Nairaland has apparently gone to the dogs . How is this post still on the politics segment https://www.nairaland.com/992977/condom-manufacturer-durex-ranks-ibo#11471962 . I made a post similar yesterday https://www.nairaland.com/992868/great-nation-finally-nigeria-ranked but it was immediately moved to the romance segment BUT this thread https://www.nairaland.com/992977/condom-manufacturer-durex-ranks-ibo#11471962 which has tribal bigotry and falsification of the research carried out by durex has stayed put on the politics segment . I wouldn't be surprised if the Moderators are behind some of the monikers used for tribal bashing and bigotry .

Uneasy calm reigned at Olorunsogo area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital at the weekend, as a family alleged that a soldier raped their 16 year-old boy (names withheld). The incident happened at the premises of the burnt Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in the area.

Soldiers were deployed in the Olorunsogo District office of PHCN after it was burnt down by rampaging youths during the fuel subsidy protest in January due to epileptic power supply to the area. Father of the victim, Mr. Adejare Taiwo (not real names) told Daily Sun at the weekend that his son, a SSS1 student at one of the popular secondary schools in the city, was allegedly raped on Thursday around 8p.m by one of the soldiers posted to secure the PHCN office.

According to Taiwo, his wife was a petty trader at Olorunsogo bus-stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and like most traders in the area; she used to keep her wares within the premises of the PHCN office. He explained that on the fateful day, his son was sent to pack her mother’s wares after she had retired home to prepare food for the family.

But one of the soldiers was said to have lured him into the canteen within the premises, which has been converted to a room by the soldier and had sex with him through the anus. “On getting home that night, I met them picking beans to be cooked for the night. I inquired who would help her pack her wares and she said she had instructed one of the traders to help her. “I was not comfortable with the arrangement, so I asked my son to go and pack the wares and furniture being used by his mother.

For many hours after he didn’t return home. I was wondering what could have happened to my son. When we waited till about 10p.m and he did not return, his mum went to search for him. She met him on the way and related what happened to him. “I was even waiting at home, fuming with anger and threatening to beat the hell out of my son when they came in and my wife said we should go inside so that he could relate what happened to him,” the 37-year-old man said.

Relating his nasty experience in the hands of the randy soldier, the hapless young boy said the soldier had approached him while packing his mother’s ware and asked whether he had a sister or any girl around he could call for him (soldier). “I told him I didn’t know any girl in the neighbourhood and I didn’t have a sister. He then grabbed me at the wrist and asked me to follow him. He dragged me into a room inside the canteen. He locked the door at the back and threatened to kill me if I shout. He ordered me to off my trouser and I started begging him but he would not listen as he forced my trouser down and removed my pant.

“He later grabbed my organ and shoved me forward, making me to fall. After I had fallen down, he took out his lipsrsealed lipsrsealed and put it in my lipsrsealed lipsrsealed and started making lipsrsealed lipsrsealed with me. I was begging him to release me but he would not listen.
“But about five minutes later, the other soldiers called him and he rose up, buttoned up and went out leaving me in the room. I realized he locked the door from outside.

“I seized the opportunity to put on my trouser and used the nail behind the door to also lock the door from the back. I then escaped through the window. As I was running away, the other soldiers saw and shouted at me but I heard him telling them to let me go,” the distraught boy stated. He said although he did not know the soldier’s name but he could identify him. “He is their commandant in that place and he was the only one using the premises of Ile Gate Food Canteen within the premises while others are sleeping in the next building. When they called him out, I heard others calling him ‘Oga, Oga (leader).” His father said he reported the incident to his own father the following morning and they both called their lawyer, Mr. Adebayo Shittu, who is the former attorney-general and commissioner for justice in the state, who urged them to lodge a complaint at the police station. “We went to Ogbere Onilanta Police Station on Friday to report the incident but the two policemen that attended to us said they could not handle the matter as it involved the Army. They asked us to go to the headquarters of the 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ojo to lodge our complaint with the Military Police.

“But we didn’t know anybody that can assist us and we don’t know what will be the reaction of the soldiers there. We are poor people. We want good-spirited Nigerians to come to our aid so that we won’t suffer in silence,” said the grandfather of the hapless boy, who pleaded not to be mentioned. When Daily Sun contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Command, Mrs. Bisi Clet Ilobanafor, she said the family had been advised to go back to the station and re-lodge their complaint, saying it was not true that the police could not handle the incident.

