The author of ‘Practical Steps to Financial Freedom and Independence’, Mr. Usiere Uko, writes about how people can manage their time to achieve desired goals. Whether you are aware of it or not, you are in business. Whether you are an employee, self employed, businessman, unemployed or whatever, you have a job to improve yourself to be well positioned to achieve your goals and dreams. Minding other’s business The challenge is, we are so used to minding other people’s business that it has never occurred to us that we have a business – working on ourselves and getting better at what we do or want to do. We spend our time (our life) focusing on others - celebrities, football clubs, our jobs etc. without taking time to think about ourselves, what we really want out of life, how to go about it, develop a plan and start working on it. We focus on working for others for a salary without focusing on our desired career path, passion, skills, dreams, goals and purpose. We are ready to die for our football clubs and spare no expense to be a good fan but hardly consider being an ardent fan of our goals and dreams. http://infolodge.net/blog/blog/2013/07/31/article-mind-your-own-business/ |

Nigerian music has increased considerably over the past few years but still we have so many features lacking. We have over talented and fast rising upcoming acts. The question is what Structure is in place for musicians? What brought about this question was when Tuface in a recent interview describes the royalty he has received and will keep receiving from African Queen just because the song was use in Monique Parker starred movie - Phat girls. In Nigeria, anybody can use anybody's song on a movie, they even go to the extent of Naming movies after hit songs. This brought about the case of Paul Play and MTN, he sued MTN for listing his song as caller tunes and bla bla bla, the rest is history. The only time you hear about PMAN is when they are fighting over something or the other. So why are the A list artistes not members of PMAN, are they not performing acts? If producers were being recognised, paid their producing fee and also paid their royalty on songs, would OjB be enlisting public help before he can pay his hospital bills. We could go on and on, the list is endless. Upcoming acts yapa die, asin they are too plentiful. What structure is in place for an artiste to succeed in Nigeria? Very soon, everybody would be singing and no one listening? Your opinions are welcomed. |
Mynd_44: He would have become the backbone of what? And how will he do that with Kanye around?Kanye is signed to good music and not Roc Nation. |
