April 2012 was a month mixed blessings for top actress Rita Dominic Nwatumocha.
The actress who won Best Actress on a leading role at the 2012 AMAA awards held on Sunday April 2012 in Lagos,unknown to many,had earlier in the month,lost a close relative,Mr. Gerald Ihenmebirim Nwaturuocha popularly called Mr. Whyte.
The late Mr. Whyte,and the actress,were very close.
Mr. Whyte a former footballer with Iwuuanyanwu Nationale died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) after a brief illness on Monday,April,9,2012 aged 55years.
A Christian wake keep was held at his residence,No 17 Ajana Street off Ogunlana Ijesha Road,Surulere Lagos on Wednesday April 25th.
Mr. Whyte,was laid to rest at Nwatumocha royal family,Umuanuma Nguru,Aboh Mbaise,Imo State on Monday 30th April 2012 after a funeral mass at St.Charles Catholic Church Umuanama Ngumu.

[/b]Henry Nnadi, the 38- year-old dry cleaner that killed his 1-year-old son, Ebuka, and burnt his wife, Mercy,36, with hot iron for allegedly sleeping with his 65-year-old father, has finally spoken on the circumstances that led to his beastly act from the confines of his prison cell at Kirikiri, Lagos.
Looking remorseless over the pains he inflicted on his wife of two years, the fair-skinned Henry only showed regrets when the issue of his dead son came up. “That was the worst thing I have ever done in my entire life. When he woke up crying for milk, I looked at him in anger and a voice came saying kill him, he is not your son. In obedience to that voice, I hit him hard on the neck several times.”
Insisting that he was unsure of the paternity of the boy, Henry gave vivid details of what transpired on the fateful Saturday, April 7, 2012. Excerpts:
“I am sure of what I am talking about. My wife, Mercy has been sleeping with my father. Before the incident, I have cautioned her to stop going to my father’s house because I suspected their moves . But she wouldn’t listen. Then one day, when she was about going out, I told her not to leave the house but she disobeyed me and went out. I waited for a while before going straight to my father’s place which is not far from where I live .
And to confirm my claim, immediately I arrived there, I knocked and my father opened the door with a towel round his waist. As I made to go in, he prevented me by blocking the entrance with his hand. I do not know how my wife managed to escape . But after waiting for a while, I left and immediately I got home, my wife had reached the house, I laughed and went to smoke to cool my temper. I was keeping all that in mind until that Saturday night.
“As I was ironing my customer’s clothes, I looked at my wife where she was sleeping on the bed and anger surged inside of me. I then heard a voice instructing me to go and ask her why she was sleeping with my father. By then, the iron was very hot and I thought I could use that to scare her.”

I woke her up and asked her to tell me the truth on how many times she had slept with my father. But she refused to talk. Then the voice came to me again to place the hot iron on her and I did. As I was placing it, she told me she had slept with my father three times.
Immediately she mentioned it, I lost my cool and placed it harder on her out of anger. At that point, the child cried, wanting to suck breast. I looked at him wondering if I was actually his father. I thought to myself that it could be possible my father was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in his birth.
How I killed my son
At this point the suspect kept quiet, bowed his head, shaking it intermittently in self pity. And when he raised his head, his eyes were filled with tears. Thereafter, he rested his chin on his palm and looked at the sky, muttering. After a long pause, this reporter asked him if he actually killed his son.

The Delta state government under the leadership of Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan and his team of so called transformers has turned Delta state into their personal properties making life unbearable for the common man and the average youth.
Out of frustration occasioned by the selfish leadership style and governance of the State Governor and his team, graduates of Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education of Delta state origin are now subjecting their persons to different illegal businesses as an option for survival. The hope is going hopeless day after day as the Government shows no concern, but rather takes delight in making the poor become poorer.
Today, vacancies are no more advertised. The essence of due process and transparency in Government has been abandoned as vacancies are now concealed by the government and its officials.
The government says there are no vacancies and that the civil service is over populated but every day of the week, including weekends, appointment letters are issued.
Appointments are shared as slots to top government officials, who in turn give them to relatives or sell them to unemployed indigenes.
I have friends that have graduated for 7years, done postgraduate degrees with good grades and high sense of intellectual reasoning that can transform any sector of the public service, but these fellows have been reduced to street urchins.
No job vacancies, but the Governor, for fear of being ruined, selected 50 persons from members of the ‘OCCUPY WARRI GROUP’ and gave them employment.

