Hello NLanders. To some, the day is wonderful while to others, its one hell of a boring day. Mine is in-between. For quite some time now I've been having problems with writing creatively and at times I do wonder if something is actually wrong with me when it comes to pouring ideas into pen and paper. I do get amazed how notable bloggers and authors use everyday words to paint imaginary picture in the minds of their readers and the ecstasy et al and the unforgettable experience they create at the end of it all. I've tried replicating and trying my hands to see how far I can go. But the problem is, when I write, the word are plain and void of meaning not to talk of humor. Most times when I plan to engage myself with a writing task, I do have analysis paralysis which often makes me put off the task to a latter time and even these latter times never comes. I've read more books, journals, etc. Learnt more words but it seems all these arent paying off as they ought to. To cut long story short, I need help! I'd love to take writing as a career and for as many writers in the house, what do you suggest I do to improve in this aspect of communication(Writing)? Your cousin. |

rafabenitez: nwanne I'm in a north-western state. And I think you really need to stop hating on the Army in general. I believe you are still grieving over the python dance experience in Abia state. Things like that are bound to happen not only in Nigeria but also in other parts of the world! I'm an igboman and I definitely DO NOT in anyway believe tha2 Kanu can make Biafra a dream come true for Ndigbo world wide with the way he carries himself as some kind of messiah! You fight unneccessarily because you dont know who you are. |

lazygal: they dont give any emotion killing dose as you civilians do think. The injections given to soldiers are the same as those given to the ordinary civiliance to fight bacteria and other life threatning ailments. However, the stress they do go through during trainings and drills can be pointed to as what contributes to this problem. Asides from this, the experiences on the battle-field, horrific death of a close pal, depression et al. To be a soldier is never easy. The cold nights, the blood sweats, bullet wounds, always trying to conceal the fear within by showing courage, the sleepless nights navigating through bushes and menuvering enemy bullets. Not everyone going into the military actually know what they are bargaining for. When it becomes worse is when you are married and all you are thinking of are ways of staying alive. The thought of leaving your new born baby fatherless is a scene that keeps repeating itself over and over again in your head. Wait! What about that young beautiful woman you married a year ago? She'd been with and supported your dreams right from your secondary school days to the point when you graduated frm the university and enrolled as a soldier. Would it be honourable you leave her as a widow? That is not even the problem. Before you left she broke the news that she's pregnant with a set of twins. The life of a soldier is that of a man that fights and stays awake day and night in order to protect the lives of people who do not care if they(the soldiers) are alive or dead. 2 Likes |
