kingdom of Jordan should absorb the Palestinians, for they were formed for that very purpose.

As such, any militia that invades Israel to begin killing mothers and children is just a terrorist group, and frankly, they have been cuddled by Israel for so long. We all saw how Turkey treated the Kurds in their own territory.

As for dieing for the land, has Israel ever minced words about their resolve? It is the Palestinians that need to come to a consensus over that, as they start crying out whenever they take a good spanking from the Israeli Police.

StOla:

Nothing stops the Jews from pushing in.

The thing is the Arabs did not realise they were at war because no guns were being fired until the Jews had cunningly taken over the Arab lands and convinced the British to let them declare an Isreal territory over the greater part of what remained of the Palestine region.

And even at that, the Jews still encroached on even the parts of Palestine that was not allocated as their territory, and also uprooted whole Arab owned villages from within the territory of Israel, and ensured that the Arabs became refugees that were never allowed to return.

Not to now even talk about the rest of the land they have been grabbing with every war that has been fought onwards.

So if the Jews want to keep the lands they should be ready to die for it.

As far as I am concerned, the Jews are the occupiers in Palestine that the world should never have allowed to happen.
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Adaptation Of Israel - Palestinian Conflict And The MiddleEast Crises by Mordecai(m): 3:38pm On Oct 08, 2023
Thank you for reaffirming that the land earlier belonged to the Jews.

Now, if the Arabs inhabited the place by "pushing in", what stops the original owners of the land claiming back their heritage by "pushing in" also?

StOla:

Jerusalem got its name from the Hebrew (Jews) who had displaced the Canaanites from their land.

After centuries of Hebrew domination as the 12 tribe Israelite nation was eventually reduced to 2 tribes of Benjamin and Judah, that remainder of the Hebrew Israelite nation was referred to as Jews and their region referred to as Judea.

With Roman Empire expansion into the Levant region (Middle-East) of Asia, the Jews lived under the domination of the Romans. Eventually the Romans sacked Jerusalem and the Jews as a subset of the Hebrew that no longer existed, scattered into different parts of the world.

Over the centuries the Roman Empire declined and other empires took hold of the many diverse land holdings of the Romans.

The Arabs pushed into the Palestine region in the 7th century, and despite many other empires staking a claim to the Palestine region over the many centuries, the inhabitants remained largely Arab, but did not exclude Jews who came around from time to time and those Jews who remained as an insignificant few.

The Arabs continued dominating the region know as Palestine up till the start of the 20th century, such that the region had 90% Palestinian population that was not Jewish as at 1919, despite that 2 waves of Jewish migration from Europe had already occurred as at then.
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Adaptation Of Israel - Palestinian Conflict And The MiddleEast Crises by Mordecai(m): 2:32pm On Oct 08, 2023
Let's dissect your revised history piece by piece:

How and when did Jerusalem get it's name? From the Arabs?

How and when did these Arabs come to occupy the area?

Who were the people they met there?

StOla:

There is nothing deceptive about it, but truly some sprinkling of Jews (Zulus) and remnants of other previous occupier had remained in Yoruba land even while Yorubas dominated the land for many centuries into the modern age.

Using the Yoruba identity to adapt this historical tale is also apt, since the Arabs had occupied the Palestine region since the 7th century, long before there was a Yoruba civilization in West Africa.

So it was a better analogy than using modern day Fulani encroachment of the Nigerian Middle-Belt to describe the Arabs of Palestine that have occupied their own region for over a millennium.

As at 1919, despite 2 waves of European Jewish migration to Palestine already, the Palestinian Muslims and Christians still had 90% of the population of the region.

The zionist Jews bought land in the region and began renaming Arab villages and towns as Jewish villages and towns.

Foreign Affairs / Re: African Adaptation Of Israel - Palestinian Conflict And The MiddleEast Crises by Mordecai(m): 9:28am On Oct 08, 2023
This adaptation is highly deceptive as it deliberately omits some very important facts in the narrative.

Firstly, it tells us the Zulus only came back and own just the land they bought. This is outrightly false.
For over 2000 years, Jews have been living in the land. They had just been subjugated by several imperial powers. They were also scattered across not just Europe, but the Middle East and Africa. But they retained connections to their ancestral land, performing pilgrimages throughout the ages, sometimes if only just to be buried on that land. Maimonides is a famous example of that.

Secondly, likening the present day Palestinians to the Yoruba is a false analogy. The Yoruba have lived where they are today for thousands of years, and as far as everyone knows, they did not displace anyone to settle where they are today. This is in complete contrast to the situation in the Middle East where even the name Jerusalem was given to the place by the Jews. A more truer adaptation would be that of Plateau State where the Fulani are displacing the original indigenes. If one day, the original indigenes get up and take back their land, the Fulani would then form a PLO to fight and terrorize these indigenes. Supporting such a PLO would be unjust.

Obi is not an Einstein, and we Nigerians know that. We really do not need an Einstein to move this country forward. We chose Obi because he has the sincerity it takes to move the country forward. His antecedence also shows he will not run a transactional government. That is what this country needs now.

Carcholce:
Sorry if this offends anyone here, Peter Obi is not really learned as campaigned. During the interview, he froze several times when he realizes he wasn’t driving any points. He just talks and talks like a rolling ball, rolling into a ditch. He freezes and starts looking up to ascertain if he was actually making sense, I knew it had nothing to do with his internet signal because I saw him blink while looking up and away from the camera. the interviewers kept calling to him and he ignores until they call for a quick break.

Is this the man some people were selling to Nigerians? Tinubu is no better, Atiku is worse but I am really disappointed Obi isn’t any different. Yesterday was actually my first time spending time in front of the TV watching him in an interview.

It is. The Muslims in Taraba are industrious, hardworking and have the funds they need to run a campaign. In contrast, the Christians are majorly civil servants and rural farmers. TY's funds and guidance helps make a lot of difference.

Rereaad my comment to understand what I wrote. By election day, Bwacha's supporters simply queued behind Kefas.

Note that the Christians have a clear majority in Taraba. Their margin of lead is not negligible. They could lose a lot of votes and still beat whoever the Muslims queue behind.

Just know this - in Taraba, it's all about religion. And each group would not mind voting the most mediocre person among them if it means keeping the top position.

Their Christians distrust the Muslims a lot, and it's likely not unrelated to the happenings in neighboring Adamawa State where the Muslims dominate despite the Christians having a slight majority.

Monsieur, politics in Taraba is mostly about religion.

In Taraba, the Muslims always band together behind one of their own. Once that happens, the Christians realign their own votes and give it to one of theirs, as they have a very clear majority in the state.

That has always been the norm. The prominent Christian candidates will always watch the polls to see how the Muslims swing. If they swing towards their own, as they always do, the Christian religious leaders would do the same, pick one Christian candidate and their followers would vote him enmasse.

So, nobody rigged out the Prof. He was outvoted.
