Some members of a syndicate, which specialised in sending Nigerian girls to Dubai in United Arab Emirate (UAE) for prostitution have been arrested by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). Investigation shows that such girls are made to strip naked and their nudity videotaped which is later used to blackmail them. The syndicate is behind two videos which went viral on the social media recently. The videos showed two girls, stark naked, promising a woman, rolling the tape that they would never run away with her money. They also took oaths that calamitous events would befall them if they failed to keep to their promise. Addressing journalists at NAPTIP Lagos, Office, Ikeja, Assistant Director, Head, Press and Public Relations, Mr Josiah Emerole, said the agency was already working with Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) and an international agency to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate in Dubai. He noted that five suspected ‘madams’ had been arrested in Nigeria. Emerole listed those arrested as Blessing Gabriel (25), who is the prime suspect, Precious Ejiro Owoh (29), Rose Gabriel (25), Priscilla aka Prisca Effiong Bassey (33) and Terry Homuere Smooth (38). He said: “Early August 2015, the media, especially the social media, was awash with nude visuals of two of our citizens, Ann and Chisom, filmed and uploaded by some of our unpatriotic citizens engaged in trafficking of girls from Nigeria to Dubai, the United Arab Emirate for sexual exploitation. “The nude visuals which caused some uproar within many circles in Nigeria and raised - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/rich-ladies-sending-nigerian-girls-to.html#sthash.XZNq9ptG.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Popularly know as Puff Daddy back in the days and currently known as Sean “Diddy” Combs is #1 on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest paid stars in hip hop, pushing off Jay Z and Drake on the 2015 “Hip Hop Cash Kings” tally, which was revealed on Tuesday. 45 year old Diddy made an estimated $60 million between June 2014 and June 2015, from investments outside of music, such as his TV network Revolt and Ciroc vodka. Runner up Jay Z, also 45, earned an estimated $56 million from business ventures in music, sports and lifestyle. His 22 shows with his wife, singer Beyonce, helped boost his earnings, Forbes said. Canadian rapper Drake, 28, came in at No. 3 with $39.5 million, the bulk of which came from touring, as well as high profile endorsements from Sprite and Nike and his Apple collabo. Dr. Dre has been doing for decades. Recently he’s spent more time making good money—$620 million last year, the highest annual payday of any musician ever, thanks to Apple’s $3 billion Beats buy—which is why it’s something of a surprise that he ranks No. 4 with $33 million, the result of smaller checks from Apple. He also exec-produced biopic Straight Outta Compton and released his long-awaited third album, both of which will boost his total on next year’s list. #5 Pharrell $32 M. The "Happy" singer is one of the more diversified performers on the list, earning big checks from touring, music, his role as a judge on The Voice and his clothing lines. Nicki Minaj was the only woman to crack into the top ten of the highest paid hip hop acts, coming in at No. 9 with $21 million from touring and endorsements. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/diddy-tops-jay-z-drake-on-new-forbes.html#sthash.uRNHgA3q.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Were are those young actors and actresses? 50 year old Viola Davis made history at the Emmy Awards by being the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She won for her role as Annalise Keating on ABC's hit freshman show 'How to Get Away with Murder'. The "How to Get Away with Murder" star became very emotional as she received the award and gave a thank you speech. She said: ' In my dreams and visions, I seemed to see a line, and on the other side of that line were green fields, and lovely flowers, and beautiful white ladies, who stretched out their arms to me over the line, but I couldn't reach them no-how,' Davis said, quoting Harriet Tubman in her acceptance speech. 'Let me tell you something: the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. 'You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.' Thank you for taking us over that line. Thank you to the Television Academy.' Davis, who is a graduate from the prestigious Juilliard School, concluded. Her speech was a highlight from the show and also drew a standing ovation from Taraji P. Henson in the crowd. An emotional Davis continued on by thanking the other actresses of color, including Washington, Halle Berry, Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union and fellow nominee Taraji P. Henson. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/history-is-made-1st-african-american.html#sthash.CmJbYD0e.dpuf cc lalasticlala

At least 9 people died on Friday in a fatal accident involving a trailer and 2 commercial buses in Odukpani area of Calabar Cross River State. This is coming barely one month after about six people died on the same spot. The incident, which occurred at about 10pm on Friday, was allegedly caused by a trailer driver who defied traffic and rammed into two commercial buses coming from the opposite direction at the Odukapni end of the highway. An eye-witness said a trailer coming from Ogoja to UNICEM plant at Mfamosin to collect cement, had attempted to manoeuvre a tight traffic situation, not knowing that there was a gridlock in front. Consequently, the truck driver suddenly lost control and rammed into three other vehicles, killing all the passengers in two commercial buses, before ending up with a truck coming from the opposite direction Though officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that nine persons died in the accident, an eyewitness stated that the road mishap might have claimed about 20 passengers, as each of the affected buses carried about 10 passengers each. The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ikechukwu Igwe said: “The impatient driver left his lane and probably lost control and rammed into the Sienna and Picnic before colliding with another truck coming from the opposite direction. The cause of the accident was impatience. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/fatal-accident-claims-9-people-on.html#sthash.1l4RNhW0.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Members of Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) in Onitsha, Anambra State have said that the clampdown on its members by security agents would not silence the movement until the Biafra state is actualised. Mocha said: “Buhari cannot stop us from actualisation of a sovereign state of Biafra even if he sends the entire security operatives in the country to the South East and South South geo-political zones. Infact, it is an act of cowardice to do that, because we are a non-violent organisation fighting to actualise a Biafra Republic.”MASSOB Deputy Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, stated this yesterday in Onitsha while speaking with journalists. He alleged that policemen, soldiers and other security operatives barricaded the road leading to Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Memorial Library in Owerri, Imo State with Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) in a bid to stop MASSOB activities. “Those who wanted to pass to and from the area were thoroughly searched while our members who were coming to attend a meeting were prevented from entering the library venue,” he disclosed. “Our leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, who wanted to preside over the executive meeting had to put it off, citing security reason and to avoid casualty on the side of MASSOB.” He insisted that Buhari cannot stop them from existing, stressing,” if OBJ as president, who hated Ndigbo and what we stood for could not stop MASSOB for eight years, is it Buhari that will stop us.” Also, in a remark, Nnewi South Regional administrator, Mr. Tony Nwodo noted that, “Uwazuruike had urged the United States to rescue the Igbo nation from the Federal Government’s marginalisation and we look up to America for our emancipation.” We are fighting for a sovereign state of Biafra, which we marked its 16th year anniversary few days ago, saying that “struggle would be, forward ever and backward never.” - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/buhari-and-entire-security-operatives.html#sthash.XsTGJKdK.dpuf cc lalasticlala
