xtramo: Nugget: Women are NOT cars that break down and need to be fixed. Women are more like flowers that need to be showered with understanding and love. What it means: Men and women do not approach emotional upsets the same way. Men go to a space by themselves and then figure out a 'solution'. While, Women prefer to have someone listen, validate their feeling with words AND emotions. Example: Tom forgets to grab the milk that Michelle asks him to pick up on his way home. Michelle has had a bad day, and barks at Tom when he shows up sans milk. Tom, thinking like a man, says he'll go get the milk after dinner and thinks that'll be the end of Michelle's anger. (the FIX) But, During dinner he can still feel Michelle's anger. Tom returns the anger with anger and the whole 'milk situation' explodes into WWIII Now imagine, If when Tom returned home, (he would've looked deeper and realized this was about more than just the milk) Michelle: Where's the milk? Tom: Oh CRAP! I totally spaced it out! Michelle: It figures. (angrily) Tom: (Taking Michelle in his arms) I can't believe I forgot the milk. I've been so forgetful lately. Michelle: (cooling down) It's okay. It's not a big deal. Tom: No, it is a big deal. (cupping Michelle's face in his hands) I love you, you're just as busy as I am and I shouldn't forget such a small request. Michelle: (big smile) Ooooh, I've just had a bad day and felt totally unappreciated. I shouldn't be such a grump. You're so sweet. Tom: It's okay, I was a bad boy, You can punish me later after I get the milk. What happened today? Michelle: Mmmmm, (and she tells him about her day.) Now, I used 'milk' as a small example. What's important to understand is that you don't HAVE to solve every problem. If your break up was over 'money', more than likely, it wasn't REALLY over 'money'. Anymore than the argument between Tom and Michelle was about the milk. This sounds like two high school kids not knowing the real aspect of relationship and what is required of them. People have this notion that all women are the same and all men are the same. It is a societal notion that men are tough and women are weak. It also explains why some men are very vocal when it comes to "assertive" women because they feel that by societal standards that women are to be meek and seen. The same effects with men where the mother tells a young boy not to cry because it would make him less than a man when all it does teaches him not to be expressive of his feelings and you have some men today reacting physically then verbally. I would rather have a man that express his anger verbally then physically. Communication is very important and if the woman told her man to get a gallon of milk before he left and he doesn't. It shouldn't have turned into WWIII because it is a simple mistake that he didn't get the milk. We have to be realistic in what we fight for in our relationship and fighting over milk is not important or shouldn't be important. Some people who are frustrated with their relationship or life will find the dumbest thing to fuss over and use it as a way to leave the relationship. I am not saying that you shouldn't leave the relationship, but I am saying check yourself before you end up destroying every relationship you have because you haven't learned from YOUR flaws and maturate from it. |

I sensed some hypocrites on this thread. Many of you have made claims to what YOU DO NOT LIKE but when someone mentioned what THEY DO NOT LIKE, it is discriminating and illogical? People need to learn to accept that not everyone thinks the same nor wants the same thing. It is not the end of the world if someone prefers a less hairy person! Let them live/learn from their decisions. |

It is a shame how adults (I assume) are blaming movies for their DECISIONS. It is not Nollywood nor Hollywood fault that your brain hasn't maturated to the point of rational comprehension.
You should know some things in the movies is purely entertainment and shouldn't take to heart. It is a shame when Hollywood has to constantly plaster disclaimers all over the screen for dumb arse people to get that this act or scene shouldn't be attempted at home!
If a man was to rape a girl, because he saw a scene in a movie that makes it okay? WTF.
Take responsibility for your OWN ACTIONS AND DECISIONS. |

MsDarkSkin: Someone sounds like they are hurting. Sucks to be you right now.
wow so you wait until i log off to pop shiet? TWO posts about how 'the slave trade is over' in a row without being provoked >>> guilty and ashamed much? south americans have their own pan-African movement reetard . Proper African my azz. More like 'Ignit Bush Monkey'. How excited the average African WITH SENSE gets when they hear of western blacks keeping up their african tradition and some even traveling to the west to do their own studies about it. Bet you didn't know in Jamaica alone there were Ghanaian and Nigerians down there whose sole purpose is to study our history
My own teacher asked me in DISGUST "why do you consider yourself african? you're jamaican, you're not african", I looked at the white man and said "I am black that's why".
which leads me to THE FACTS: why would he be disgusted? why would other races look @ us western blacks with a puzzled look when we claim Africa? . . .
You already know why! you want to talk about AAs but fail to realize Africans are the most stereotyped people in the world!! So bad Africans had to take it upon themselves to create "the africa you don't see" videos on youtube to counter how every time you see news coverage of Africans it's something bad: war, famine, r@pe, and the s3x trade. Such a shame.
That documentary about child witches was not filmed in the western world the statistics of violation per capita on our side is not rated among the highest african americans and jamaicans look to each other for inspiration BECAUSE we are inspiring, look at your artists! Your celebs and culture as a whole is trying HARD to compete with and imitate akatas but i'm not mad at that. I respect that! you talk about our youth calling themselves 'niggas'? i guess wale, tinie tempah and the rest of the wannabes aren't Nigerian now . And look you this fo0l popping shiet on the internet. 'proper african' my azz. Nothing but jealousy and "bad mind". So much steam and hatred but still ain't worth a damn. All that "culture" but can't even get yourself together, mad as hell cause nobody toasted your ignorant azz .
anyway you can continue to do you and talk junk. you're jobless and attention seeking anyway, i'm just mad I gave you my time.
@onila,
 smh. I have seen many Nollywood movies and many of them do favors "Hollywood" style. Oprah Winfrey, A Black American woman is an icon in Africa. |
