Blogging is fun folks but please don't use to defame peoples life and characters. It is a cold war of words between popular actress Toyin Aimakhu and popular Lagos based blogger Michael Alonge. The actress is threatening to sue him for publishing defamatory stories about her saying she was not beaten to a pulp by her alleged lover Seun Egbegbe and neither did he storm a movie set to demand a range rover he gave her as a gift.

In her letter sent through her lawyers, the actress wants all defamatory stories about her deleted as well as a public apology otherwise she would be taking legal action. Responding however, Michael Alonge has called the actress a liar saying that the incidents did happen and that if she is not lying then her lawyers simply want attention.

Michael was given today, November 27 as a deadline to comply with the terms of the letter or face legal action, we can only wait to see what will happen.

According to an article on Nigeria Camera website, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi has advocated the use of bicycles in some areas in Lagos. According to him, such would reduce daily traffic gridlocks.

Oyeyemi said this at a one-day Transport Summit held in Lagos, where he urged the Lagos State government to fully implement the State Traffic Law 2012. Speaking, Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode said his government had strong political will to take tough decisions and implement effective strategies to bring about a robust traffic management system in the state.

He also reiterated the need to empower traffic officials and install monitoring cameras at major road intersections to record traffic offenders, while advocated the use of bicycles as alternative means of transportation in some areas of the city to reduce traffic congestion. Ambode admitted that immediate solutions were needed to achieve future aspirations in respect of Lagos traffic.

The presidency has described the alleged looting of military fund by Col. Sambo Dasuki as alarming and reckless. Dasuki who was the national security adviser is standing trial for four-count charge of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms and was accused of embezzling $2 billion which was meant for the purchase of arms in 2007 to date.

Leadership reports that the presidency was shocked by revelations contained in an interim report on how security funds were looted in the country presented to it by a 13 man committee a week ago. Mr. Femi Adesina who is the special adviser to the president on media and publicity said the result of the reports were worrying considering the fact that the intervention funds were made available during the period when the military fighting insurgency desperately needed ammunition and equipment.

Adeshina said the committee analyzed financial interventions from some organizations provided to the office of the NSA, defence headquarters, army headquarters, naval headquarters and Nigerian air force headquarters, both in local and foreign currencies. He said the report instigated the president’s order that Dasuki be arrested and other persons connected with the transaction.

He said: “So far, the total extra budgetary interventions articulated by the committee is Six Hundred and Forty Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Seventeen Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Five Hundred Naira and Eighteen Kobo (N643,817,955,885.18).

“The foreign currency component is to the tune of Two Billion, One Hundred and Ninety Three Million, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Thousand US Dollars and Eighty Three Cents ($2,193,815,000.83).

Legendary pop star, 2face Idibia has been awarded a chieftaincy title as the ‘Tafidan Kudendan of Kudendan’ by His Royal Highness Galadima of Kudendan Chiefdom, Kaduna State.

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at the annual Bankers’ Dinner organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria disclosed on Friday night, talked about how the nation is losing N256bn monthly to pil price crash.

He said:
“Given the sharp fall in oil prices, federation allocation to states have dropped by an average of about N2bn for each month. “Similarly, average inflows of foreign exchange into the CBN have fallen to by about $1.3bn per month; this has led to a sharp decline in our forex reserves from as high as $37bn as at June 2014, to $30bn.

He said the nation needs to stop to importing everything. He encouraged Nigerians to patronize locally made goods. Despite the huge drop in the nation’s forex earnings as a result of the fall in crude oil prices, the CBN boss said Nigeria’s import rose to N917bn in September and might likely hit N1.2tn in December.

He said:
“Nigeria cannot continue on this path of importing everything and anything. Indeed, it is both unacceptable and unsustainable and that was the reason we decided at the central bank to prohibit items we can produce here from accessing forex from the central bank.

“The last time we had oil prices at $50 per barrel for an extended period of time was in 2005 and our total import bill for that year was only N148bn. Yet, in the first nine months of this year, our total import bill has already risen to N917bn, and by logical extension, it is heading towards N1.2tn by the end of the year.

“The CBN will in due course embark on a national campaign called PAVE which stands for: Produce Locally, Add Value and Export. We definitely cannot survive as a people by importing everything and anything.’’

42-year-old unemployed Maison Sere was crowned Zimbabwe’s ugliest man at a pageant in Harare today November 21st. Sere, who has several missing teeth and dressed in torn overalls, beat 5 other contestants for the $500 Mr Ugly prize – a large sum in a country facing massive unemployment.

“I want to thank God for winning this title, last time I came fourth. I just want to thank the judges for recognising me as the winner,” Sere told journalists during a night of festivities attended by 200 revellers.
Show organiser David Machowa said he created the pageant in 2012 to celebrate “beauty in ugliness”.

