teepain:

I like people like you who speak objectively even when they don't like the people or parties involved. All over the world, there were supply chain disruptions during the COVID-19 saga. In this instance, SIEMENS is right to be talking about an extension since both parties could not have foreseen the pandemic that prevented the contract execution. Constructive criticism is good but we should not be condemning everything without basis.

Covid lasted for just two years. They should come up with a better excuse.

Roads belong to the state and are looked after by the local council. Exceptions are private driveways and private roads ( for example in an estate).

An this is coming up now? To what gain?

I was a kid and know nothing about this, you cannot use what happened during my grandpa’s time to witch-hunt me and prevent me from having a great future!

Nigerian has grown pass that phase!

The same Igbos were murdered during the war and we have lived passed that phase.

What we want is a better and working country for everyone to have a good life. Awolowo didn’t call you from grace to be his spokesman today.

Today it is about handing a struggling country to a struggling man due to age related issues.

No university lecturer ever earning such paltry sum of 120k as salary, they didn't kill anybody's child, if you know nothing about their salaries you keep it shut. Secondary school teachers are earning well over 400k, dont confuse masses with your limited understanding.

You are the Ode here! I am a university lecturer and that is my pay. Assistant lecturer earning 125k after PhD it goes to 150k. That’s me spending about 10years already in the system.

Use contrasting colours that are not too dim. Also Try to balance the colours so that the texts will be visible.

Crime / Re: My Baby Was Not Kidnapped, He Is Innocent: Mother Exonerates Dispatch Rider by mrbionic: 8:59am On Mar 14, 2022
The one question the video didn’t answer:

1. Was the box closed and locked?

2. Was it open and he only used it as a carrier, probably because there was no other space where the child can sit.

Times are bad, but let’s not be too emotional instead of applying logic to events. If they had set the guy ablaze, it means they killed someone you was just helping innocently to transport the child.

If 2 is the answer, then the only problem is the risk of an accident of the kid part. The rider and the mother should be warned by the police, unless if it’s a criminal offence then they should be prosecuted.

Now I know the problem of majority of the people in this forum.

Inability to comprehend simple write up.

He came down from a car, does not translate to him owning the car. Being a lawyer does not translate to him being rich.

You think you love his mum more than him? And if he has the means him won’t do all these unnecessary suggestions?

Always put your thinking cap on when your read articles. What if he is just a lawyer by profession but his not by pocket? Are there no lawyers earning meagre pay?

Please, cut the guy some slack he knows what to do at the right time. Don’t pressure him into following the fast Lane.

The Federal Road Safety are not doing a good job. I see so many people talking about NOT LOOKING BACK when reversing shocked shocked.

The standard practice is to always look around, and not just using your mirrors, but constantly glancing around and also using the mirrors for the manoeuvre in order to cover the BLINDSPOTS. But OP do what works in Nigeria, it seems the opposite is the case and may be that's what the interviewer will be expecting from you.

Please, argue with a prove. I am currently undergoing driving lessons here in the UK, even after driving for years in Naija. There are alot of things we do wrongly.

This is how you know those with wicked and hateful spirit coupled with poor mentality, they will just gather to argue about a successful person person who don’t even know they exist.

It’s shameful how people conclude on issues they know nothing about. Read the news and move on, or say things that are generic. Don’t be too specific when you have not evidence.

Good idea but unfortunately can’t help as it’s Naija. I did studied microbiology in Naija and later studied nursing when I moved to the U.K.

Being a nurse would open better doors for you in terms of migrating to countries like the U.K. US, Canada and Australia. I don’t know why many Nigerians don’t study nursing and other healthcare courses that can easily pave way for them to move abroad.

Hi. Was it MSc Nursing you studied or BSc? Did they allow you to stay back as a result of your nursing degree (and job) or you already had your settlement before going for the nursing?

Please, I will be expecting your feedback. Thanks .
Career / Re: Career Switch? Is It A Good Idea? Advice Me Please by mrbionic: 12:54am On Jul 15, 2021
The trend now is to come to UK for a industrial masters (2 years) and also work as a carer to get experience. After studies you will have 2 years post graduate visa to look for work, while looking for a better job you will save enough money from the care job and apply for masters in nursing(any path except ICU nursing).

Mind you regardless of your background once you have experience in care you are qualified to apply for a two years master in nursing using a the funds you saved as a carer.

After the nursing you will get another 2 years post graduate visa, there are high chances you will secure a job before the 2 years expires, the job comes with 5 yrs visa.

