It was a strange sight indeed when a women gave birth to a strange looking beast in the hospital. According to Mzamzi Online news, a Zimbabwean woman gave birth to this strange looking baby in a Harare Hospital two days ago being the 14th of November 2015. The woman reportedly delivered after 10 months pregnancy.

Parirenyatwa Doctors were shocked to see the baby. "I’ve never seen such a thing in my life here at Parirenyatwa as doctors we know and believe that when a woman is giving birth, the head comes first and the legs last. To my own surprise this baby like creature brought her legs first" said Doctor Chenyeke.

The season for BBC African Footballer of the year award is here again and is quite unfortunate that their is no name like the great names like Didier Drogba is no were to be found and what is even more surprising is that none of the five nominees is a Nigeria. What does this say about the Nigeria National Team or our governing body?

Swansea City forward Andre Ayew was on Saturday morning named as one of five players shortlisted for the prestigious 2015 BBC African Footballer of the Year award and this year it seems he is the overwhelming favorite for the award. Algeria's Yacine Brahimi, the 2014 winner, is on the shortlist along with Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ghanaian Andre Ayew, Senegal's Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast.

The winner will be decided by African football fans, who have until 18:00 GMT on 30 November to vote for their choice. Andre Ayew won the award in 2011 with Yaya Toure also claiming it in 2013. The eventual winner will be announced on December 11 2015.

The Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, have approved the remuneration packages of each of the 37 ministers sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.According to Punch, a committee chaired by Chairman of Remuneration Committee, Mr. Abdullahi Inde, new packages prepared by the committee, had been ratified at a retreat held for commissioners of the agency, which was concluded recently in Owerri.

The recommendations of the committee concentrated on the allowances of political and judicial office holders as the salary packages will not depart significantly from the status quo. However, after the preparation of the new packages by RMAFC, it still has to be presented to the Federal Executive Council which has the responsibility to present it to the National Assembly as a bill for enactment as an Act of Parliament.

Chairman of RMAFC, Mr. Elias Mbam, on Saturday said that the new packages would soon be made public. He said the work was “going through a process of editing.” Presidency sources said that the new ministers would be paid in accordance with the existing statute because the reviewed package was not ready.

According to the current package, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola; Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed and other senior ministers will get N4,052,800 as housing allowance. The annual housing allowance is 200 per cent of a minister’s annual remuneration.

Each of the ministers is also entitled to N6, 079,200 as furniture allowance. The furniture allowance is 300 per cent of a minister’s annual salary. Unlike the housing allowance, however, the furniture allowance is paid once in four years. This means the furniture allowance per annum is N1,519,800. Should any of the ministers desire, they are also entitled to N8,105,600 as motor vehicle allowance.

The motor vehicle allowance is, however, a loan repayable by the end of the tenure of the minister. The annual basic salary of a substantive minister is N2,026,400. On monthly basis, this amounts to N168,866:66.

Apart from the monthly basic salary, there are other perks that each minister will receive at the end of each month. These include motor vehicle fuelling and maintenance allowance of N1, 519,800 (annual value) with a monthly value of N126,650. The vehicle maintenance allowance is 75 per cent of the annual basic salary.

Dino Melaye, a senator representing Kogi west, on Tuesday, raised the alarm over possible corruption in the management of the treasury single account (TSA). ‎ Melaye said some “financial scavengers and economic cankerworms” ‎were trying to sabotage the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari by mismanaging the TSA.

He alleged that a firm, ‘Remitter’, hired to manage the TSA, was making N25 billion in one day in mopping up‎ about N2.5 trillion on the loose.

Melaye asked the senate to give him an opportunity to present a motion on the matter on Wednesday.
Senate president Bukola Saraki put the request to a voice vote, to which the “ayes” had it.‎ In July, Buhari had directed that all revenue due to the federal government or any of its agencies be paid into the treasury single account (TSA) or designated accounts maintained and operated in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). ‎

A circular issued to all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) by the former head of the civil service of the federation, Danladi Kifasi had urged the MDAs to ensure strict compliance with the directive to avoid sanctions.‎

A woman has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of rape after having sex with her daughter's 13-yr-old boyfriend. Elaine B. Goodman allegedly slept with the underage boy after grooming and flirting with him over text messages.

According to Mirror, the 44-yr-old appeared in court in Delaware, charged with three counts of third-degree rape and fourth-degree rape. What is it with Milf or should i say sugar mummies? Officers of the Smyrna Police Department received a report in March alleging an inappropriate relationship between Goodman and the 13-year-old.

