sosoluv: You find a men calling a girl a golddigger, maneater simply because her expectations and his bank account or social status don't go hand in hand. I'm not talking about women who need another guy's money for survival, I'm talking about women who make their own money and expect their partner to be in the same position or something similar. A guy once complained about talking a girl out for pizza and macdonalds...I'm thinking they probably don't have anything on the menu that could more than $20 each and u complain about something so petty?if she really wanted money she would actually go hunt for someone who has it! Is it their inadequacy that makes them feel so insecure that they have to give names to every single woman who has her reasonable expectations? If this pisses u off more than my previous threads just don't follow it, thank u.
Some humans are dumb....but i agree about women searching for gold would find the one who got the gold.

Romance › Re: Why is the use of the word "love" overrated? by MrsChima(f): 9:49am On Jul 05, 2012
Long One: So, what is the right definition? Your view is highly appreciated.

It takes maturity to understand what love is, definitely not what one experiences during teenage years, I mean with raging hormones and all, more of infatuation in his case.

Love is all-encompassing, most importantly seeing someone for who they are, weaknesses, failings and all, yet still wanting to be with them.
The love I am talking about is something many of you will never experience nor wouldn't know if it stuck to your arse. It is pure and wholesome.
Short Quick post before i go,

You can even take it down to a smaller scale

Look at Arabs....

Would you say the Arab World is Ahead of the "Black World"?

.....?

As an American, who is sitting back watching the World's strongest Military go toe to toe with them.....

I would.

Do you know why?

Because just like East Asians, and Whites, Arabs have a Brotherhood.

Their brotherhood has allowed them to keep control of their oil, their number 1 greatest resource

Can we say the same about Ghana and Nigeria and the rest of Africa?..

We have no Loyalty, and we also lack the courage of Arabs.....

I shouldn't even type this because the Cia might investigate me and shut my godamnn computer off

But i Admire the Courage of The Arab World......

"Blacks" Could Learn a Thing or 2 from them.....

.....Warriors.......Flat Out.....Warriors.... wink

You know what Arab extremist do to Sellouts?

.....They cut their fhhucking heads off......

...The Black man is a Weak Coward and A Fool.....

He lost His Own damn Continent because he was a Sellout, greedy Fool who got manipulated....

White Devil....Yeah ok.....You mean Black Fool
I created a thread a few months back regarding the world view on Black men. In my comment...I stated that Black men are considered the bottom of the totem pole by society as a whole. I also referenced Western society without labeling any countries outside of Western society. Many chatters came on the thread with their chest out and foaming at the mouth.

I even made a comment that a BLACK WOMAN had a powerful position before a BLACK MAN goes to show you how the world think of Black men. We have a Black president....they have called him a nigga, brought rifle guns to town hall meetings, threw a note at him with things he needs to do as a president, and questioned about his identity.

Condoleeza Rice is the Black woman I was speaking of. She worked side by side with George Bush dumb arse. She was third in power before Colin Powell. George Bush could have easily picked a Black man....hell he could have picked an African with 29 degrees.

You have Africans with Doctoral degrees driving taxi cabs....it goes to show you degrees don't mean shit if you are not aligned with the right people and brotherhood don't mean shit.

Koreans and Vietnameses would fight together before Igbos and Hausas would. That's sad.

Is there an issue with Black Americans or Blacks in general? My question again.....would there ever be an universal unity with colored/black folks?

I remembered going to an African festival and noticed that people socialized with their own. Somalians were with Somalians, South Africans with South Africans etc. Some people were competitive and showcasing their "culture treasures" and I remembered hearing some remarks and jabs at Nigerians. I thought that since America is a country where everyone can be what they want and practice their beliefs without persecution that African people in America would leave tribal wars in the ground. It was clear that people intended to represent their countries and damn the rest.

No matter where you are...there are violence with colored folks....Blacks in Africa are bombing their own people over the difference in religion and beliefs and Blacks in America/UK are stepping on each other because they want to get a pat on the head from the Elites.

Black people came a long ways from being Kings and Queens to settling for whatever just to get by. How sad.

I read a comment on this thread about African kids being laughed at by few Black American kids and White kids dared grin. Hmm...I am first to say that there are ignorance in every creed...just because a few White kids didn't chuckle doesn't mean they don't think less of you. My granny always said a sneaky biatch is the worse kind. You never know what to expect from them and they are not honest. I am sure other Black American kids didn't think it was funny. Exaggerating is unnecessary.

