What baffles me in this issue is that the government is accussing Dasuki of diverting or misappropriating $2.2 billion ( 500 billion naira). Yet they took him to court for diverting 13billion naira. Who then is responsible for the rest?

Why cant DSS pursue their case to supreme Court? Meanwhile, remember that it is the judges that will determine if there is a threat to National Security or not. DSS, the President, you or me has not such prerogative.

I know the writer might not read my post, but it is good to comment anyway. The executive has no right to interpret the law. The right resides with the judges. In democratic societies, the executive have the only option of appealing the court rulings by quoting the supreme Court pronouncements and convincing the judges to obtain rulings in their favour. Another question is: why is DSS unable to get rulings favourable to them? Why do they rely on unethical approach of discovering new evidence in all the charges; Dasuki, 3 times, Kanu 2 times ? Can't they do there investigation properly before rushing to court.?

You're right. Where the judgments have favoured PDP, there were no contradictions but where they favoured APC, there were. Jesters!

It is not true. Many of us condemned the court for favouring PDP. I remember that vivdly especially during OBJ regime which prompted Yar'Adua to promise to abide by rule of law. One of our problems is repeating the actions of our opponents which we rightly condemned.

My hatred for corruption made me not to befriend any politician from councillors to the president. But I hate media trial and jungle justice more. If the presidency has concrete evidence against Dasuki, they should present it before court. Or are we saying that all Nigeria high court judges are also corrupt?

Bros, no one is exonerating Dasuki, I will even love to hear that he is convicted and sent to jail. That is why I supported change of government. This present administration will be better than the former . Nevertheless, as a victim of false accusation, I don't support media trial. What PMB should do is to have a closed door meeting with members of NJC so as to win their support. He can also investigate all judges to arrest the corrupt ones. After sanitizing the judiciary, then all corrupt politicians would be arrested. But to disobey court order, it is no no to all learned men. Civilization started in the law courts. Don't downplay its importance.

How are sure of what you are saying? If you have evidence, present them before the judges and argue your case. That is why we have lawyers and courts. If you do not want court processes, why then do we still foot their bills? Close down all courts and start jungle justice. One day you will become a victim of false accusation then you will know the importance of separation of powers.

What you ask your self before buying arms is what type of ammunitions and the countries that produce the best? Where are you likely to source for it? Do Russia , China or other countries have the exact equipment your soldiers are trained to handle? Russia or China may have the best military warfare but are they better in guerrilla warfare like the US who have over the years been fighting in the middle east. Man it is not as simple as you put it. Do you know how long it took arms to arrive from Ukraine? Black market was for short time supply while they wait for the arrival of arms from Ukraine. Some of the arms arrived from Ukraine at the twilight of the last administration. That was one of the reasons for the postponement of the election. Even GEJ said it during the campaign. I heard that some arms arrived during this regime. Some of the reasons for the victories recorded by our soldiers in recent time over BH. Buying from other countries also means bringing the experts c to train our soldiers on how to operate those war equipment. They took the best option before them. Although their selfish interest beclouded their patriotism and sense of duty.

There is nothing difficult to understand here. No country was ready to do business with Nigeria. The only option the administration had was to buy from black market which transactions are done in cash in order to cover their track to avoid sanctions from the US. It is unfortunate that the black market purchases encourage looting anyway

When has coming into a country without a passport become a treasonable felony? I know of many Chadians and Nigeriens caught with ammunitions but none has been charged with treason. Even if Kanu committed the crime of treason, why did DSS not charge him so since last three months he was arrested? Why was he charged with terrorism instead?
