If Arteta doesn't trust White, he would have started Gabu. One thing you need to understand is that modern day tactics are majorly based on positioning which means players that can comfortably play multiple roles on the pitch will always get the nod. Gabu played as our CCB during pre season but he couldn't offer what Saliba and White offer. This could be the reason why he is not getting playing time.
