Uchenduin:
Why am tired of all these religion things is that the churches and mosque, pastors and imams are growing in numbers everyday yet atrocities are exponentially increasing.
Difficulties and hardship are endless.
If you ask them they will say that is because of our sins.
One religion extremist told me so some days back and I asked her is our sins here in Nigeria more than the one committed in the US, UK, Germany, even China and other Asians continent that are not even Christians and she couldn't talk again.

Is not time to know that religion is one of our problem in this society and our solution is no there.

Disclaimer: this write up does not in anyway doubt/ question the existence/supremacy of the almighty God.

Many football players love luxury cars, while other stars shun flash cars like Ferraris or Lamborghinis for something more practical even though they earn mega money.
Pep Guardiola

Despite owning a ridiculously gorgeous Bentley, the Man City boss showed he has a modest side - driving into training in a £28k electric Nissan Leaf.

But he's not the only man involved in the beautiful game who's shunning Ferraris, Lamborghinis or Range Rovers for more practical cars.

These Premier League stars are using motors to go to training or to travel to games that cost just a fraction of their wages.

CrimeThe Criminalization Of Nigerians In Ghana! by MrCEO69(op): 1:04pm On Jun 18, 2019
The rate at which the news media outlet in Ghana have been criminalizing Nigerian's have now come to a high. They claim every thing bad happening in the country is now done by Nigerians, such kidnapping and robbery. Most of which have be debunked, and ones found true there are more Ghanaian accomplice but the media focus more on the few Nigerians involve. Now every Nigerian in Ghana is a thief or a kidnapper

Take a look at this;

The two Canadian nationals who were abducted last week have been rescued.

A team of top national security operatives rescued the duo from the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle at a hideout at slums in Kumasi.

The four kidnappers who are all Nigerian nationals have also been arrested after the standoff between them and the rescuing force.

They are believed to have had support from Ghanaians before perpetrating the crime.

Special Operations team from National Security took over operations to rescue the girls on the evening of Monday, June 10.

The two girls who are in their early adulthood have been in Ghana offering voluntary international service but luck eluded them and they were kidnapped last week.

However, the Ghana Tourism Authority on June 11, 2019 moved in to close down the hostel where the two girls stay in Kumasi claiming it has not been licensed and also has no security arrangement hence, could not be allowed continue its operation.
https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Two-kidnapped-Canadian-girls-rescued-Nigerian-kidnappers-nabbed-754292
But this give a lot and more clearer report;

Eight suspects have so far been arrested for the kidnapping of the two Canadian ladies, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has officially announced.

The women, who went missing a few days ago, were found in the early hours of Wednesday June 12, 2018 at Kanyasi in Kumasi.

Recounting how the operation went, the Minister stated that intelligence gathering efforts led the team to the hiding place of the suspects.

However, there were a series of gunshot exchanges between the suspects and the security team.

One suspect sustained minor injuries as a result of the shootout.

In all, the rescuing exercise took 25 minutes.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah maintained that “no foreign assets were involved in the operation” despite rumours that government and the police received satellite information from the Canadian government.

He disclosed that the victims are currently in Accra and undergoing.
People are now speaking out;

The Economic Fighters League (Fighters), has condemned what they described as the branding of Nigerians and other African nationals in Ghana as criminals.

“We have observed with dismay the continuous criminalisation of our fellow Africans from Nigeria and other countries,” Fighter-General Hardi Yakubu said in a statement on Monday, 17 June 2019.

Mr Yakubu noted that: “If some [Nigerians] are found breaking the law, they must be dealt with through the due process of the law, rather than used as the yardstick for judging everyone from Nigeria”.

Nigerian nationals have been linked to five major kidnapping cases in the country since August last year.

Mr Samuel-Udoetuk Willis, a Nigerian who is currently in police custody, is the main suspect in the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi in the Western Region. A second Nigerian suspect, John Oji sis also on trial for the same crime.

Three Nigerians and five Ghanaians were also involved in the kidnapping of two Canadians who were rescued last week in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Three Nigerians are also on the run in connection with the kidnapping of a Lebanese diplomat Nabil Makram Basbous, the Consular General and Head of Mission of Estonia to Ghana at Labone in April this year.

