I strongly advise otherwise. I recently installed Whatsapp on my E72 and my gawd it was a sorry experience. Fine it's a good app in theory - the closest thing to BB pinging. But, it drains your data plan (or credit in the absence of a data plan), and worst of all, it drains your battery life as well. Most annoyng part is that I uninstalled the app, yet it continues to drain my data (the gprs is always running!) and battery; apparently the uninstallation could not remove the embedded ROM process that is responsible for the 'always on' feature of the app. I had to do a hard reset of the phone to end the nightmare! Whatsapp sucks!
grin grin grin

Well, that doesn't happen on BlackBerry. wink

2 Thessalonians 2:3

ANTI-CHRIST IS AROUND THE CORNER. WHEN EVERY HUMAN IS NUMBERLIZED AND SERIALIZED! THEN THE GLOBAL STAGE  WILL BE PREPARED FOR THE WORLD GOVERNMENT HEADED BY THE MAN OF SIN.

JUST AS YOU HAVE NIGERIAN CODE AS +234, THE GLOBAL NUMBER WOULD BE 666. THE + IN THE 234 MEANS SOMETHING ELSE SHOULD COME BEFORE IT. SO THE 666 THAT WILL BE INTRODUCED WILL BE A MARK THAT EVERYONE WHO SUBMITS TO THE WORLD LEADER WILL HAVE AS A SIGN OF ALLIGIANCE.

TO ESCAPE THIS, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT BEYOND ALL THESE OUR POLITICAL AND EARTHLY STRUGGLES, YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS GUARANTEED AND THAT IF RAPTURE TAKES PLACE, YOU WON'T BE LEFT BEHIND
You're getting it wrong here. I myself have had this thought, tho, I don't support the biometric. But with the Identification card, we'll be able to carry out free and fair election. And also it will curb crime. Do you know when US has been using the SSN?

If this can be carried out with a secure database where your identification number will be checked before you can vote, it will be great. Then it will be bye bye to electoral fraud.
PoliticsFrench Tv, Radio Programs Slapped With Social Media Restriction by mrofficial(op): 10:07am On Jun 07, 2011
Paris (CNN) -- A decree from the early 1990s, reimplemented by French regulators, is putting an end to French television and radio announcers naming social networking sites on air except for news purposes.

The decree banned "clandestine advertising": the promotion of a brand outside the boundaries of recognized publicity avenues.

The reimplementation of the ruling by France's Superior Audiovisual Council means that French programs will no longer be able to urge their viewers or listeners to follow them on specific sites, such as Twitter, as has become the norm in worldwide broadcasting.

The controversy began when an unnamed French TV channel approached the council to ask whether, under this decree, they had the right to direct viewers to social sites.

Christine Kelly, spokeswoman for the council explained: "Facebook and Twitter are commercial brands like Coca-Cola or L'Oreal or any other. There are many social networking sites on many topics -- cooking, animals -- why should we mention one and not others?"

From now on news anchors will be able to give only vague instructions as to where to find information online, such as "follow us on social networking sites."

French bloggers have been up in arms on Twitter and some have even composed tongue-in-cheek ways to get round the ban. One suggested: "find live coverage of the trial on our thread on the platform which spreads messages of 140 characters"

French commentators have been speculating on the real roots of this regulation. Matthew Fraser, a social networking expert and author of "Throwing Sheep in the Boardroom," a book looking at the online social media revolution, believes the ban could be a sign of defiance against Anglo-Saxon cultural domination.

"In my mind," he said, "if it had been a French social networking site then nobody would have wanted it to be regulated, but because these sites symbolize the United States, regulation is there."

This is not the first time anglicized, Internet-related vocabulary has been banned in France. In 2003 the use of the word "e-mail" was forbidden in all government literature. This was due to the Toubon law, which tries to protect the purity of the French language from anglicized words and phrases.

This time, however, the Superior Audiovisual Council insists that the ban is in no way linked to language purity.

