KwaraRat: Between IPOB wearing a Jewish attire and a Hausa arab slave which is more ridiculous?
Some of you are not even aware that the Emirate system is an Arab invention it's one thing to have your region influenced by islamization hundreds of years ago like the hausa. It's another thing entirely to adopt Jewish control over your people and pledge allegiance to president netenyahu. Both are slaves. But with IPOB it's worse because they're voluntarily enslaving themselves to the religion with no influence from isreal. |

Your lords and masters have no problem clinging to an alien Arab culture and religion in place of their since lost African traditions.

What Nnamdi Kanu and co are fighting for now is a small, land locked territory. Once again I agree with Joe Igbokwe. People need to reason and not rely on mushy sentiments and emotions. |

naijalander: Oga Craft Silicon, the biggest indigenous IT company in Kenya is owned by an Indian so what was that again about ?
And neither Tuskys nor Naivas will ever be as big as Nakumatt abeg! Especially Tuskys and their many scandals, see how Kirubi ran Uchumi to the ground!
Kikuyus only run the wholesale side of the economy. The dynamic is simple: the Asians (the Chinese have joined them) manufacture and the Kikuyus distribute at wholesale and retail level.
The tea part I can agree with cos those Limuru guys ain't playing but still I'm sure if I dig deeper, I'll find a couple of Indians growing tea too.
And the indigenous share of banking in Kenya is quite small compared to Naija. The Kikuyus and Somalis run the banking sector, it will surprise you how much influence Somalis have in Kenyan banking, Barclays for MD and current Minister of Industry and Investment is of Somali origin and your current majority leader in parliarment is also Somali. THANK GOD we don't have those problems. I'd be livid of Indians were running our manufacturing and businesses. They can be the WORST racists towards Africans. Just look at gandhi. |