Some Nigerians were also arrested at Kasoa in the central region in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a two-year-old Ghanaian boy in that area also in April.

Additionally, some Nigerian nationals are suspected to be behind the kidnapping of an Indian businessman in Kumasi in April this year.

Just on Sunday, 16 June 2019, another Nigerian suspect was arrested at Mamobi in Accra for trying to kidnap a four-year-old Ghanaian boy.

Some Ghanaians on various social media platforms have expressed anger at the current trend of kidnappings involving Nigerian suspects.

But the Fighters insist that “the penchant to label crime this way is the root of the heinous Afrophobic attacks that have claimed the lives of many Africans in South Africa”.

Below is the full statement

STOP CRIMINALISING NIGERIANS AND OTHER AFRICAN NATIONALS

We have observed with dismay the continuous criminalisation of our fellow Africans from Nigeria and other countries. This has come about as a result of some Nigerian nationals suspected to be involved in criminal activities. But this does not in any way make all Nigerians criminals. If some are found breaking the law, they must be dealt with through the due process of the law, rather than used as the yardstick for judging everyone from Nigeria.

The penchant to label crime this way is the root of the heinous Afrophobic attacks that have claimed the lives of many Africans in South Africa. In our press release of 21st April 2019, we had cause to condemn these attacks and call for measures against South Africa if nothing was done to curb them. In the same light, we condemn attempts by the police and media to reduce the crimes of robbery, kidnapping and others to the presence of Nigerians in Ghana.

It is important to reiterate our position that no African should be seen as a foreigner in Ghana or anywhere in Africa for that matter. For we are all first Africans before being Ghanaians or Nigerians. It is the preservation of colonially-imposed borders without regard to our larger Africanness that has caused the division and rancour in our midst. We must emancipate ourselves from this and unite our forces for prosperity.

This nation was founded on the ideals of the African personality and Pan-African solidarity. We must not betray this foundation.

Revolutionary regards Hardi Yakubu Fighter-General 17th June, 2019
The Nigerian High Commission in Ghana is upset with the nature of reportage of crimes involving Nigerians which it says exhibits some form of xenophobia.

The High Commission in a statement said “xenophobic tendencies” had the potential to mar Ghana-Nigeria relations.

In the statement, Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Micheal Olufemi Abikoye, references reports involving Nigerians and criminal activity; including the recent kidnapping of two Canadians in Kumasi.
The involvement of Nigerians in high profile crimes in recent times is viewed as causing some resentment for Nigerians in Ghana.

“The Ghanaian Press, both print and electronic as well as social media seems to have enjoyed a field day in demonising Nigeria which for all intent and purposes, is seen as a fraternal brother to Ghana,” the statement notes.

The High Commission maintains that this line of reportage “has caused untold pains, agony as well as apprehension” to Nigerians in Ghana.

This has compelled it to “appeal to local traditional media and social media to be highly circumspect in such reportage.”

“The ongoing media trial of criminals which was now being turned into a media trial of Nigeria as a country, calls for moderation on the part of media practitioners in Ghana.”

An Association of Nigerians in Ghana also criticized the consistent singling out of Nigerians in criminal activities.

The association said the behaviour of the few Nigerians did not call for stereotyping of all Nigerian nationals.

Ogbonna Keyse, spokesperson for Nigerians in Diaspora said on Eyewitness News: “We are sad and worried because we know that the majority of us are not like that. Nigerians are not criminals. Nigerians are not kidnappers. Nigerians are not murderers. Nigerians are good people, hardworking people.”
Maybe it is time to leave!.

A Nigerian man has been arrested after he attempted kidnapping a four-year-old boy at Maamobi in the Greater Accra Region. Eyewitnesses who suspected the man was attempting to lure the bot into a waiting vehicle raised alarm. The waiting car, according to reports, had three other people in it already.

The suspect is said to have dashed into a nearby house and changed his clothing but his cover was blown after residents of the house gave him up. The other three occupants in the car sped off. He was assaulted by the mob that arrested him and subsequently handed over to the Kotobabi police station.

Due to the head injuries he sustained, he has been sent to the hospital for treatment. The boy is reportedly safe.