"It's not at all related. It's true that we are very attached to the French language and defend it a lot, but , this is simply about reapplying existing regulations," Kelly said.

The council's decision did not cause much of a debate in the French media. Fraser believes that unlike cheese or wine there were no French interests involved and the French are simply used to regulation. "It doesn't faze them because it's part of their culture," he said.

Kelly emphasized the cultural differences that need to be taken in to account: "We have many, many rules which do not exist elsewhere. There is a very different context for this from one country to another. In the U.S., for example there are advertisements on TV every five minutes, whereas in France its more like every 20 minutes." She added that, similarly, in the United States product placement is commonplace, but it is forbidden in France.

Many are struck by the bizarre timing of the ban as it comes on the heels of the e-G8, an internet summit in Paris at which President Nicolas Sarkozy met with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Vanguard learnt that he has started mentioning names after being grilled for more than 12 hours by the anti-graft agency over alleged financial impropriety in the House of Representatives during his tenure which ended last week.
Yeye thief. He's beginning to mention names. Bank-ole, don't worry, you're not the only one who's gonna rot in jail, so just keep mentioning. You'll definitely be the speaker when you and your culprits land in kirikiri.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has mapped out fresh strategies on how to arrest the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, SUNDAY PUNCH findings have revealed.

The commission, which rose from an emergency meeting on Friday, said it had also set up two teams to verify and ascertain Bankole’s properties in Lagos and Ogun states.

All unit heads at the Abuja headquarters of the EFCC attended the meeting.

SUNDAY PUNCH findings revealed that the teams were constituted and their members asked to go to the states immediately for the assignment.

They were also mandated to ensure that all Bankole’s properties in the two states are properly identified as this could aid the prosecution of the Speaker. Our correspondent gathered that the EFCC chair, Farida Waziri, vowed to detain Bankole on Monday.

A reliable source at the EFCC who did not want to be mentioned said, “He has boxed himself to a corner. Now, he cannot afford to be on the defensive any longer. If he had honoured our invitation last week and come to the office himself, we would not have detained him. The maximum time he would have spent with us would have been one hour. But now that he wants to do it his way, he cannot escape detention. We are going to detain him.

“It is obvious that we have given him a long rope and we are eagerly waiting for him to honour his words that he will come to us on Monday by 12pm. If he does not come to us, we will go to him. What happened on Friday will not repeat itself.”

Following the commission’s resolve, surveillance around the Speaker and members of his family has been stepped up on Saturday.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Femi Babafemi, said, “We got information that he was planning to leave the country so we put him on our watch-list and he remains on it till he turns himself in or we arrest him.”

Bankole, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Bakare, however said, “Contrary to widespread speculations that the outgoing Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole, has been arrested or resisted EFCC arrest, the Speaker has informed officials of EFCC of his intention to honour their invitation on Monday June, 2011 at 2pm.”

The EFCC had launched an investigation into Bankole’s activities following a petition from a group, Youth Anti-Corruption League.

The group had called on the EFCC to investigate the N10bn loan controversy, Bankole’s role in the N2.3bn car scam, and the mismanagement of the N9bn capital budget of the House for 2008/2009.

Twice, Bankole had spurned the summons of the EFCC over the N10bn loan, the last of such invitations was Tuesday.

The outgoing speaker had written to the anti-graft commission, rescheduling the time to appear before the five-man panel of investigators probing into the alleged scam in the House.

Men of the anti-graft commission had invaded Bankole’s home following security reports that Bankole was preparing to flee to the United Kingdom and this prompted the operatives to mount surveillance in his residence around 8pm on Thursday night.

It was gathered that on sighting EFCC operatives, Bankole made frantic calls to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim, and other prominent Nigerians asking them to come to his aid.

This call was said to have prompted Ringim’s visit to Bankole’s house where he reportedly increased the security around the Speaker.

It was learnt that all attempts by the EFCC operatives to gain access to him were resisted by a detachment of policemen, including some members of the Police Mobile Force and a shoot-out between the policemen and EFCC members of staff was quickly nipped in the bud.
