PoliticsRe: Nigerian Judiciary: The Most Corrupt Institution In Nigeria by mowapa(m): 2:16pm On Feb 20, 2007
Am sure there are people who obviously feel disappointed at this verdict, believe me I'm not one of them grin .The judiciary has risen to the rescue of the nation again. We the people as voters should be the last decision maker on whether Atiku becomes our President. Nigerians are wise enough to make that call.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

The days of General Obasanjo is definitely numbered. If Chimaroke Nnamani's name was missing from the list of corrupt politicians, do we need to look any further? Obasanjo is not helping matters in Nigeria. Obviously, he is but encouraging absolute CORRUPTION.

I don't know who and what can be as corrupt as selective justice. A purported justice system that is only out to create scape goats. I am so much ashamed of an ostrich and greedy shameless leader as obasanjo. I feel a lot of pity for the poor inexperienced and ambitious EFCC boss. Let him not forget that William Shakespear says that "lowliness is a young ambitious ladder with which one climbs and pushes it over his colleague." . Nuhu may use power given to him by a Robinhood to harass enemies of his master, but Nuhu will be judged by the ultimate judge, his own conscience. Much as I like the idea of EFCC, history will yet tell whether what Nuhu is doing for Obasanjo is different from what Al Mustapha did for Abacha. If Nuhu wants to be wise he should know the line between serving a regime that must end 29th of May 2007 and serving Nigeria. Let Obasanjo-EFCC-NUHU posture not be a "cover me I cover you posture, holier than thou posture but immersed in corruption. Like Nuhu like all the guys Obasanjo has chosen as information ministers; very brilliant and intelligent but lacking in wisdom. A wise person looks back, projects into the future before taking a decision today.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Demands Probe Of N1.34 Trillion Spent On Roads, Power by mowapa(op): 7:26pm On Feb 18, 2007
@Alabiyemmy
The point i was trying to make is that the proof of OBJ may never be known until another regime come into power. IBB,ABACHA misdeed were not known to us and in the case of IBB,OBJ has refused to investigate any wrong doing by him. If Nigerian are waiting for Ribadu to probe this government, it will never happen, so ATIKU will remain the face of corruption till then.

I will show you such proof as soon as someone shows me IBB own. you know well that most African leaders misdeed is not made known until they are out of power e.g ABACHA. with time Naija will get to know of OBJ.

By the way how many secondary schools to start with fall under his senatorial district? How many post secondary students writing JAMB OR SSCE/NECO have benefited from this largess-1300?What of economic empowerment as regards those wanting to learn a trade, wanting capital to start a trade?

So what does it mean when the PDP give you a flag? I thought the party flag represent the fact that the bearer is the chosen candidate for that position. Go ask GOVERNOR 172 HOUSES. of Enugu, he got his flag.
Politics172 houses governor Receive PDP Party Flags, Despite 'indictment' by mowapa(op): 8:32am On Feb 17, 2007
Despite their 'indictment' by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Governor Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State and his Political Adviser and Commissioner for Local Government Matters, Chief Sam Ebenezer Ejiofor were yesterday presented with the party's flags as Senatorial and Deputy Governorship candidates. Nnamani is the senatorial candidate of the PDP for Enugu East Central Senatorial Zone while Ejiofor is the deputy governorship candidate of the party for the April polls.

For everyone that still believe OBJ and PDP are fighting corruption, you may be the BIG MUGU. It's okay to own 172 houses as a governor, but its not right to "write a dud cheque" that will get you disqualified as a senatorial candidate in Ogun State. whoa! For the Peoples Democratic Party's PDP presidential and national assembly candidates for the April polls, it is not yet celebration time.

Reason: the party's National Secretary Chief Ojo Maduekwe said yesterday that the tickets were still open till February 20, when the party would submit the final list of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission .

First PDP wanted Atiku and others back, now the party is saying their presidential ticket is still open. hum- hum and they said other parties were confused. wonder what OBJ has to say about this Maduekwe Ojo diarrhea

If blessing as defined is an infusion of something with holiness or divine will, then how do we account for wealthy nations that are avowed atheist?

Do hard work or working hard result in wealth?

Can you be wealthy without being blessed?

