14: You pretend like you know SA history a lot and you know nothing. Zimbabweans never worked in SA mines, even today you wontfind a single Zimbo working in the mines. Zimbabwe was a well of country.Yes, thats why there were invisible steam trains that transported mine workers from Zimbabwe/Rhodesia into South africa's Tansvaal and also thats why you guys morphed an original song in ndebele language "shosholoza" into Zulu. I also find it quite odd as to how the Malawians, Zambians and Mozambiquecans could make it all the way from their far off borders to work in the mines and the closer Zimbabweans would miss out on that opportunity. Zims must have been claustrophobic Fascinating! |
14: The Zim guys are angry at this new immigration laws, lots of restuarants are gonna feel the pain, most waiters are zimbabeans, cheap larbour at its bestThe Zims should be angry, they've been with you since the early "shosholoza" mining days and this is how you treat them in exchange for all the "europeans" buying up all your land and property. Shame ***in south african accent*** |
THIS THREAD HAS TURNED INTO AN EPISODE OF GENERATIONS! EISH! |
^^^^ Tell them o! |
sostoz: lol fact is we are related to botswana, lesotho and swaziland. becoz we are all bantuz. immigraton laws will not be a big issue bcoz they wont need a plane ticket to go home. lol any positive things in this nairaland anyway it's a nice site ...world class kudos to the administrator ...nigerians are gud in ICT and home videosDon't you have land borders ![]() PS, i can show you how related your are to Somali Bantu, that doesn't tell us much at all. |
14: Its long overdue, people have been abusing SA immigration laws. To such an extent that SA citizens lost their free visa requirement to UK, thanks to Nigerians.Another huge lie. The reason SOuth Africa lost visa waivers to Uk primarily had to do with the numerous number of Paki and indians that bought Sa passports for cheap and made their way to England. |
paniki: Nigerians abroad are synonymous with drug dealing and illicit activities but there are upstanding, educated and law-abiding Nigerians scattered among the rot in many countries across the world. I know a few personally, two are academics at the local varsities. In south Africa maybe, this may be true because the majority that travel there are an exponential brand of jobless and less well off groups who could not make it to the west. As far as other western countries, The US and the UK I can attest to, a majority of them are in school, set up legitimate businesses or integrate comfortably into main stream life. |
paniki: Don't mind me. I've just resigned myself to the fact that Naijas will forever call out the events of 2008. A lot like how black people in SA always bring up apartheid everytime there's some issue with white people.Tis the same sin we have to live with with the designation "drug dealer" when practically the percentage of people that do this relative to 150 million people is minuscle. Such is life. Ps I never said Shona outnumbered the Ndebele. What I said is the Ndebele are closely related to the zulu, share the same ancestors and share the same experiences concerning settler experiences so technically they can be considered South African in terms of "experience" |
delishpot: LoooooL I like Africans oooo. Chei typical African man mentality, lets not blame ourselves for our evil ways, lets blame the white man. Yes, we are not responsible for anything. If, we cant blame our women as ussual, lets hang it on the whitey. We dont need to grow, we do not need to start life afresh, we do not need to take our own destiny in our hands. Thank God the white man was stupid enough to buy our enemies sons and daughters from us a long time ago. so now we, have everlasting person to blame. Our children gay? Well, if we cant blame their motherswe blame whitey, our leaders loot us dry? If we cant blame women for making the men steal, we blame whitey, our men like to park balls to the left and sit at home for wife to go work and feed them? Well if nobody listens to us complaining and blaming women for wanting some dignity in their lives, let us blame the white man for helping our women see they are humans and deserve better treatments. Our girls are whores? Lets forget that its us men that buy their markets and keep them in business. Lets blame the women themselves or, we blame whitey for TV and exposure of our girls. why the hell should we take any blame when whitey used us as slaves. This has nothing do with assigning blame but just telling it as it is. Noone claimed here that Africans are fee from any blame. If your contention is we focus on ourselves now and forget that past, then thats a different arguement. |
paniki: ATTENTION sostoz!!!!!!Ahh paniki, always the apologist. |
datalossvictim1: Interesting thread. But somebody told me to stop reading all these things that it'll only turn me into a racist person.Might make you prejudice but "racist", most likely not. That is reserved for the "people" who invented and adhere to its attributes. |
RANDY1: Laughable .the truth none the less. |
RANDY1: the moors were not black . why do black people think everything with Africa is black. I have a moroccan friend who is Berber and Arab.sub saharan african blacks are not Moors. Moors were never black . most people's only exposure to moors is the fact that Othello was black in shakespeare's playWhat do you mean by "sub saharan" african blacks? Are there any other kind of blacks in Africa, if so who are they? Wonder why these beber were called the greek word for "black." Sand people would have been more appropriate. 19th century Eurocentric gibberish as usual! Please! |
RANDY1: what a load of gibberish . anything to save face .can't refute the claim eh! You must show the part of the statements that are untrue. |
