@ Bankole01 I cannot agree more with your comment, as a person with a degree in Criminal Justice and a Nigerian, the position of management in the police force should be attainable to me and others that may have the requisite talent and qualification . In the pursuit of my job, I have met and discussed with Nigerians who are highly placed in the American criminal/justice system that would be a boom to our police to work and make use of their expertise and I'm not talking about academics here but field officers |
all Nigerians are critics with no solution to offer. empty barrels making the loudest noise. What solution have you proffered ![]() |
@ Alabiyemmy If all the holy Angels descend on Earth, you won't believe! to each and everyone, may our collective effort be fruitful in salvaging Nigeria. |
Apparently the politicians do read this tread. This is what governor Kalu has to say: On his blueprint for the nation, Kalu promised to amend the relevant laws that would make the positions of Inspector General of Police and Commissioners of Police elective.. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2007/mar/11/national-11-03-2007-01.htm |
What makes democracy work is the presence of a viable and vibrant opposition, any nation politics devoid of this leave room for dictatorship, thanks we can still count on the judiciary. A C should sue for breach of contract. |
@ MAMAJAMA What you just described is no different from witness tampering, it could happen even in the most "civilized society". Our judicial system work, albeit in a slow way, but that should not preclude from tickling with it |
MR PRESIDENT! CAN YOU HONESTLY TELL NIGERIANS HOW MUCH IS LEFT IN THE CHILD CARE TRUST FUND THAT YOUR SON, BY STELLA INHERITED AFTER HER DEATH. WE ALL KNOW THAT 95% OF STATE GOVERNORS CONTRIBUTED PUBLIC MONEY INTO THE ACCOUNT ![]() |
We can all agree Dariye is so corrupt even the deaf knows it,OK? but the process of bringing him to accountability is so shrouded in secrecy that it would amount to injustice and nullify what we are trying to accomplish in Nigeria. Emotion has no place in dispensing justice, i am as angry as anyone regards this issue but our sense of justice must triumph over this mindless and selective way of fighting this WAR. |
Do you think OBJ would leave office without making sure Andy is secured by immunity to prosecution? OBJ corruption fight Na magomago. Shameful old goat! |
@Donzman If you've followed my posting in this forum, you may note I'm a sticker for rule of LAW. However the Jury system verdict as practiced by the U S is so iron clad that rarely do we have it overturned, just wondering since most people seem divided about our present system to the extent of labeling the Judiciary as corrupt maybe its time to change since we've adopted the American system of government anyway. |
The only legacy OBJ is worried about is to make sure a friendly president succeed him. The man is so afraid of his own shadow now. TOO MUCH MAGO-MAGO with our money ![]() |
I know we've never practiced the jury system, but I'm raising awareness if an alternative should be considered. |
Should Nigeria Change To The Jury System? In consideration of the victories scored by the V.P in court, should Nigeria change to the jury system? It seem to me that the wish of most people does not support or reflect the court decision. |
@DOSHBASS MY bro God bless u! I hate corruption, BUT MORE THAN anything I detest INJUSTICE. Now lets do it the proper way. He has to go. |
Naija please! don't come here preaching about morality. This being a country where an average citizen owe two passport and lie at every embassy to get a visa. Its the end that justify the means D-E-C-L-A-R-E ![]() |
I’m alive, treating catarrh in Germany, says Yar’Adua http://odili.net/news/source/2007/mar/8/818.html In a society where majority of Nigerian have no access to good medical care or facility and our leaders can go Abroad to treat catarrh, my people this country is in real trouble |
There is a Yoruba adage that say, agba ki wa'loja k' ori omo tutun wo crudely translated that an adult shouldn't let a minor issue become larger by not mediating it. The electorate are the adult here and will mediate this issue between OBJ and ATIKU |
The EFCC hasn't failed anybody. Nigerians fail themselves.Let see , um, if Nigerians have failed, and EFFC is made of Nigerians, then EFCC has , ![]() |
this may still come true ![]() |
OBJ and the people like El RUFAI and RIBADU will distroy all his houses in ABUJAUnfortunately if they do that, he will just "STEAL" more money to rebuild ![]() |
VINDICATION AT LAST! either he wins or not, ATIKU has won my vote for his tenacity in the face of adversary. He won his victory fair and square. Nigerian electorate should have the opportunity to accept or reject him at the poll, that decision should never be made for us by OBJ and his like. |
How do you spell vindication or victory A-T-I-K-U the court has finally spoken. Court rules: Atiku must contest in April - Judgment, triumph for democracy |
The campaign rallies of the ANPP presidential candidate in Bauchi State were also restricted to only two streets - Wunti Road and Azare Road - in Bauchi town even as the police insisted that Buhari must fly into the state with an aircraft or helicopter and not by road. These were disclosed to newsmen in Abuja by the Secretary to the ANPP Presidential Campaign Organi-sation, Eng. Buba Galadima. He said the explanation of the police was that if he should go to the state by road, the crowd of supporters that follow him could cause security breach. According to Galadima, “Police permits for rallies obtained seven days ago for the ANPP presidential rallies meant for March 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th 2007 in Gombe, Nasarawa, Plateau and Bauchi States have been withdrawn by the police for a flimsy reason that the governors of these states want to undergo tours of some local governments.” I seriously believe the top hierarchy the NPF has been compromised by politics, its time for a change on how we select our I.G |
I guess GOODLUCK automatically becomes the Presidential Candidate ,. What is in a name you ask? |
@ Ezeking Kalu like anyone enjoys the privilege of being a Nigerian and that by it self convey on him the right to vote and be voted for. YOU on the other hand have a duty to inform/educate the voters on why kalu is not electable, that right should not be denied either by selective indictment or otherwise . Nigerians have a right to cast their vote for whomever they want, you just make yours COUNT! |
I wish we can all wait for the judiciary to make the final pronouncement on the issue of this indictment. Neither Atiku or OBJ are bigger than Nigeria and since I'm assuming we're all democrats in this forum, it would be nice to wait for the court before writing political obituary |
Vice President Atiku Abubakar will know on March 7 whether he is constitutionally eligible to contest the presidential election in the April polls. This issue is going to be the major implication of the judgement that would be delivered by the Federal High Court in Abuja on the day in a suit brought by Atiku challenging his indictment by an Administrative Panel of Inquiry for abuse of office. THE Senate adhoc committee which probed the corruption list of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has defended Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others indicted, saying they are free to contest elections. Delivering the committee report on Thursday, its chairman, Senator Lawan Shuaibu, stated that persons who were in court over their indictments should not be barred from the April polls. According to the committee chairman, the impression being created by the publication of names of persons was that indictment absolutely disqualified a candidate from contesting elections. http://www.tribune.com.ng/02032007/news/news1.html |
@ azorjiu I don't know the story of Sweden yet, but would bring myself up to date on that. A proactive and listening gov is what has continuously eluded Nigeria, I'm sure Swedish are culturally homogeneous people unlike here where there are competing Intrest. If the people of Niger Delta decide to remain non-militant in pushing their demand successive government will continue to side line them. We are just unfortunate in Nigeria and by extension Africa to have political leaders who only pay attention to the most noisy person. |
They're bunch of IDIOT that have sold their constitutional right to the executive. I have never heard of a legislative that is so passive, you would think they are an appendage of the presidency it's only now that they are flexing muscle after majority of them are not coming back because OBJ has successfully weeded them out. YE YE people |