A group, the Yoruba Intelligence Network said it has uncovered a plot to assassinate some key Yoruba leaders by fifth columnists in a effort to arouse the Southwest region into violence.
A statement by the head of the information bureau of the network, Kunle Aribisala said that prime on the list of the targets are Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka; former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Alani Akinrinade and former NADECO chieftain, Dr Amos Akingba.
"Information at our disposal indicates that the group behind the plot has chosen to strike against Dr Amos Akingba on Friday, said the network.
The Network also added that the fifth columnists in their build-up to the heinous acts have sold a dummy to Soyinka months ago through some fake security reports that Boko Haram was planning to eliminate him and other leaders which made him grant an interview to The News magazine where he raised the alarm.
The Network also said that in the last few months, the fifth columnists have tried all they could to create a Boko Haram scare in the South West through all kinds of false alarms.
"Their failure to achieve a precipitate action in the region is the reason they are now eager to eliminate these leaders to provoke violent reactions in the region"
The Network equally alleged that the news of a container expulsion at the Tin Can Port on Monday which was broken on AIT but suppressed in the media since then has forced it to cry out on these plots " part of the facts that we gathered was that an explosion would take place at Tin Can before these strikes"
It asked the people of the South West to look closely at a report planted in all newspapers in Nigeria a few days ago that a detention centre for Boko Haram members was to be built in Lagos.
"Who planted this story and to achieve what? Was it to prepare an excuse for strikes in the name of Boko Haram in South West? Are we seeing an orchestrated plan to create a war situation in the country by precipitating violence in a big nation like the Yoruba to achieve some sinister agenda by other people? Popular and controversial Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke last week Tuesday caused a mild drama in an Abuja court after his alleged 15 million naira case was heard.
Information reaching us states that after the court hearing of his alleged 15 million naira scam case, Jim Iyke allegedly ordered one of his aides to seize a fan's phone, who has been taking pictures of him at the court premises.
He also allegedly wiped out picture contents of him in the fan's phone. Jim Iyke was reportedly busy on his phone while his case was heard in court.
Meanwhile, Nigeriafilms.com also gathered that the police has finally established a criminal case against him.
The police told the court that a criminal case has been established against Jim Iyke for his alleged involvement in the transfer of company's share worth N15m to himself.
Getting to know about the absence of the company's manager, who invited the police into the case, Habiba Abubakar in court last Tuesday, the actor sought the dismissal of the case but the Magistrate, Azubike Okeagu denied the prayer.
The case has been adjournment till May 23.

The Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele have paraded two suspects who allegedly killed a 42-year old woman, Mrs. Sekinat Emiola but the accussed claimed she died of Magun. .
One of the suspects, Asimiyu Ayantayo the lover of the deceased allegedly beheaded her and cut off her two hands after making love with her.
But the suspect claimed the deceased died as a result of the killer charm (magun) that was placed on her by another man.
According to him, after making love with the deceased, she “under the spell of magun, somersaulted and died” he stated.
When asked why he beheaded her after her death, he said he never wanted to use her for rituals but to make it impossible for residents in the area to identify her.
“She was my mistress. I contacted magun on her during love-making. She wanted to sommersault but I helped her. Then she started vomiting after the act and she fell down from the chair and died. It was then I beheaded her and cut off her two hands. I don’t need the body parts for anything and I did nothing with it” he explained.
His accomplice, Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, also denied involvement in the act, saying his friend only sent him to buy a sack for him but did not know the purpose for which he needed it.
The parade of the suspects attracted many onlookers in Eleyele, who thronged the State Police headquarters to catch a glimpse of the suspect and the gory picture of the lady’s head and the hands that were severed by the suspects.
Speaking with journalists on the incident, the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Tambari Mohammed, said the neighbours of the deceased alerted the police about a headless body dumped in the area.

News about Kelechukwu Ogbonna Orji popularly known as Kelly Hansome seems very disturbing.
The reason is not far-fetched as the controversial artiste has reportedly descended on a journalist over a rumored story that he begged for a movie role.
The story, which was allegedly peddled last year May 2011 had it that Kelly Hansome was seen begging a movie producer for a role in his movie.
The artiste posted a picture of the arrested journalist online, where he was made to go naked holding a paper publication (as seen in the picture above).
Kelly Hansome then vowed to deal with other publications that reported the said story.
At about 9:36pm yesterday, Kelly was still ranting on dealing with media organisations that reported the story.
He tweeted, "by the time I'm done with this guy, NO journalist will put up any news without confirming it first. I will list the [web]sites soon for everyone to know."

Educational system in nigeria has fallen I swear. When I was admitted into my secondary school, we saw evidence of like 10-15 people getting this kind of result and it was nothing then, I remember when I was in js1, I had a friend who got 8 A1's and was crying. Anyhow sha my time it was only 1 person that got it in that same school, others did too in the state, but today, off the hundreds that wrote only 1 person got it in ondo state, I'm sure she's the only one in the south self...What is naija turning into, too much tv I guess? Police say an Indianapolis man forced a 10-year-old to have sex with his mother.
The Indianapolis Star reported Friday that 41-year-old Mark McCoy faces 27 felony counts and one misdemeanor count of charges including child molesting, child solicitation, criminal confinement and intimidation, reported AP.
Court records say McCoy coerced the boy to have sex with the boy’s 41-year-old mother. Records say the incidents also involved two others boys, ages 10 and 11. The woman tried but couldn’t escape several times.
McCoy was arrested March 30 and was being held Friday at the Marion County Jail on $50,000 bond. It wasn’t clear from jail records if he had an attorney. He’s due in court May 15.

Police say he came under suspicion while under investigation in southern Indiana’s Davies County.