sostoz: Apatheist:If any of what you said above makes sense then The Ndebele i.e. the Zimbabweans should be considered south africans by extension as well since they spawned from Zulu nations. Proto- Nguni tribes coming from east Africa headed southwards spawned the zulus, ndebele, xhosa, swati and other related tribes. Tswana, pedi and sotho are more related because they share the same ancestor. As for BLuIvy, we are only following her peoples customs. If you are born in Botswana of a Mostswana father, you are Botswana. Is it not recent that they changed laws for females to pass citizenship to their offspring. Please go back to school! |
sostoz: clever nigerians y protect drug lords in SA. u hate us bcoz we speak out about how nigerians behave in foreign countries. respect safricans in SA its not ur country. and liv black sa alone. unlike u we continue to build malls in our townships and our roads are tarred. we may be less intellects than u bt our gvnment listern when speak.I do not like drug dealers. Pleae deport them from your country with immediate effect. They are a nuisance. You don't know anything about nigerians outside of Nigeria, other than what you read on the internet. Your government has no choice but to listen because the institutional systems and structures left by colonials and settlers lasting 300+ years is still in place plus the struggle against apatheid mitigated the incidence of tribalism in favor of nationalism. You lucked out! |
sostoz: I am an south african, i found this site by luck. in sa im in port elizaberth I am suprised to see how u hate us. Xenophobic attacks never happen in PE...somalians own shops they are axempted from paying tax from thier suppliers now they sell cheaper than local shop owners. so the locals are forced to close thier shops. Secondly zimbabwean, malawian & other africans work for less than Safrcan poor causing a problem when locals r on strike they wnt to work , it bcomes a problem they are seen as traitors. i am not saying we are right but we have problems our peacefull democracy made us poor. we were excluded from the sa economy fr far too long. No safrican planned to hate other africans, we are not fools by avoiding conflict with whites peace is everything. my neibours are zims by the way we live peacefully they came to c ma new born child and bought sum gifts.its not as bad as bbc potrays it .THe usual sob story. How can a foreigner become a traitor?. Is it not your country. Can you not create jobs or figure out ways to eliminate the competition by using your brains. Why are you not chasing out all the "europeans", Pakistani and chinese that are flooding your country as well, setting up businessess and stealing your jobs? |
RANDY1: Bottom line : black people would still be running around naked in leaves and living in mud huts ,killing each other with voodoo ,tribal warfare and enslaving each other etc.Yes, just like most Northern europeans who would still be running around worshipping Odin,Loki and thor, committing acts of cannabalism, and running around with horned hats and deer skin if the civilized romans( who stole most of their philosophies and know how from Africa/Middle east) hadn't refined their barbaric azzes. Most of Sub saharan africa was shielded because of the formidable barrier of the sahara before your "thieving" kind found a way to cross through the atlantic and plunder in the name of "civilization" where would Europe be without Africa. War, pestilence, broke, bankrupt, |
Rossikki: You have time, honestly.Thats why I didn't respond. was like naturalization ?? |
@ poster. The author of the articleis very much right but unfortunately AA have been severly brainwashed to believe that their immediate ancestors contributed nothing to modern or western civilization, therefore they are of no relevance. This brainwash goes so deep that some groups of AA's that call themselved Black hebrew israelites claim to be non desecneded from Africans but of tribes that existed in and around egypt, despite the fact that a simple DNA test could determine their West.central African origins. All I can say is SHame! |
Elliotwiz1: told you not to insult me when quoting me but it seems you never learn.you must learn to respect the idea of your opponent!.Elliotwiz The descendants of the white settlers who followed cecil rhodes in his quest of british imperialism are who you are refering to as "white Africans". These people have no culturual or spiritual affinity to the land they presumably "bought" and conviniently refer to themselves as such only for the economic benefits they attain from the resources they control in Africa. African Americans on the other hand were forcefully removed from their homelands without consent or any sense of a better life where they were gong to, treated like scum for decades despite all the "labour" they put into building America an only just in recent history have been afforded equal rights as other Americans. There is no comparison. Apples and oranges my friend. |
EroZA: After reading many threads here,I thought this forum is south African....keep your forum and topics national so that nobody bothers youBantu education. ![]() ![]() |
EroZA: Kena le wena ausi wakaPlease stop this rudeness and speak a language that is understandable by all. THis is not Tswanaland. Imagine me speaking Hausa on a South African forum. THe audacity! |
BluIvy: Actually, I am done with this Pathetic person. I am done. Some of us do not get joy out of insulting people but one gets tired of all insults meted at people who are not Nigerians. Am done with this one, hope you will also do the same in stopping them.Nah the naija way of doing things. sorry o!. if you no like am then vamose nah!, it is not by force to interact with Naija people. PS, your papa na Botswana, you be Botswana. Shikena! |
