PhonesRe: New Bb 9720 by mrakin(op): 5:20am On Aug 17, 2013
Why is it that many ppu are no more interested in BB? It used to be our choiced phone. In fact, so many people fought and worked very hard to buy a BB. But these days....
Such is life, we need to continue putting up efforts to be relevant in the society and most importantly, we need to maintain a good & constant relationship with God.
seriously we need this in Nigeria
You are wrong. What has their protest achieved so far? New universities? Better roads? More teachers and schools? Better health care services?
Don't deceive yourself, Egypt was better before the protest against Hosni. Can You resurrect those that died in Egyt? That is irredeamable loss. Go and learn from Lbya

CareerRe: Mathematics In Nigeria- The Way Forward by mrakin(m): 5:24am On Aug 01, 2013
Work(job) is not the problem for mathematicians who graduated with good results. Mathematicians are visionary people, they are useful everywhere.
As for me, am proud to be a successful mathematics and Further mathematics teacher. The salary I am receiving is very poor compared to my mates' salaries in other fields, but I am happy with it because that is what I have chosen to become.
Therefore you need to have a vision of the job that will give you joy, more money may not give you joy.

Celyt: @ Op, very interesting topic
may i suggest that the responses should go like this, thus:

title of movie- foreign or Nigeria
e.g. Lion king- foreign(animated movie)

It will help those that would like to purchase the movies. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion.
I am sure some people will benefit from knowing which is foreign, local, animated.

For newlyweds, they should watch:
'MR & MRS' it is a Nigerian movie.

FamilyMovies That Families Can Watch Together by mrakin(op): 10:00pm On Jul 14, 2013
I have once raised this thread in the movies section but am not satisfied with the few comments.
Please suggest nice movies that families can watch together. Remember that such movie should be non-violent and should teach good qualities such as honesty, courage, perseverance, humility and hardwork.

I suggest
THE PURSUIT of HAPPYNESS.
Pls suggest yours.
FamilyRe: Do You Believe In DESTINY? by mrakin(m): 9:35pm On Jul 14, 2013
I don't believe in destiny. God does not use remote control to pilot the way we choose to live our lives. However, God provides guidance if we request for it and HE does it in the best way. God does not destine a particular man for a particular lady. You need to work hard to identify the right person for yourself. God does not do what humans can do by themselves. We can only pray for guidance & direction.

PoliticsRe: Who Can Answer These Questions by mrakin(m): 8:30am On Jul 14, 2013
Good questions, but not all are begging for answers. We are all imperfect, things cannot run 100% smooth at the same time, not even in developed societies. We can learn from your questions anyway. The most important question now is am I doing my best in my dealings with others at my workplace, at school, in the neighbourhood e.t.c.?
PoliticsRe: If You Were President by mrakin(m): 6:28am On Jul 14, 2013
I am happy to see this thread come up once again.
It is true that most people can not manage their own family(ies) successfully and they criticise govt everyday.
As for me, the most important thing I think is missing is the COMPULSORY data bank of all residents in each local govt in Nigeria. Govt need to know
1.the number of houses in each local govt
2. The number of people living in those houses
3. Occupation of occupants and other necessary info.
The data collected should be kept away from unauthorized persons.
The data will help sincere govt to plan towards the welfare and development of the citizens and basic infrastructures.

PoliticsRe: Soyinka To Patience Jonathan - Be A Lady Before Being A "First Lady" by mrakin(m): 6:58am On Jul 13, 2013
Women are vessels of honour and dignity due to their complimentary roles in the family and the duty making sure everything is ok. I respect my mother and wife, they are good examples.
However, politically, nobody voted for any first lady. Even if we now have an unconstitutional office of the first lady, it should be used judiciously for a good course to compliment the office of the president. I commend greatly the ever-humble Mrs Fashola of Lagos state and some other first ladies who never allow their offices to be-cloud their sense of reasoning. Political office holders should remember that they are citizens and that they will come back. Women in power should try to put aside the dominant inherent emotion of pride and the i-am-superior syndrome. I know president Jonathan is humble and he should lecture his wife on leadership 101. The truth is always the truth, Rt hon Amaechi may not be 100% right in his ways, but no one should use unconstitutional means to correct the perceived wrongs. I may not be 100% correct, but that is my opinion.
PoliticsRe: Soyinka Is An Embarrassment To His Admirers – Patience Jonathan by mrakin(m): 5:52am On Jul 13, 2013
I am not happy with some of the comments here. Anyway, those are opinions.
In the first place, nobody voted for the first lady. She therefore has no right to disturb the peace of ordinary citizens for ten days. There are ways she can conduct state visits without heavy fun-fair of security and road closure/barricade. UK's PM often walks from home to office without disturbing the public.
All those talking back at prof are not sincerely speaking the truth about how things should be done. They should look for respectable elders in their families who will not compromise the truth.
PoliticsRe: Soyinka Blasts Nigeria's First Lady Over Rivers Crisis by mrakin(m): 6:13pm On Jul 12, 2013
frankyychiji: All dis old pal knows how to do is sit on d fence and criticise every government in power. This is a gross case of meddlesomeness and elderly rascality. What has soyinka done to better his environment? I challenge him to test his popularity in d next elections. Because it is in a big political that your noble ideas can b brought to bear on the people you are fighting, not by hiding in "goatee barn" and making divisive comments!!!!!
I don't discuss politics but I think you don't have reasonable elderss in your family. Even if my father is not right in his speech, I will never talk back at him. Prof is correct, there is no constitutional right for First ladies to hold any state to ransom. UK's PM is very humble and he will never disturb ordinary citizens with security.
nobody voted for first lady.she has no legitimate office.