One thing I can say about many Black Americans is that you will get what on their mind. There is no hiding nor sugar coating with many Black Americans.

ezeagu: Pay attention to even just East Asian news and you'd see that there's no "racial harmony" between east Asians. Yes, they come together in the diaspora and form associations to maximise their presence and strength, and they have a cordial relationship a lot of the times, but I can assure you that there is no "racial harmony" between a Japanese and a Korean or Han Chinese for example or even a Han Chinese and a muslim Uighur of West China, in fact it's the opposite. Here's a few reasons why:

Koreans who have been in Japan several generations are not seen as Japanese, they are treated like outcasts like every other non Japanese including Chinese, there's even tension between the Japanese and the small Korean minority in Japan, search videos on Youtube and you will see angry Japanese blaming Koreans for masking under the Japanese identity to commit crimes (like many West Africans do with Nigerian nationality when drug trafficking/fraud). Japan and China largely ignore each other and Japan sees China as an old relic and China actually sees Japan just a little bit short of an enemy because of WWII. Did you know Japan invaded northern China in WWII massacring Chinese men and raping Chinese women, many of who have illegitimate descendants in China? Did you know Korea (united) and the Philippines were colonised and occupied by the Japanese which still causes tensions today?

There's even a problem with some Asians when they marry from another country/culture. Look at the diaspora and you will see the Asians working together are usually the generation after their migrant parents. So there's no such thing as a "racial harmony", they don't even really see themselves as the same "race". They only cooperate which is what I think Africans should do instead of forcing some kind of false sense of unity that has never even existed since Shaka Zulu was raping and pillaging everyone around him to Nigeria dropping bombs on their "citizens".

Co-operation not "unity".
In order to cooperate...you need to unite right? Unite means to come together....why is it difficult for colored folks to "unite" despite differences?

We really can't blame what the past did but we can control where our future ends.

anonymous6: Cosign 100%, if you go to Harvard, johns Hopkins University, and etc many educated Nigerians and other africans attending there have doctorate, engineering and etc degrees and many of them came from poor backgrounds, and the rest are actually from middle class backgrounds, not to many from wealthy backgrounds.
I may have missed something but there is nothing said on this thread from my recollection that Africans student came from wealthy families. Well to do means having the ability to obtain...i.e. work, start a business etc.

Where would one get the funds beside working or family support? I have never met an African student came over with just a hand full of rice and their good looks.

I guess I was fortunate.

PhysicsQED: Why do you keep talking about student visas? I never commented on the student visa stuff because it wasn't what I was talking about in the first place.

In the original post, you simply claimed that an African student had to be from a "well to do" family to be schooling in America, which is simply false. End of.
First of all I was talking to Ms. Darkskin and YOU asked me to clarify...MY ANSWER REGARDING STUDENT VISA was toward MS. DARKSKIN because she asked me A QUESTION.

anonymous6: A tough one, but I think it depends really. People need to remember that this concept/philosophy never existed with Blacks in the first place, along with many races. However I feel there will be Universal Unity amongst Black Africans due to economics or economically but with Black diasporians? I doubt it especially with African americans but possibly with Black Caribbeans, because the views about how to move forward between the communities are different, which is understandable because the issues the communities face are different. I feel when it comes to racism all blacks worldwide sympathize but after that it goes out the window. This debate is to late quite frankly, Africans have many issues facing their community that it is just not a priority since what Black africans face in their country is different from african americans. Despite that that doesn't mean their can never be a distant understanding eventually amongst the communities though but unity in general, I don't know.

Despite that though never say never because a few african countries are doing out reach programs with africans americans like Ghana, South Africa, Liberia and etc but both groups go through a wake up call when they finally meet because most Black african citizens of their countries treat them as Americans while what african americans expect from africans is not what the receive in return, so that is a little gray. Although that is the case I feel it is a good step though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jFviE37E2Y

At the end of the day though I don't think it is possible among black africans and Black diasporians because most black africans don't hold that philosophy of world wide black unity because racism is not what they face in their homelands(except South Africa) but poverty, tribalism(more so in other countries then others), corruption NOT Racism, so it is not a priority for them. When it comes to Black diasporians world wide Black unity is a philosophy they hold very dear, especially Africans americans(excluding Black Latina's since they don't care). I believe in the future their will be Black African unity(NOT united states of AFRICA) when it comes to economic development and etc but worldwide black unity is a stretch. This video brings up some points about that(I don't agree with everything entirely he says but he does bring up some great points).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSYpAD5iipc&feature=fvsr

The example blacks need to follow is fix your backyard before fixing others and it shouldn't be by force; so African americans need to concentrate on their community solely to progress their community, Black africans need to start progressing their own countries then start helping other Black african countries, and that goes with Black Caribbeans as well in their communities. That doesn't mean communities Blacks from different communities can't converse with one another but after that it shouldn't be forced.