Ednite: The thing you've raised here is realllly important, it's a talk worth to create a topic about. You guys not seeing us as a part of you is also a challange to us. But Norh Africans and Ethiopians are very different. North Africans isolated getting themselves closer to Arabs but Ethiopians isolated just being not part of Arabs. I think we were isolated because we rule ourselves by what we've created. Our own calendar, own time counting system, historical influence ( not being colonized) and most of all, a language we only use but not others. A language is a big door for communication, which we have lost to the rest of the world.
I have a question to ask to you and anyone in here
if you can't view us as Africans, ( which we are) then how do you view us? I can't speak for him but I definitely view Ethiopians as Africans. I live meeting new Ethiopians. More than other Africans honestly. |
Politics › Re: Who Is Responsible For Nigeria's Woes. Our Leaders Or The System ? by MrMaestro: 7:14pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
Rossikk: The PEOPLE are the problem.
The leaders come from the people.
A nation gets the leaders it deserves.
The average Nigerian would rather buy shoes made in Italy than shoes made in Nigeria.
Yet you expect the leaders to think in the opposite direction.
That's the definition of foolishness.
The average Nigerian, if he hears that his brother has been appointed a federal minister, is not thinking ''Wow, now my bro can help improve the lives of Nigerians''.
Nope. He's thinking ''wow.. time for me to hammer''.
This is why I laugh when people blame ''our leaders'' for our problems.
The fact is ''our leaders'' are only a reflection of us. Of who we are.
We need to look inwards on a person-by-person basis.
I see no other way. I agree wholeheartedly with this. Nigeria needs a revolution. As of 2016, 70.4% of Nigeria's population is under the age of 30. Let that sink in for a second. There is absolutely no reason as to why Nigeria shouldn't have a president that represents the ideals of the younger generation. Until the political sphere is taken from those who shouldn't be controlling it any longer, we will continue to have problems. We cannot continue to be cowardly as a younger generation. We must take our destiny in our hands, as it will never be given to us. |
Politics › Re: To All Secessionists: Give Me PROOF That A Broken Nigeria Is Better by MrMaestro(op): 3:56pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
freeze001: Which is then why Nigeria should be eliminated cos it is a failed country by all indices. The South Sudan u conveniently use as an example of a failed state after separation still has its very rich and successful ones despite the general malaise and mess that besets them.
The success and riches of a few individuals do not translate to general well-being of the majority and is not the mark of good development. Otherwise Nigeria has the richest man in Africa but where is Nigeria ranked on regional and international indices of development? Of what good is Dangote's riches if his region is still recorded ad the poorest and ravaged by the worst diseases possible? Even in wartime when u have possibly the worst human living conditions, there are people who make the most wealth. Does it stop their country from being war-torn and poor? Referring to actors as being rich and therefore enough reason to show that Nigeria is working is myopic at best.
Look at the NE. Is it not now the cynosure of all eyes in the name of rebuilding and reconstructing due to the unending BH menace? Do you not have billionaires from that region? Indimi for instance? Is it not funds for the so called reconstruction that are being smuggled and diverted by the likes of the SGF under investigation? Even in such pathetic conditions, a few are still getting rich. Movies about the terrible state of the IDPs and stuff will be made, actors earn good money but does it address the problem beyond creation of awareness?
The years of destruction of the Niger Delta and Biafran War effects have been translated into various movies. Has the FG addressed the problems of the ND? But actors, actresses, producers and sponsors have made money. Does that mean all is well with Nig because a few have excelled? Militants are threatening to go back to the trenches now because the untouchable central government has scammed them with promises they do not intend to keep. Politicians use the same persisting problems to canvas votes and go hide in the same central govt because the constitution gives the central govt that sole responsibility so state governors cannot do anything by law. Year in and out the call for decentralisation and devolution of power from the centre to federating units or regions are made yet nothing comes of it and Northerners particularly refuse to consider same because the current system is skewed in their favour. So what next? Fold hands and watch or decide to cut your losses and forge ahead under a separate arrangement since going to war is untenable now?
Look at first world, developed countries, they are mostly homogenous with the exception of a few like the US. Beyond that, the federating units are largely autonomous and not tied to the centre. No central govt in the US, UK or France for instance, commandeers resources from the regions and shares as it wills with the majority retained by the centre. That is what decentralisation and restructuring represents. In the absence of that, secession remains the viable alternative in order to correct these anomalies with the consent of the majority occupying the seceded region. Arab nations are mostly homogenous with the majority sect or tribe in power, that is why they succeed with their dictatorships. For real progress however, look at the UAE and see what real decentralisation can bring. I believe we need true federalism. Which solves a lot of the problems you mention. And there's more than a few that are successful. There are many musicians, directors, actors, businessmen and women that are millionaires in Nigeria. And no they're not royalty or have powerful families. Not everyone is rich, but it is ridiculous to think any developing country will have a massive amount of people getting wealthy. A few would get wealthy, then a portion of the poor will enter the middle class, it's happening in Nigeria and other developing countries around the world. You realize India and China have more people in poverty than all of Africa right? No developing country has the masses getting wealthy at the outset. Not India, not China, not Brazil, and not Nigeria. That's just a fact of life. Disintegration won't change that. |

Kemperor: There is no money in the Nigeria movie industry...
Come to think of it what does the north contribute in the all the sectors you mentioned
Allow Biafra to go because they owe you nothing.. They don't want the alliance anymore... They feel marginalized... They want to be on their own.. What is so difficult there Na by force...
It is better to start in square one than chilling in square 57 where there is no hope of unity...
Like I said before the foundation is weak...
How do u make better the foundation of a building?? Tell that to the actors and directors that are now all millionaires. |

Did you actually read or are you just talking just to talk? Ambode -“I was deeply shocked to learn of his death this morning. Only last month, he was in Lagos to join us celebrate our party leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He made his mark first as the first civilian Governor of Osun State and then as a Senator, he was one of the most prominent lawmakers who did not shy away from issues that affected Nigerians in general.
“He was very passionate about Nigeria’s progress and contributed immensely to the expansion of progressive politics especially in the South West. Senator Adeleke was a loving man, a peacemaker, a grassroots politician and a detribalized Nigerian who was well loved by his people,” Governor Ambode said. |

BermudaTriangle: Please omo Oodua, what are we doing about Oduduwa Republic ? We surely cannot continue in this contraption called Nigeria if we really love ourselves and our generations to come. I believe we can. Ogun receives 70% of foreign direct investment. Osun is developing, Lagos is continuing to develop, and DAWN (Development Agenda for Western Nigeria) is working. We don't have much to complain about. But if Nigeria we to split we'd probably be the biggest beneficiaries. |