soilsista: What do you call it then?insults would require deragotory terms. Teasing on the other hand is more of a playful mockery as in the reference to "generations" on TV and multi-lingual conversations. |
soilsista: Baboon ke? I'm starting to think that Nigerians are the rudest people ever. I swear!! You people are always ready to insult others just for nje. Na wa ooI don't insult SAfricans. |
Ps, you people should speak English. It is highly disrespectful to conduct a debate in multi languages. We know you do it on the "generations" TV show but this is nairaland. |
BluIvy: Actually I get irritated when people especially foreigners intentionally want to separate black SA from coloureds. Its the job of the apartheid masters and no one should add to it.1. I continue to wonder why BLuIVy always azz kissing SA policy. YOur kings made a deal with the british and kept you from being annexed by the settlers. You are a Motswana. We know some of your people live in South africa but their experiences are not the same as yours. Too much azz kissing is not good o! 2. The new laws as mentioned earlier are a necessity to curb loop holes in immigration as circumstances continiously change but my concern as always because of my experiences with refugees is that these laws of course will be circumvented by the "europeans" and the less priviledged will suffer the brunt effects of this law. 3.. The colored populations in SA can be classified as a distinct group based on culture, mixed origins and language and are not a concoction of the apatheid regime. Colored communities started to spring up as far back as when white settlers started coming into south Africa and interbreeding with the Khoi, Malay, indian and other native African groups. Unless you subsribe to the "one black blood" rule the Americans use to justify the definition of "black"and want to apply this to southern Africa then we can see where you are coming from. Otherwise you are incorrect. The Apatheid regime simply found it advantageous to continue the policy of highlighting such distinctions to further their nationalist agenda. 3. As regards who are indigenous of the southern most points of Africa, of couse the khoi- san are but they are native Africans much like the Xhosa. |
paniki: Please don't give whites too much credit, they can't use money to change laws. I can give you many examples where they have failed while you can give one or two where they have succeded. The recent e-toll litigation lasted several years with them losing. It's only after the ruling party lost some votes from the black middleclass in the May election that they are now promising to review it. Do you want more examples? Perhaps the land reform laws or black economic empowerment? They are forever challenging the employment equity laws which forces companies to hire black people. Just google "affirmative action killed babies" to see for yourself. Tell me if you want more example.THe only irony that I see is that most of the examples you have enumerated above are situations that are prevalent outside the "power" range of the Western cape and so will this particular law which will affect a majority of refugee/immigrants who reside predominantly outside of the western cape while a majority of the investors/expatriates/tourists as usual will find refuge in the legal wranglings that will be accomodating in this province. |
paniki: You like talking about the Western Cape. But I understand, it's a peculiar place in which black South Africans are out-numbered and have always been out-numbered since the Dutch landed on Cape Point in 1652. Cape Town is the first place that white people landed on in South Africa so it makes sense that they hold on so dear to it. White people have lived in that place for over 350 years and they are not going anywhere, regardless of any regulation. All they can do is moan and pay for endless court battles but that must not concern a Nigerian.Oh they are gonna do more than moan and groan, seeing that they have the finances and higly qualified lawyers, they usually end up watering down the laws for "their" people as usual and the ruling party usually buckles under that financial power pressure. In the end the laws will target the less affluent and less priviledged which is what they are intended to do in the first place in the guise of "reforming" immigration laws. I am African by birth, by descent, by heritage, by blood and by ancestry. Everything that happens on this continent should concern me or shouldn't it? Educate yourself or continue wallowing in ignorance about the continent. |
Tumisang: Keep your lessons to yourself! Rona basa rutehang we already know hore non tax-paying foreigners using our country's infrastructure with their countless unregistered "businesses", aren't adding any value to moruo wa naha."THAT"S RACIST"....in julius malema voice PS please no tswana. Speak enlgish so we all can comprehend, otherwise set up your own Tswana-land speaking forum The audacity! |
paniki: I support these new regulations. Naijas should not concern themselves with possible negative impact on tourism, investment, trade, etc. for a far away country like South Africa. Let us handle our affairs the way we see fit.We aint worrying about it,naija man no dey carry last but your DA premier is having a fit about it for sure, Hmmmm, wonder why? Could it be that the western cape being the last bastion of hope for "you know who" are worried their expatriates, tourists and their money who are financing and proping up that province will start thinking twice about doing business or migrating in mass to this percieved enclave. Food for thought. |