Crayola1: I always find your posts laced with passive aggressivenes and a heaping of undeserved feelings of superiority amusing.

Do tell us after 40+ years of the North having complete control of the country why does North remain largely unchanged from the time the country received its independence? Why do have a generation of people who today live lives no different from their ancestors at the turn of the 19th century?

I ask because the people you so magnimously reintergrated into this country who litterally started from zero managed to do ok for themselves yet the folks who had it all seem to be up the creek without a paddle. The South East zone has its own problems like every region in Nigeria, but what is so special about the North that they have to cling to wahabbism from Saudi Arabia while? Avoid education? Have some of thee highest mortality rates in the World? Increasing poverty? The scourge of polio that has been largely eradicated everywhere else?

Tells us Nagoma how does one region hold power for so long and be worser off for it? As criminal as the Igbo people are (according to you) I can't imagine they would waste such an opportunity cheesy

Honestly the Presidency of Nigeria is the booby prize, as much as you think you sound so clever saying "we don't trust Igbo, har har, they will never have a president" you would be actually the biggest favor to the SE. Maybe not getting the president will make people of the SE focus more on their governors and LGA leaders who in the grand scheme of things matter more than GEJ ever will. So I humbly ask that you continue to nurse that hatred of yours, it would be the first positive contribution you would have made in your life.
Classic !!! this deserves a Pulitzer prize

patriot2: on the other hand with the igbos they can feel safe to continue their killings. Nobody will care !!! So let them go to the south-east !!!
Okay before i leave :
1. Yorubas and Hausas share more similarities between themselves than any other tribe in Nigeria.
2. Edo comprises of different tribes (Ishan , Bini etc) so saying "EDOS are yorubas" just makes you sound like an ape with downs syndrome.
3. The best place for the STF to resettle the Fulanis is the SOUTHWEST . I have giving my reasons over and over again but i guess you are so ignorant or just plain st.upid to understand .

Because right now they are fighting in their HOMELAND with the berom people and its all because of the cultural and religious difference between them and the minority northerners( berom / tiv/idoma folks) . But with the Yorubas the hausas can feel at home as they both understand each other .
LMAO, you no serious. But to be honest they are already there. When they start killing in the south west it will be very bad and casualties will be high because they are everywhere there.I remember when travelling to or from the north back in the day. If you get to places like Eyenkorun, Ogbomoso, Iwo etc. The fulani population in those places is very high. They come out of the jungle in very high numbers when ever they have a celebration.
I am serious about that . The Hausa-Fulani would find it hard adapting to other regions but from what i understand in recent times they have built a strong accord and mutual respect for the Yorubas and if the STF decides to go ahead with this evacuation plan then the south west would be the most choice of relocation for the Hausas . There seems to be a cultural connection between Yorubas and Hausas and this would greatly help Nigeria as a nation . The South east and South south region has nothing in common with the Hausas so they would find it hard adapting to those regions.
Politics › Re: The Fulani Will Not Leave - Beginning Of The End? by Mrchippychappy(m): 2:08pm On Jul 16, 2012
patriot2: but ... you have none. All you have is hate. You want the worse criminals on earth to be relocated to the south-west because you hate Yoruba. All you want is death to Yoruba people. It will not work. You will die by your own wishes, and there is an other reason why I would prefer boko haram relocate in the south-east: after the civil war genocide by them of three million of you, there was no punishment. So their killing habits in your land would go unnoticed and unpunished.
Hate ? who hates the yorubas ? OPEN YOUR EYES and look around the south west particularly kwara , yewa in ogun state and ibadan EVEN in oshogbo . The Hausas have been in YORUBALAND for YEARS , They like it there. Both tribes (Hausa and Yoruba) Inter marry , share the same cultural and religious views , look alike etc . The point i am trying to make is this : The best place for the STF to relocate the fulanis to is the SOUTH WEST . This is one nation and we MUST BE OUR BROTHERS KEEPER. Stop being a tribal bigot , I have no problem with the Fulanis neither do i have any problem with Yorubas .

hotwax: I have been in Benin city so many times. Benin always recognizes themselves as Yoruba. Buh, you come here and say pooo. Who are you to choose for them?
They know where dey wanna belong. They know their history, they know where they are coming from. EDO is part of South-west period. It has been like that. So there is nothing you (only one man and non-Edo, outsider) can do about it.

