Emax911: Good morning nairalanders, typing at 5:46am, not because I do wake up early but because I got stung by a young scorpion. In the space of four days, we have killed 3 young scorpions in our room with one slightly bigger, pls help!!!! how do I get rid of them because am sure there will be more
NOTE: we just rented the house and it's tiles but the environment is quite situated in a bushy (lonely) area.
Cats
Cats are experts at catching and killing scorpions, but you do have to be careful since cats could get stung or injured. If you happen to keep chickens, they can also keep the population down.
eddy2farm: See how Fulani herdsmen destroy my pineapple i planted. I try to fence it round with banboo using nail to hold it together, yet they destroy the fence and destroy my plant. Infact they have turn the farm to their Major road. Million of naira was spend on planting the crops. Police could not do anything. Government will never see this, but quick to arrest u if you confront them If u check the picture below u will see their road track in my farm .
kai see as they nearly turn this your farm to football field.
take heart
i think there should be insurance package for the herdsman.
herdsmen insurance just like fire insurance
Nigeria insurance company self you guys will not see this new insurance package to sell to farmers
gadegunle: Happy Sunday everyone, I know the economy has really hit the poultry industry due to the lockdown many farmers could not produce maize and hence the little we have available many middle men have hoard it and this triggered high cost of poultry feeds.
Many poultry farmers sold their birds and incured terrible loses ,many are still at the verge of selling off everything and many don't even know what to do.
One thing is sure we must not give up we must be innovative and resilient.
Some solutions. 1. You can try organic poultry farming ( I don't know much about this but I have come across many threads on nairaland) 2. You can also make your feeds yourself to reduce the costs of production too
3. You can plant maize if you have space
Every business comes with trying times but no condition is permanent.
*I also want to ask does any one have an idea other options to getting battery cage for layers?
Thanks
what exactly do you mean *I also want to ask does any one have an idea other options to getting battery cage for layers?
gadegunle: Good afternoon sir, Happy Sunday. Thanks for your intellectual contributions I googled the shika brown chicken too and read so much about them. I must say agriculture will continue to evolve as knowledge is increasing.
one of the best layer develop in zaira (Kaduna) The Shika Brown chicken breed is the preferred layer strain in Nigeria. Its characteristics include excellent shell quality, high production rate, persistency, egg weight, liveability, and feed conversion.
gadegunle: We continued with the construction and fenced 3 plots where we have the poultry pen, farm house and space for cat fish.
Then we decided to do do bore hole for water, this took us alot of time and we did it twice before getting water to run the farm.
After the bore hole was working we covered the pen with thick nylon all around. We got feeders, and every accessory needed for the poultry.Rememver I said we did egg production before but this time around we also got broilers as there is a chicken processing plant beside us very big thr manager kept on disturbing us to breed broilers so they can buy from us to process.
We were abit skeptical at first but later succumbed and it almost landed us in debts.
That's a story for another day
(I have tried to upload the pictures but its giving me error.)

JoeEeL: It was the year 2017 where my hard drive crashed and as a consequence, lost all my computer data.
After buying a new hard drive, I re-downloaded most songs (and other data) but there's a particular song which I loved so much. I believe I had just come in contact with that song -- very likely a friend sent it to me via Bluetooth, Xender etc. It had come with a batch of songs I had gotten from friends shortly before my computer packed.
Hence I couldn't remember the title, nor the author(s) of the song but the lyrics are sketchy in my mind till this day. I thought it would be as easy as pie Googling the few lyrics I could remember and finding the song on the internet but to my utter amazement, I have not been able to after 3 solid years.
The song is quite melodious to me but my guess is it's likely not so popular for it to be so elusive to find. It was likely sang by a (young American) guy. If I'm to liken his sound to any other singer, I'd say he sounds somewhat like Tha Dream (just to give you an idea)
So the scanty lyrics I can remember are :
"You wanna roll with me tonight ... (yeahhhh) "
(2 more lines here I can't remember)
Come follow me, come follow me girl.... Its you, its you, its you, I want it..."
Pls any Nairalander music lover for some help pls. This song means so much to me, you may not understand. Any who helps me find it, I owe you a New Year's token (5,000 naira airtime). No joke.
Mynd44, Seun, Lalasticlala, Dominique ... Please if you can move to front page.
Kingosytex: If they spoke Fulfude then there is 99.99% chance that they were Fulani Herdsmen...Don't ask me how I arrived at this conclusion.
A very very very great percentage of people who speak Fulfude are Fulanis, an average Hausa person doesn't even understand that language.
I appreciate God for your lives...Many went but couldn't return.
I give God the glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did you not see this part................
They claimed that the government abandoned them. I don’t understand what they meant by saying that the government abandoned them. They said they didn’t go to school; no cows and they don’t have means of survival.