New world blacks and old world blacks just see things differently, so I doubt it. I feel economic development shouldn't be the focus with Black africans and Black Caribbeans, not universal Black unity
I read all that you said and I hear you.

You can have 20 million of Africans working together to build a bridge so it is easy to cross from one side to the next but if you have 10 million ignorant niggas on the side talking about they are tired and throwing sand in your garri....how can a bridge be built?

The same thing goes for Black Americas, Black Brits, and Carribs. There are thousands of Blacks in America and Islands working together but constantly have to fight ignorant niggas at the same time. They are working harder to bring progression in their communities the same thing for Africans.

How do you expect Africans to work together when they can't even spend a day without worrying about who is Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Ashanti, Zulu, and Bantu?

Many Black Americans complaining about the "white man" when many Africans complaining about whom is the lightest! Really?

The question is....do anyone even like themselves enough to move forward?
Lol those nairaland Ladies wanted no parts of Debating Royal

Only Sholly had the courage to show up, The rest viewed like cowards on the guest list.

This isn't Usa Vs Nigeria/Africa

This is Proficiency VS Inability

If you Write "Americans Are Poorly Educated", or "Americans Speak Bad English", "Americans are Lazy always Blaming White Men"

Come Debate, and Let's see

Because Last time i checked, those same stereotypes were Applied and inappropriately attached to Africans x10,000

I think some of our "African" brother's and Sisters are Unaware of their Own stereotypes placed on them by the world

Ill Be Happy To Educate if need be wink

One of the Great Ironies Of World History is that, Black Americans of the New World are Children of the Black Africans who Sold Us away to be Slaves

Yet

Ironically 400 years later the descendants of those Black African's, their African "Children" are now "jealous" because we do not have to "Work" as Hard as Our Brothers and Sisters back "home"(lol) do, because of the endless opportunities and luxuries afforded to us by freedom and wealth

They are Jealous of Americans because Life is much easier over here and Hard Work is not needed to achieve outstanding Lifestyle, Most of Our Sisters and Brothers back "home"(lol) are "slaving" just to survive and maintain survival.

So their "children" call us Lazy, ....LoL I find that Funny, Blame Karma, Blame Ya "Parents". wink
As I said before if their countries were to mplement social services similar to America and UK....many of them wouldn't be talking out the side of their necks. I don't care for it because I have to pay into with my taxes however...I do expect people to use it as a stepping stone and thrive for independence. It is easy to point fingers to what other countries should and shouldn't do. There are a lot of things that African countries should do but it is not up to me to dictate because it doesn't have nothing to do with me but then why would i live in a country where I feel lacks what I think it should have? It doesn't make any sense to me.

One thing I can say about Black Americans....they have fought and demanded civil rights in a country that isn't theirs. However, you have many Africans who leaders are allowing OUTSIDERS to rape their country while they are standing back doing nothing effective. Why are the people complaining if things are where it should be?

Americanized immigrants....won't even identify themselves their origin nationalities. I made a mistake of calling some of them by their origin and I was cussed out!

What does that tell you?

PhysicsQED: As I said before, if you meant "Somalia poor", then you may have a point and I might actually agree.

But then again your point is kind of meaningless because every other group besides Africans that comes to America and puts their kids in school isn't "Somalia poor" as well and black Americans aren't experiencing Somalian levels of poverty either.

Truly and utterly broke people don't immigrate to America legally and most legal immigrants of all backgrounds - not just Africans - are not truly broke at all (and are not refugees or people being granted asylum, either).
You must be responding to another chatter's comment cos I mentioned nothing about immigration. I was speaking of student visas and American universities.

It doesn't matter if you agree or not.....it doesn't change the requirements of getting a student visa in America.

Poor is poor is poor.

by the way she looks beautiful...i don't know why you hating...she didn't say anything bad about anyone...she just gave advice to her somali sisters/brothers that they date/marry within their own community. By the way she is against all interracial dating/marriage..she even says that we somalis shouldn't mix with arabs or other muslims...which i agree with..

It doesn't matter if she gave advice...she doesn't run anyone but herself. If a Somalian woman wants to marry someone that isn't Somalian....it is her human right to be happy with whomever makes her happy. The most important thing INTELLIGENT human beings should focus on happiness and prosperity.

Why should a woman/man be unhappy with someone just because YOU think they should be with someone that is Somalian? A chatter said it best..just because I marry someone that is in my culture/region doesn't mean I will be happy.

No, you do not. People is plural and person is singular so if you have an issue with Royal's statement then you need to be direct. Use that Somalian monkey's example...he didn't need a crowd to speak his mind and he stood by it alone.