Investigations showed Goodman had contacted the schoolboy via text message and met up with him to have sex on the night of March 15. Goodman is said to also face two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact and sexual solicitation of a child.

Two overzealous LASTMA men beat up a company driver in Alakija area of Lagos yesterday before taking cover. The unidentified officers descended on the driver moments after he turned down their bribe request.

They dragged him out of the car and beat him to coma. A witness who sent these photos said the men later removed their shirts and escaped to avoid jungle justice from the members of the public. Na wa ooo for this our country oo, so now even the so called officers of the law who are to ensure the free flow of traffic are nothing but idiots.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has fined Guinness Nigeria Plc, N1bn for violating laid down rules.

Punch Newspapers reports that NAFDAC accused Guinness of allegedly revalidating expired products without authorisation and supervision, and exposing its raw materials to rodents.

An excerpt of the letter from NAFDAC, which was obtained from Punch, reads “In view of the above, you are further required to take the following actions: disclosure of all your warehouses in the country and submission of inventory level of the stock thereof; submit a written voluntary consent of forfeiture for destruction of the expired and revalidated raw materials discovered in your warehouse; and submit a notarised undertaking to comply with all the guidelines, rules, regulations and enactments of the agency, and to refrain from any future violations.”

Oyo State Police paraded a 400-Level male student of the department of Transport, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Kayode Oluwaseyi, for allegedly breaking into students’ hostels. Oyo Police Commissioner Leke Oyebade said the suspect also stole valuable property and sometimes raped his female victims.

The police boss said the suspect belonged to a notorious criminal gang aka, three Mopols. Oluwaseyi was paraded with two others, Adeyemi Taiwo and Adeyemi Kehinde, who were said to have been receiving some of the stolen items.

Mahmud Yakubu is a Nigerian academic and current Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mahmood was appointed to office by President Muhammadu Buhari on 21 October 2015 and has been sworn-in today being the 9th of November 2015, succeeding Amina Zakari, who served as acting chairman.

Mahmud Yakubu was born in Bauchi State, Northen Nigeria. He completed his basic and secondary school education at Kobi Primary School and Government Teachers College, Toro, respectively. He proceeded to the University of Sokoto (now Usmanu Danfodiyo University), where he became the first and, to date, only Nigerian from the North to obtain a first-class degree certificate in history. In 1991, Mahmud graduated from the University of Oxford with a doctorate in philosophy, (PhD) specializing in Nigerian history.

The Bauchi State Government offered him a scholarship to study at both the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. He went on to become a three-time recipient of the Overseas Research Scholarship, and also won the Commonwealth Scholarship from the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Yakubu is a lecturer, guerrilla warfare expert, and professor of political history and international studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy. Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmud served as the executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, being appointed to office in 2007 by then-President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. During his tenure as secretary, a National Book Development Fund was established, supporting 102 journals of professional associations.

Yakubu also served as Assistant Secretary of Finance and Administration at the 2014 National Conference. In 2013 he was awarded an honorary fellowship to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

The question now in every Nigeria citizen is: will he be as selfless as his predecessor? Will he not be a partisan tools? Will he run this judicious office with transparency?

The trial of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over alleged four count charge of false declaration of assets and acceptance of about N70million bribe, took a dramatic turn on Monday, as the prosecution counsel failed to produce witnesses against the ex-minister.

After Orubebe pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against him, the counsel to the prosecution, Ibrahim Usman, told the court, that he would like to request an adjournment since his witnesses were not in court.

The defence counsel, Selekeowe Larry, asked the tribunal to demand a statement of necessary evidences, according to rule 5 subsection 1, of the rules of the tribunal. The tribunal judge, Umar Danladi, however, said the matter yearning for determination at the court was not for the prosecution counsel to state the evidence but for them to produce the said witnesses to do so.

He frowned at the inability of Mr. Usman and his team to produce the witnesses. The request by Mr. Larry to have his client released on bail was not granted, as Mr. Danladi said the court had no reason to discuss his arrest or bail. He said Mr. Orubebe was expected to always appear before the court.

Mr. Danladi ruled that the matter be adjourned till 26 November for a definite hearing.

More than a year after her mother, Hope Ruller died, Mary Kersting kept the decomposing body of the 93-year-old woman in her flat in Gloversville, Upstate New York and stole more than $13,000 (£8,600) in social security checks belonging to Hope Ruller.

Kersting, who lied to her niece about her mother still being alive, claimed she couldn’t afford to have her mother buried.