IF THIS WOULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION THEN IT WOULD BE WISE TO RELOCATE THE HAUSAS TO THE SOUTHWEST FOR THE TIME BEING . THE YORUBAS AND HAUSAS SHARE RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL SIMILARITES MORE THAN ANY OTHER TRIBE IN NIGERIA . SO THIS WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION FOR THE TIME BEING.

Politics › Re: The Fulani Will Not Leave - Beginning Of The End? by Mrchippychappy(m): 1:30pm On Jul 16, 2012
hotwax: My big question is: Why are Edos counting themselves as South-West. And majority of them always claimed to be Yorubas?
May be you do not know the difference between Igbo and Edo. Only Igbo will detest yorubas. Edo people are always Yoruba family. You can go and conduct a survey and see where they will align to.
This issue has been addressed OVER AND OVER again on this forum . Edo people are NOT YORUBAS . The geographical location of a tribe or people doesn't determine their identity . Take the OLD EASTERN REGION for example back in the 60's would you say the efiks , ijaws etc were igbos because they were part of the OLD EASTERN REGION ? No. I don't need a research to tell me that what i ALREADY know , i have friends , LOTS OF FRIENDS from edo state and they don't believe this "annexation of yorubaland" theory that yorubas are desperately pushing for . Edo indigenes are the ONLY ones who have the right to determine their identity and please LETS NOT DERAIL THIS TOPIC. back to the topic.
TroGunn:

Chief, relax. Was just having fun, but apparently you are taking it too seriously. The Fulanis can always head up North. Or remove the bad eggs among them and stop being a nuisance to everyone, then people won't mind them so much. . That nobody really wants them means something's wrong.
I don't know about you but i wasn't "having fun" or trying to rile anyone up when i suggested that the SOUTHWEST is the best location for the STF to resettle the evacuated Hausas. There's a lot of Cultural , Religious and even Political similarities . The yorubas and the hausas have the highest rate of inter-tribal marriages in Nigeria and they have built a cordial relationship so its only right that the Fulanis are resettled in the south west for the time being .
Politics › Re: The Fulani Will Not Leave - Beginning Of The End? by Mrchippychappy(m): 12:59pm On Jul 16, 2012
patriot2: There are no cultural similarities. Yorubas are not a civilisation of murderers. We do not believe in claiming other people's lands and we do not believe in genocide. So there goes your similarity. We believe in science and in love for human life. But if pushed to the wall we will unleash hell. (N.B: I am Edo although I am aware of the fact that Edos and Yorubas are one same people.)
And since when did all Hausas become murderers ? Like Trogunn said Yorubas and Hausas are binded by the cultural and religious similarities between them . The South east and South south religious and cultural inclination is totally different from that of the Hausa-fulani man . The STF's resolution to evacuate the Hausas is not a good one but if they decide to go ahead with it then the Southwest would be the most preferred option for the Hausas.
P:s: This is just by the way I have lots of edo friends and they detest yorubas or people who try to bundle them along with the yorubas . They believe they are Bini or Esan . I think the people of Edo state should be allowed to identify themselves BY THEMSELVES . Any move to make them an "ANNEX" of another tribe would create identity crisis and is totally unacceptable .

We see ourselves as closer to the south-west than to the south-east!
And more than three quarters of the Yorubas are christians!
So shut your mouth !
It has nothing to do with religion rather its about cultural similarities
Politics › Re: The Fulani Will Not Leave - Beginning Of The End? by Mrchippychappy(m): 12:28pm On Jul 16, 2012
patriot2: Are you kidding me, in the southwest and south-south we can accommodate haussas and fulanis just as long as they are not too much. Why should we accommodate all of them while the south-east sits on its fat ass ?
There is no more cultural understanding between us and the haussas than there is between igbos and the haussas. Instead of saying rubbish why don't you suggest they go north ? Why do you want a tribe of murderers and blood suckers to come southwest ? Why wouldn't you prefer they went back home ?
The southeast and southsouth has nothing in common with the fulanis but the yorubas share a lot in common with the fulanis . so the southwest would be the perfect settlement for the Fulanis
