PoliticsRe: 50 Nigerian Soldiers Drowned In Bayelsa Creeks, Not 3 — N’delta Avengers by MrMcJay(m): 3:32pm On Jun 01, 2016
meccuno:
For a country to be great, the individuals of a country would be willing to defend the country and if possible die for it. A situation where a union is one that is done through coercion will not stand the test of time. A union which is done just for the sole aim of parasitic and a tilted trade of balance is one that is not left to desire. The North and the south west has been favoured tremendously in this improper federal structure in terms of infrastructure, political appointments, and positions in all federal civil services. I for one have always wanted Nigeria. But not one of injustice. We cannot say all is well with the things happening all around us. Like I used to tell my friends, the civil war would have been much more bloody,if it had been fought in the 80's. And if another is fought, Nigeria will never be the same again. The Niger Delta has been neglected for several years and I wonder the magic that would have been done by governors or the local government chairman if the utilise their allocation. We should ask what has the federal government done to protect its citizens there. A government who cedes its ancestral land to a foreign country just to please western powers is not only myopic and unintelligent. The only way we can make Nigeria great is to practise federalism because we are still in a unitary system of government. Failure to do so would only set the tones of what would happen in the nearest future. There would continue to be crises and as sanusi emir of kano said, there wwould arise a group of igbos who never experienced the war who would get tired of being second class citizens and wage a war and in the end get that peace which the germans achieved in the second world war. Make no mistake. The war fought in 66, was fought in the eastern region. But the next one would spread all over the country. We as Nigerians have a faulty foundation. Playing politics with it is only postponing the doomsday.
Apart from Lagos, where else has enjoyed FG presence in the SW? Mind you since Abuja became the FCT, Lagos has been neglected. If you doubt me, go and see the neglected state of FG facilities in Lagos.

As demands political appointments, in the last administration, the most senior SW man in government was no. 14 in power. The SW didn't wail. It re-strategized and formed strategic alliances with others. Today, it has the VP seat. Power is not gotten on a platter of gold, you have to form alliances.

When Ojukwu contested for the Presidency, the SE refused to vote for him. During the last admin, the SE refused to demand federalism. When Okonjo-Iweala was the coordinating minister of Nigeria's economy, the SE refused to support federalism.

Next time, hold your profligate governors responsible for the state of the SE. After all, the PDP messed up the entire SE region for 16 years and you voted them back in. Live with the consequences of your actions.

Eluwilussit:
Seriously, I dont see anything that sounds like One Nigeria in all of your post. For goodness sake, we strive to become anything we aspire to in foreign lands, but we are strangers in our own country?

Anyway, I wonder when it became the duty of Kwakwanso to tell Ambode what is good for his state. Also, why did Kwakwanso come for the northern youths? Are there not some Lagosians/Southerners that were arrested too?

This idea of North and south is getting us no where. We should at be Nigerians with only state of residence.
When someone commits a crime such as murder and arson and another big chief travels for hundreds of kilometres to ensure such person is set free, there is no problem. The problem is when that big chief insists on the murderer being thrown back into the midst of those he committed crimes against.

As for Kwankwaso, he's an ignorant twerp. The Land Use Act empowers the government to acquire land for public use. Ambode can decide to close down Mile 12 market and turn it into a memorial park for those killed in the conflict and it's perfectly legal.

Atiku has potentials to be president..I think he will do well..He is well grounded on the factors that influence our economy either way..OBJ only tried to paint him black for selfish reasons.Atiku may not be a saint but he is more oriented &matured in dealing with political, socioeconomic& ethnoreligous issues that deter the country's advacement at least far more than buhari..Atiku is experienced, more youthful and in line with the new age economic principles..
I agree. He should be the first president of Biafra.

Musa Kwankwaso is not in a position to advise the yoruba owners of Lagos State or its yoruba Governor. Until he can trace his family's house in Lagos, he should shut she bleep up and thank the LASG for even giving them half plot of land to trade on.

If this is unacceptable to him or any of his band of murderers, they can use Dangote trucks to carry their cattle and onions back to the North.

Guy, due to the nature of my job, I have contacts of guys in Federal SARS at Adeniji Adele in Lagos as I need them too. If you go all jelly and beggy, they'll ride u like a donkey. They're like wild animals who sense fear. It's part of their training. They presume that fear is an indicator of guilt.

The first thing when they stop you is to demand to speak to their team leader. Don't start shaking like a woman about to cum.

Oh sweet memories. I remember once when i was stopped by a policeman at a check point and after checking my papers, they demanded egunje. I refused. Since they saw that i was not going to comply they demanded to do a thorough check of my vehicle and person. I did not object, especially since i noticed they had been drinking and had riffles on them. After looking through my wallet, they saw a credit card and automatically labeled me a yahoo guy. They said i had to cough out 50k else i would spend the night in detention. I said no problem. I asked if it was possible to call someone to bring the money for me and they said yes. I promptly called the U.S consulate and they sent a representative down to the check point to see what was going on. The funny thing was the policemen didn't understand who they were and tried to arrest them for having illegal plates. So funny. After grasping the situation, come see begging. God, i felt so good. From being called yahoo boy they started begging on their knees calling me "oga". Nigeria is so phucked.
Reminds me of an incident on Thompson Road in Ikoyi just before British Council, there was this convoy of policemen who left their lane and faced oncoming traffic.

Unfortunately for them, the convoy of the British High Commissioner was what they faced. Come and see uniformed begging. They were prostrating on the road as the HC's convoy refused to let them go.

Another time in Opebi. I was in a cab when these cops stopped me. They asked of my occupation and I told them I'm a lawyer. They asked of my ID and I asked if I'm under suspicion of any offence. They said I was rude. They now insisted on going through my phone. I told them that if anyone went through my phone, that would be the last day such person would wear the police uniform.

