Lemme understand well, is the argument about Chile vs EU? I mean, are we comparing one country to the whole of EU. Maybe that is one mistake we are making. We should perhaps compare Chile with one particular EU country instead.

If you have an EU passport, you can work as an independent contractor and earn like 150k Euros. For those that do not posses a passport, they manage the 50k Euros annual job like that. Immigrants have no choice than to take what they are given.

Tax is also high, Germany has the highest tax system that I know on paper. Funny as it sounds. UK has a lower tax system and higher pay than all of EU except Switzerland. If you have a UK passport and work as a contractor, you can easily become a millionaire in 3 years.

10 years visit visa granted to me, my kids and my cousin (she has been living with me for 9yrs)
I am a single mother btw.
Current visa is 2 years and will expire end of July 2023 but traveling for summer so had to apply early.

12th May : online application
15th May : Biometrics (paid for prime time and keep my passport option)
22nd May: call from UKVI to submit our passports at TLS. Submitted same day as my office is close and I’ve had the passports in my car since 15th.
23rd May: TLS email for passport collection. Quickly rushed there and picked them up.
10yrs visa granted for all of us.

I work for the government and salary is less than 150k after tax.
Submitted 6 months salary account statement with balance of less than 800k
Dollar account of about 6000usd but transaction of over 40k usd in 3 months.
Employment letter and staff ID card
Accommodation booking
That’s all for myself.

For my 3 kids
Birth certificates
Consent Letter from their father
2023/24 school fees receipt (I pay per annum not termly)
Result sheet from school showing their grades
Accommodation booking
Submitted same account statements for 3 of them.

For my 19yr old cousin
Added our family picture from 9yrs ago when she started living with me
Added our pictures from numerous family vacations in other countries.
Admission letter showing she resumes university in September this year.

I have had 5 UK visas including one student visa
My kids had 2 Uk visas aside my last baby who had 1
Previous US visas and numerous trips in the last 5yrs

I visit minimum of 2 countries yearly mostly for fun and I hardly go anywhere without my kids

It's not the only country. It can be done in the UK, and many students have transitioned to British citizens in 5 years.

I support the view of the OP based on the current immigration climate in the UK. I would join the OP to urge prospective international students to consider migrating to countries with flexible immigration policies. The UK has got one of the best tertiary education systems in the world, but the downside of the UK is that it has a draconian immigration structure, even more so with the 'Brexit' decision. If the intention of the international student is to get a good education and go back to his/her country, then by all means, come to the UK; but if the intention is to stay behind after studies, it's increasingly difficult (not impossible) to do that in the UK.

There are only 3 main routes of staying behind for an international student in the UK; these are the Tier 1/2 visa route, the marriage route, or the British Army route. These routes are not easy to get, and the system has got safeguards (pitfalls) that you must go through to get to the end point i.e. British passport.

Please I will like to know the side huzzle you add to make you spend above all Nysc has in stock for you because with your analysis 19800*12=237600. State Allowance of 5k =60k for 12 months which know state pays more than 10 or 11 months, so 237600+60000=297,600. From what you have now 70,000 laptop plus 40,000 you send to your friend =110,000 plus the 180,000 you have it will be 290,000, mind you I know you haven't been paid the last 41,100 and I have already included it in my calculations. So tell me don't you eat, buy things throughout your service year?

You earn 60k to 80k and you were able to save 400k in less than a year. What's the secret bro? Don't leave your parents house just yet. Save up to 1m and buy a low cost land since you are not good in doing business. When it appreciates a little, sell and buy two more .Stay there sef till you wan marry. Lol. No one will give your friend visa, not to talk of schengen visa when there is no evidence of him leaving his country on his passport aka Russian visa. He first has to seek asylum and get some kind of documentation before entering another country. Except he ran through the borders undetected. Your friend is lying to you and is probably on his way to Lagos. It’s such lies that keep fueling this stupidity. Don’t believe everything people tell you, think.

bro, let me be the bearer of bad news..... anybody who pays to get a visa is being scammed, and if your mate didnt even have $200 in his pocket while here in Europe then let us all hope it will not end up in misery like the brother who was scammed going to Azerbaidjan or Kazakhstan then telling people he was fine in Europe then commited suicide (after we find out he had already return in Abuja).
