MTK chipset? Not in my country! |
Sarang:Hmmm... You can try something. Go to the Education board on Nairaland, check threads for various schools in the South East that fit your requirements and try to initiate conversations with posters who are students of such schools. That way, you'll get feedback from those presently consuming the services you intend providing. |

OP, location is very important in the real estate sector. In my opinion, due to the high number of tertiary institutions in university areas, students hostels would be a profitable venture. Students of Government-owned higher-institutions constantly suffer shortage of campus hostels. Hence, investors and private individuals build student hostels and let them to the students. For those in a place like Lagos, considering the fact that Lagos is a cosmopolitan city, land may be quite on the high side to embark on a project like this. However, if you look at somewhere like Ogun State, it has lots higher institutions and relative lower cost of land compared to Lagos. This makes it more viable. For example, in Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), you can easily get plots of land for around 2M and build hostels on them. (I'm using FUNAAB cos I have advised various clients who invested in this area). Very good Hostels in FUNAAB cost above 150k per annum depending on aesthetic beauty and facilities. If you build a 30-room hostel of self-contained rooms, and you charge 150k per room, you are guaranteed about 4.5M per year. More rooms can be built depending on the investor. You can bill per session or per year, it depends in the owner of the property. I have several Nairalanders with similar investments like this in FUNAAB and they're getting steady returns. You should however screen the type of students you intend to grant accommodation as it could cause you headaches later. Also, should put a benchmark on the number of students that can squat with each student in a room. Else, your hostel would turn into a civilian barrack. It's very important to ensure the hostel is comfortable and painted in very attractive colors. This attracts the higher paying students who should be your target. lalasticlala:Thanks for the heads up. |
Hi guys, I was going through Quora and I came across this question "would you marry the one who you love or the one who loves you?" Sounded quite interesting and I decided to throw it open to Nairalanders. cc: Lalasticlala Dominique OAM4J Seun Obinoscopy Farano Rocktation |
DOUBLEWAHALA:It is better to keep quiet and be presumed wise than to speak and remove all doubts as to your foolishness. |
The way Kanu talks makes me wonder how he reasons. It appears his lawyers are Incompetent and offer him wrong advise. |

baby124:I overestimated your intelligence. Within my previous post lies a cure for your ignorance. Sayonara! |
baby124:Pls, stop disgracing yourself here. If you don't know something, you ask questions. That's how enlightened people behave. The Legal Education Act wasn't passed by the Nigerian Law School. It's was enacted in 1962 before even the Law School was established. The Law School was established on the strength of the legislation contained in the Legal Education Act. |
baby124:You're actually wrong. The Legal Education Act is part of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN). The constitution of Nigeria is also part of the LFN. |
yim:Were you in his campus in the NLS and possess first hand information or you read about it like others? |
beberebe:That's nice. Together, we can achieve great things. |
uglyafonja:Tractors for strength of the stomach, fighter helicopters for military strength. |
Okay |
NwaAmaikpe:Including your father. |
NwaAmaikpe:And we all saw how PDP turned Nigeria into heaven. |
OP, don't try it. You're about making a decision you'll regret. |
No matter how much iTel spends on having paid posters like the OP market its products, its inferior and ridiculous specifications would chase away the few customers iTel has. |

taylor88:In Nigeria, a cinema ticket provides more guarantee than a certificate. A cinema tickets guarantees you entrance into the cinema but a certificate doesn't you a job. Education is not a license to a comfortable life or wealth. Until you can provide value, nothing for you o! Provide value and watch how banks would be begging you to open deposit accounts with them. |
Ojukwu militarized Biafra Uwazuruike commercialized Biafra Kanu is about making others ostracize Biafra. |
Sirheny007:Obviously, you're not in the know-how of the Lagos property market. This is still very rampant in areas where Traditional land owners have vast portions of land. In fact, the best deals are land deals with non-cash payments. Some use cars, others use professional services or sponsorships. |

By the time open grazing is banned everywhere but the core northern states, the herdsmen would be forced to try ranching. |
xcommando:Firstly, what do you want from your landlord and caretaker? Refund of monies paid, relocation to another suitable property or a longer time to enjoy the property. If the property is in Lagos, contact the Citizens Mediation Centre. If it is in any other state, contact the Citizens Rights Department of the Ministry of Justice. There are lawyers there who would mediate on your behalf and try to settle it based on the principles of equity and justice and for free too. I suggest you talk to the landlady and let her know that you're not against her selling the property, but it's wrong to do so with sitting tenants on the property. Tell her that you made payment to her validly appointed agent and she didn't and as at when you paid, there was no notice that the agent was no longer representing her. Now, tell her what you want. Either a refund of your complete rent or a longer notice. Tell her you have spoken to your lawyer and they want to take the matter to court and put an injunction on the property but that you want to speak to her first and see if she's a reasonable person before you proceed. Whatever you do, be very fair, firm and just as you'll be a landlord one day. |
xcommando:Which state is the property located? Do you have a tenancy agreement? This your matter is interesting, don't leave it here in Page 2. I advise that you open a new thread and I'll tag the mods to push it to the FP. That way, you'll get more input. |
