Is UAC also Buying UPDC? Even with the not so impressive result, UPDC is still doing well. Now on full bid.

We need to be careful with AI analysis. Sometimes they are wrong. They have been falling in many areas not because they are not efficient but simply because they sometimes do not have complete data. I recall recently the story of a judge that wrote a judgment using Scales generated from Ai. They were all found to be non existent. I have often asked AI for The OS of many companies especially the banks and found out that answers given were wrong. Sometimes they analyse on outdated data.

Nah not true, e don pass.

Here’s what I got from ChatGPT:

According to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Q3 2015 fact sheet, at the end of September 2015, the equities market capitalisation was reported as ₦10.74 trillion (equivalent to about USD 53.94 billion), representing the value of listed equities only.

Currently,

₦ 89.4 trillion — This is the total market capitalisation of listed equities on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) as of August 1, 2025 .

💱 Conversion to USD
• Based on mid‑market exchange rates reported for August 4, 2025, of approximately ₦1,527 per USD , the equity market cap equates to about:
• USD 58.55 billion, when converted from ₦ 89.4 trillion (₦89,400 billion ÷ 1,527 ≈ USD 58.6 billion).
You need to understand the issue.
We are talking about the N27trillion windfall/gain by investors not the entire market cap.

I thought it usually comes out in July and is paid in August.

Seems i got my dates wrong.
Since they started auditing q2, it's often been September, with most payment in October November. That is for Zenith, Access, UBA,GTco and Fidelity I am not sure for the rest

So the bulk of our fuel we consume in this country is imported. Which way Nigeria?

Findings by The PUNCH, based on the latest fuel supply data obtained from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, showed that a staggering 71.38 per cent of Nigeria’s daily petrol consumption in May and June 2025 was met through imports.

The remaining 28.62 per cent was sourced from the $20bn Lekki-based Dangote Petroleum Refinery. This indicates that marketers, who are expected to access products locally with ease in the country, are instead spending the country’s scarce foreign exchange to import refined petroleum products.

The NMDPRA disclosed this during a presentation to the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee for the month of June 2025. Our correspondent obtained a copy of the presentation on Sunday.

Those Downstream oil companies are suffering from the dangote effect. They can't import without dangote crashing prices. They all now buy and sell at the same price with other independent marketers.

Mind you Aradel has an excellent dividend payment ratio.

No dey look that side. What interest me the most in the result is that Ote$ now owns 31% stake in FIrst bank as against 20% of last year.
If you add the 25% that is on the way to him, he would be owning like 56%. When you now add the one that will come by way of private placement, then we start our journey.

But is Transcorp result bad?
Dey even declared 40k interim dividend
Why is it still going down?
Those pple no dey change. They will declare another 60kobo by year end and when you go to AGM they keep praising themselves for moving from kobo to Naira total dividend.
The funny part of Transcorp AGM is that they hand pick those same guys that go round every other company AGM to come and tell us how they are balancing the gender of board memberships.
At the Transcorp AGM, na so so UBA them just dey talk about. They were even singing Wise man bank with UBA...
I just wonder why Ote$ no take over this company. It would have been over 1k by now if Ote$ had succeeded

I asked AI to do an analysis of Access bank highlighting it's prospects and this part of the answer got me laughing out load. (I don't believe it sha but dem done see Access finish, no respect for the stock)

"Analyst Price Targets: Analysts have set a 12-month price target of N29, a 50% potential increase from the June 2024 price of N19.35, and close to the five-year high of N30. This target appears feasible given the stock’s historical growth trajectory (five-year average price of N9.28 to 2024’s N21.29)."

I wonder what they’ll deliver in Q3 this year because they made N3 EPS in Q3 last year. They’re on track for 10-11 EPS
You are correct. Thats confusing. Why would they do such.

Meanwhile lots and lots of money entering WAPCO

Good result. Right on target to meet expectations. 455k against 177k last year
Nascon with over N11 Eps is so far the best and most undervalued compared to NAHCO and WAPCO