PoliticsRe: All Nigerians Must Be Ashamed: by mowapa(m): 4:46pm On Feb 11, 2007
@Iyke-D
Am glad you live in a "civilized society", you know very well such list as written will never see the light of day here(USA). Everything pertaining to that list is contrary to sense of justice and fairness

If your name is smeared or wrongly
accused the right to do is to go about clearing your name - whether it has political undertones or not.
This should be the essence of the justice system.
Are you aware that the process of clearing your name in this case, means you have to appear before a committee set up by the govt. whose impartiality cannot be ascertain. Beside that aren't you suppose to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt?
The truth be told, all these Nigerians we are defending will do exactly the same thing to their opponents
if they were the ones calling the shots.
So our sense of justice should now be clouded because, they might or would have done the same thing back? such argument does little to advance democratic principle.I expect better from you living outside the country. We are much exposed than this.

This Tejusuo guy you are defending , do you have the exact details of what he is being accused of by the
EFCC? Was he a member of PDP prior to joining ANPP? Can you vouch for him 100% that he has nothing to
hide regarding his dealings (financial) with the past or political office holders? Really, if he has nothing to
hide then he should be first in line kicking, screaming, and proclaiming his innocence. If he is bold enough
to want to become a senator, he should have enough guts to begin the process of clearing his name
The burden of proof rest with the prosecutor,Ribadu should be asked to substantiate why the dude is on his list not the other way round
There is an adage in Yoruba that say, the person that get hit by a fast moving car is not the one that gets the vehicle plate number.Follow the link to the tribune and see that picture and for once imagine that person to be your family, how would you feel? he cannot defend himself now cause he may be seeking treatment outside our shore.

For those who disagree - if you get a chance of driving down the highway here in the US, please ignore
the speed limit and go 20 miles/kilometers above the legal speed limit. If you are pulled over by a cop
and given a speeding ticket, please argue with him and inform him that you were not the only one going
fast or exceeding the speed limit. Try this and even yell at him and see whether you won't be handcuffed.
Texas or Georgia will be a nice place to try the above experiment.
What has this analogy got to do with how politics is played in Nigeria? at least there are posted rules in the two state you mentioned, what are the rule of engagement in our politics. If people like Mantu was accused and sanctioned by the house for collecting N40m as rent for a property that he owned is not on the list, where is fairness in this. where is Omisore name, he was accused of murder and won while in jail and PDP did not see him unfit then, where is Akala on this list,he was just given a flag by PDP.Daniel of ogun state?Agagu from my state? even Iyabo, the oracle daughter that was accused of financial complicity in the last ogunstate held festival of art and game.My bro! this list is a well intended one by EFCC, its just been hijacked by wicked soul for devilish means.

PoliticsPdp Want Atiku Back? by mowapa(op): 7:46am On Feb 11, 2007
PDP Woos Back Atiku, Ogbeh, Others
In a move that could be considered strange, but perhaps calculated to ensure that it goes into the general elections in April with little opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party at the weekend, began the process of ensuring return of its estranged members.

The National Secretary of the party, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, stated the new position of the party at a press conference in Abuja, just as the party's National Chairman, Senator Ahmadu Ali, explained reason behind the rejection of some gubernatorial candidates, who emerged from the party's primaries.

Reading from a prepared text, titled: "As our Doors Remain Open", Maduekwe pleaded with aggrieved members of the party to return, noting that whatever happened that led to their exit was a necessary sacrifice and should be put behind.

The PDP move, however, comes same day its staunch opposition, the Action Congress (AC) accused its (PDP) leader, President Obasanjo, of scheming to perpetuate himself in power.

In its submission to the ECOWAS fact-finding mission to Nigeria on the 2007 elections, the AC said against the wishes of well meaning Nigerians and the National Assembly, billions of Naira were appropriated for the procurement of electronic voters registration machine.

The party added that the scarcity of the machines from the onset was artificially being manipulated by the PDP in collusion with the INEC to ensure rigging of the forthcoming elections.

Pleading with the decampees, including vice president Atiku Abubakar, former national chairman of the party, Chief Audu Ogbeh, among others, to return to the party, the national secretary said the answer to their grievances should not be in the opposition.

Olusegun Oba-sanjo yesterday said the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP) retained the candidacy of Governor Gbenga Daniel despite the investigations carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commis-sion (EFCC) on his administration because "a known devil is better than a hidden angel".
Obasanjo who was addressing PDP supporters at the Abeokuta North Local Government Area said the party decided to endorse Daniel for the second term because his inadequacies were pardonable.
He added that nobody was perfect while urging PDP supporters to team up and give the party a landslide victory in the April elections.