What I did was to call one of my dad's friends who was a DIG at that time. I told the leader to speak to him. Once he heard the name, the man started sweating and stammering. I just collected my phone and walked away. I told them I was going to work their transfers to the NE.

Most of these cops are illiterates and they're giving the few good eggs a bad name.

OP, if you how the name of the guys who harassed you, send me a PM.

There are political, economic, religious and traditional leaders. Each has different spheres of influence. What has the Sultan of Sokoto done for the economy of Sokoto or what has the Alaafin of Our done for the economy of Oyo?

This request should be channeled to the appropriate quarters as all parts of Nigeria are feeling the economic pains.

u are the one with warped mind and analogy in this case concorting falsehood just to deceive urself and others like you.
U rejected ur own obj preferring olu falae in 1999 who eventually lost but obj won with igbo and hausa votes why because the north trusted him and he was moderate to us during the war,he arranged the documents of surrender for us when others are fuming with rage.
As for ojukwu we knew that our votes cannot make him president and obj has been favorable to us.
Anyway what u do not know is bigger than you and its very unfortunate that no amount of education can help a bigot and an slowpoke.
Note:i dont have time for hatefilled suffering bigots.because i wont reply any of ur trash again.
No need getting worked-up over nothing. When you lose your temper, you've lost the argument.

OBJ and Olu Falae were both Yorubas but Falae was more popular in Yoruba land. Isn't it ironic that chose OBJ who killed Igbos in the war over Falae who wasn't involved in the war?

Since you say OBJ was favourable to the SE, there should be no noise of deprivation coming out again. Deep down, you know the truth.

The SE needs a new set of leaders who are ready to tell their people the truth and willing to take the SE out of political wilderness. The era of serving other geo-political zones at the expense of the SE has to stop.

Have a great day.

Unfortunately you lack common sense to say such trash about the people of SE. PDP is the party that is more national and has given the south east a sense of belonging. Ojukwu didn't contest election to win but to reposition APGA. An average Igbo man knew that Ojukwu can't win an election in Nigeria and don't ask me why. Igbos are well rooted in PDP when it comes to presidential elections. You can't say such in other elections as we have seen an incumbent PDP governor lose election in Imo state. PPA and APGA have also won elections in the south east. All the names you mentioned contested with PDP ticket. Igbos do not forget easily, go and ask Ngige why he lost. Hopefully PDP win zone the VP slot to SE and you will test our resolve. The truth is that Igbos can never be comfortable with Buhari or any party that promotes islam above Christianity. We have no regret voting for PDP and GEJ.
The initial part of your post shows the kind of upbringing you had. I won't retaliate your bad manners. I provided hard facts and you're convulsing over emotional tantrums.

You have no say in political matters and I would ignore you. When the time comes, you'll remember this post and bite your fingers.

Going by your warped analogy, the person you supported in the first free and fair election lost. That speaks volumes of the calibre of support you have to offer.

APC needs to curry the SS or the SE to be able to remain 2019. The SW has put itself in a place where it will be overlooked for a long while.

If PDP zones to the north, with a SE vice, be rest assured the SS will support.
PoliticsRe: 2019 Campaign Poster Of Shettima & Okorocha Surfaces In Abuja by MrMcJay(m):
Traditionally, the SE doesn't vote Against the ruling party at the Presidential elections. 2015 was a miscalculation because they thought Goodluck was going to win.

In 1999, they betrayed Ekwueme at the PDP primaries and voted Obasanjo at the elections.

In 2003, they betrayed Ojukwu who contested under APGA and voted for Obasanjo of PDP.

In 2007, they betrayed Orji Uzor Kalu of PPA and voted Yar'Adua of PDP.

In 2011, they voted Goodluck under PDP instead of Osita Okechukwu.

In 2015, they voted GEJ again, but he lost.

Opposition politics is new to the SE and they can NEVER survive it. One reason is that the SE hasn't had a central rallying force since the time of Ikemba. The present leaders are just fraudsters, thieves and crooks.

The SE votes are very inconsequential simply because they are predictable. Buy the leaders and the people vote as usual. That is what the present PDP leadership is rubbing in the faces of the PDP members at the national level.

Mark this post, by 2019, the SE would vote massively for the APC even if it is an Hausa goat not even human being that is contesting.

Allowing Labaran Maku to leave PDP in Nasarrawa was a big error cool cool cool
Maku is a nobody in Nassarawa politics. He was a federal politician with zero structure or understanding of state politics. Even if he was the flagbearer of PDP in the last election, he would still have lost due to 3 reasons"

a. He has no influence on ground in Nassarawa.
b. Those who hold the aces in Nassarawa state PDP would frustrate him.
c. The then Governor was in the APC.

On a serious note, Osun State's economy is improving. The financial accident that the state faced has forced the government to look towards agriculture. That's what that Aregbe should have done since.

As for Ekiti, they don't have a government.

Don't mind him. He wants Buhari to drink Kaikai with them.

The truth is that terrorists do not understand the language of peace and negotiations. They only understand force, violence and destruction.

The only way to stop the ND avengers is to provide provide world-class amenities and jobs for the people of the ND. I mean jobs and not just sharing money to them. The next step is to punish vandals with a very heavy hand and very publicly too. This would make vandalism unattractive and provide a profitable alternative to vandalism.

You don't go and beg terrorists who have been bombing you without u responding. Reply in kind and then call for a truce. Otherwise, one party would abuse the negotiation process.

The civil service is the highest employer of labour as well as largest industry in Kogi. Unfortunately, it has been dominated by the Igala people at the detriment of the Okun, Ebira, Bassa, etc. I think Bello is trying to do what Ihejirika did in the Army, but it is usually very difficult.