"She also explained that one day led to the next and although she thought about calling authorities. She just didn’t do it." Fulton County Public Defender Gerald McAuliffe said. Although Hope has been buried next to her husband, Kerting's niece, who didn’t want to be identified, said her grandmother ‘left this earth with no dignity’.

Reports are reaching us says that another building has collapsed in Ojodu Berger area of Lagos state, leaving two brothers and a baby boy dead. This comes barely two weeks after a three-storey building collapsed in Odunfa, Lagos Island, although there were no deaths recorded in that incident.

According to Tribune, the incident occurred on Saturday morning and the casualties were confirmed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which has been at the forefront of an on-going rescue mission. The report further confirmed that the incident took place at Orisha Street, Isheri Magodo, Imodium, Ojodu/Berger, where the baby boy was the first to be recovered dead.

Also, a woman with two out of four other trapped children, was recovered injured and rushed to Tabasco General Hospital. The siblings who died, Sylva Odiah and Sayo Odiah, were 24 and 15 respectively, while the rescue team was still trying to recover 11-year-old Clinton Odiah and eight-year-old Endurance Odiah.

The Nation reports that Mayflower Hospital, where the mother of seven was initially taken, rejected her because ‘there was no card’ before she was quickly rushed to Tabasco Hospital. A resident said that the building, a bungalow, did not collapse by itself. He said: “Around 6am, we heard a loud sound. But we did not know that the upper part of another building beside the bungalow has fallen on it.

“Unfortunately, it fell just on the room where Mr. Godwin Odiah’s children were sleeping. The man has seven children but three of them are not around. “He was the one who saw it and started screaming for help. He said he was in the bathroom when he heard the sound but did not know that it was in his compound.

“Another building also collapsed again but I don’t know if anyone was killed.

“Government needs to do something in this area. It is sandy and water logged. I think the incident is not unconnected with the heavy rain and the topography in the area.” Emergency workers comprising NEMA, the Lagos state fire service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the police were on the ground to manage the situation. While confirming the incident, Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA’s spokesman for the southwest, said the collapse was caused by mudslides from the cleavage of a hill beside River Ogun.

Came across an old video on Youtube, were Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, founder of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu shared his thoughts on Biafra to his congregation. In the video below, he acknowledged Nigeria as one of the richest oil producing country, and also emphasized that if Nigeria can not unite as one then it should divide.

In his own words;

“In some countries, Nigerians are treated as monkeys. One of the richest oil-producing countries in the whole universe. That chain that is holding Nigeria will break this night in Jesus name.”

“If we must be one Nigeria, let it be one Nigeria, but if it can’t be one Nigeria, let us divide. I repeat it, so that when they begin to misquote me, catch me right. “If Nigeria is divided, some Igbo people will like to be Hausa. Off course you know that. So, everybody should be allowed to go to where they want. Nothing sheds the light more than the truth. Nothing enlightens the ignorant more than the truth. Nothing frees the enslaved more than the truth. Nothing liberates the mind more than the truth.

Nothing purges the evil more than the truth. Nothing hurts the vile more than the truth. Nothing troubles the murderous more than the truth. Nothing exposes the reprobate more than the truth. Nothing burns the slanderer more than the truth.

Without truth there can be none of these blessings or virtues: only darkness, deceit, ugliness, suspicion, hate, carnage, violence and the enthronement and celebration of bitter and wretched souls. Without truth evil goes from strength to strength. Without truth the wicked crush innocent souls. Without truth the oppressor continues to thrive and flourish but with truth the righteous rise and reach the top. Without truth, nations wither and perish but with truth, they prosper and excel.

A country that cannot make a distinction between those who seek to peacefully exercise their right of self-determination and those who terrorise, kill and maim others in an attempt to impose their faith. There are many truths that the Nigerian people will have to come to terms with before our nation can be at peace with itself.

Six Nigerian women have made the country proud again by winning the TechWomen 2015 Action Plan Pitch competition held at the Google Headquarters, Mountain View, California. The competition which involved teams from twenty (20) other countries from Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East was part of a 5-week TechWomen exchange program organized by the United States Department of State.

The "Action Plan" is an activity recently introduced to the programme to give the participants opportunity to collaborate on a joint project to give back to their community when they return to their respective home countries. Six winning teams were selected from twenty groups and awarded a seed grant of $2,500 each to execute the project. The Nigerian team took the first position with their Action Plan called “STEM in a box”. While presenting the award to the team on the 27th of October 2015, Toro Orero, Managing Partner, DraperDarkFlow said “The Nigerian team not only won at the panel, but also won the audience votes.”