“The show last night was very successful, and I still have plans to host Mr Ugly world,” he said.

The Commercial court in Uganda has ordered MTN Uganda to pay a sum of Shs 2.3bn (about $662,000) which is about N190 million in damages to EzeeMoney Limited for sabotaging its business. Information gathered revealed that EzeeMoney, which runs an e-money business, obtained a contract from MTN for the provision of digital transmission [E1] and 30 fixed telephone lines to carry out its mobile money business.

After agreeing to the terms of the contract, EzeeMoney then contracted Yo! Uganda Limited (YUL) to implement the service after Uganda Communications Commission, the regulator, approved it on December 2012, to use the 7711 short code to enable its customers to subscribe for e-money services.

But in 2013 after doing a review of the contract, MTN canceled it, saying EzeeMoney was a direct competitor to its mobile money business. Through AF Mpanga and company advocates, EzeeMoney went to court, saying MTN’s action “restricted and distorted competition.”

EzeeMoney accused MTN of damaging its ties with YUL and deprived it of services of other telecommunications operators. It argued that MTN used its exclusivity agreements to stop its agents from working for any other firm with similar business, further limiting competition.

Delivering judgement in a suit filed by Ezeemoney limited on November 6th, the presiding judge, Justice Henry Peter Adonyo ordered MTN to stop acting in an unlawful and anti-competitive manner, which denies other businesses an opportunity to prosper. There was a robbery incident at Jumofak, Ikorodu, Lagos this morning. According to eye-witnesses, a lady was on her way to work by 6am when a thief attacked her with a dagger, gave her a cut on her left arm and collected her phones.

Nigerian Actress Maureen Ihua Kidnapped In Port Harcourt Rivers State, Abductors Demand N10 Million Ransom.One of the latest victims of abduction in Rivers State has been identified as Maureen Ihua, a popular Nollywood actress based in Abuja.

The excellent role interpreter was abducted at a function in Port Harcourt on Tuesday the 17th of November 2015.

According to eyewitnesses, 3 gunmen kidnapped Maureen Ihua on Ada George road in the capital city of Rivers State yesterday. She is said to have been taken to an unknown location in Port Harcourt.

Today her abductors contacted her family members and demanded for 10 million Naira ransom. May God protect us all from these kidnappers working overtime to make end of the year money.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has reiterated the upper chambers' readiness to investigate, at all cost, the alleged N25 billion Treasury Single Account (TSA) fraud. Senator Dino Melaye's on Tuesday moved a motion over a newspaper article allegedly blackmailing the Senate for pointing out the alleged fraud.

Reacting to the motion, Saraki said no blackmailing will stop the senate from carrying out its duty.

“No amount of either blackmail or intimidation will stop us from doing the work we have to do.

“We have a responsibility here to ensure that there are no leakages in government funds and if there are, we will call the attention of the public and do whatever it takes to salvage the situation; it is our responsibility.

“The fact about the TSA will come out and everybody will have opportunity before the committee to state the fact, the facts will speak for themselves,’’ he said. He noted that the Senate would soon inaugurate Standing Committees to enable it to begin its oversight function fully.

Almost everybody in Nigeria keep wondering why some people who are supposed to be prosecuted considering the amount of money they have embezzled in this country are still left alone to be working freely while the government keep "chasing shadows". Some have even taken it as the order of the day and some are disappointed because they believed they voted for change but yet things are still going on the way it was before.

Well an article on Naij.com claims that President Buhari have answered the questions in every households mouth as it reads:

President Muhammadu Buhari has explained why those who have allegedly stolen government funds in the past are yet to be prosecuted. The president gave the reasons while speaking with a delegation from the Foursquare Gospel Church on Monday, November 16, in Abuja.

Buhari stressed that his administration would give full regard to due process and the rule of law in the prosecution of those found guilty in corruption. Restating his commitment to recovering stolen funds, the president noted that the efforts of the present administration would be fully within the ambit of the law.

“Under military rule, people could be arrested and held on the basis of suspicion, but in a true democracy, anyone accused of an offense must be presumed innocent till pronounced guilty by a court of law,” he said. Buhari revealed that his administration was diligently building up its case against those accused of corruption, getting necessary evidence and facts, before formal charges are brought against them.

During the meeting, the president congratulated the Foursquare Church in Nigeria on its 60th anniversary convention which was concluded on Sunday, November 15. In his speech, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev Felix Meduoye, commended the Buhari-led federal government for its positive strides in the war against corruption and insurgency. He added that the church would continue to pray for prosperity and peace in the country.