But $50k is a good salary to start with, how much is your “much”?.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: As A Female, What Skills Do I Need To Acquire Before Going Abroad? by mrbionic: 1:33am On Jul 08, 2021
If you are coming over for studies, you only need part time jobs:

1. Health or support worker: You can earn as much as £1500. You will be trained on the job.

2. Cleaner: You will be trained. Same with sorting, picking and packing jobs.

Basically, if you are the coming to Europe you will be trained by your employer for most jobs. A very lucrative side hustle you can learn before coming is HAIRSTYLING. African ladies will hunt for you to help out for a lesser amount compared to standard saloons.

England were the better side, the penalty was confirmed by VAR.

England outplayed Denmark from 15mins onward, this was not the Denmark I know. They were boring, same with Italy vs Spain on this note the “it is coming home”…

What are they publishing 233 articles with only 414 citations, probably self-citations. This is like 2 citations per paper. This is horrible, to say the least, please this is mediocrity.

HigherEd:
SciVal is an online tool that offers quick, easy access to the research performance of 7,000 research institutions and 220 nations worldwide using bibliometrics.

According to the computation by SciVal, featuring the scholarly output of the top 500 authors in Nigeria over the period 2015 to 2020, saw Professor Sanjay emerging tops with 233 scholarly output, 414 citations, and 17 h-index.

It is also remarkable that Gods own University, Covenant, can proudly flaunt her reputation as the best research institution in Nigeria as 5 of the top 10 authors in the list are faculty from the University.

While Professor Misra of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering led the pack of top 500 authors by publication volume since 2015, another prolific author in Covenant, Dr Sunday Ojo Fayomi of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was No.3 in the rankings with 225 scholarly output, 619 citations, and 17 h-index.

Nice one from them, but it is still poor in general. How can one published 233 articles only to be cited 414 times, this is very poor. Whereas, here, just a single article generates about 100 citations. This doesn't add up at all.

Dr Moses Emetere of the Department of Physics was ranked No.4 with 211 scholarly output, 384 citations, and 12 h-index. Other were Dr Hilary Okagbue of the Department of Physics on the 6th spot with 142 citations, 846 citations, and 15 h-index; and Professor Roland Loto, nestled on No.8 with 133 scholarly output, 446 citations, and 16 h-index.

Other covenant authors able to make the top 20 included the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero of the Department of electrical and information engineering, who emerged 11th with 111 scholarly output, 427 citations, and 12 h-index. There were also Professor Cleophas Loto and Professor Oluseyi Ajayi, both of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr Afolabi Adedeji of the Department of Building Technology, all occupying the 12th, 13th, and 16th positions respectively.

Professor Wiwanitkit Viroj, an Adjunct Professor at Joesph Ayo Babalola University, who was the erstwhile No.1 author, dropped to the 2nd position courtesy of his 226 scholarly output, 214 citations, and 24 h-index.

The latest development was yet another milestone for Covenant, whose remarkable upward surge in the different categories of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings had elicited rave reviews.

To God alone be all the glory!

Education / Re: Nigerians Pay N152b Tuition In UK by mrbionic: 10:09pm On Jun 29, 2020
Please, we should stop lamenting. Nigerians do not spend half of what the Chinese spend, they know the worth, they are the major population of the UK students I can bet they are even more than the Britons.

Moreover, most students are on scholarships and those on self-funding do work to cover the better part of their spending, it's a win-win situation.

The exposure, the knowledge and the standard(even if you don't get to stay back, you have an edge in other European countries) is something worth spending money on if you have it. After all, we make money to afford the best in life. Money is meant to be spent.

I am enjoying all these currently!!!

....but let truth be told, that girl was confused and don't know whether to plead or to leave. She was pleading but wasn't too serious about it, I am sure she was reasoning whether the guy is actually a yahoo boy or not when the officer was trying to arrest him and she don't actually know whether to defend the guy or to just keep her cool and watch things as it play out......

You are wrong about the leaving aspect.

She was just thinking of what to do in split seconds, she wanted to seek for help around but nobody showed interest, then she had to reach for her phone.

In general she was confused indicating that it wasn't a staged clip. She wasn't expecting it.

She was totally genuine with her reactions. Everything played out well, I was seen the video for the 10th time now. Is just too real and overwhelming.

He is wrong by all standards. I have seen where something exactly like this played out, a Redeem church in UK.

The pastor was aware of the guy's intention to propose, and had to give him few minutes during the service to do so.

He was wrong not to have informed the pastor personally about his intention, the church is where decorum should be mantained, and not wnere members act irrationally.
