Someone that study maths has same if not more knowledge in secondary school chemistry, physics and maths than an engineer,
An electrical engineer might not be good in mechanics and heat, a mechanical engineer might not be good in electricity ,electronics and optics a civil engineer might not have a knowledge in physics more than the knowledge of a microbiology student.
So let engineers face what they are trained for. They are not qualified to teach.
TD their is little or no difference between the secondary school curriculum and the Engine drawing curriculum in the uni.
A maths teacher who did TD in secondary school has an equivalent knowledge in the subject as an engineering student inTD.

Been a mechanical engineer does not mean he can teach maths, have know people who can solve calculus very well but can't score more than average in SSCE general mathematics,
They can do longitude and latitude, bearing they don't understand the terms let alone analyze it, the don't understand set, euclidian geometry average, statistics poor the list goes on, been an engineer do not qualify you to teach mathematics
What else diffrenciate an engineer from a secondary school graduate knowledge in mathematics, just advanced calculus , average algebra and matrices.
engineers that teach maths studied it oustide the engineering curriculum, so engineering degree should not be a requirement for a maths teacher in terms of knowledge of the subject matter not to talk of the the teacher matters.
In their so called requirements I can't even find BEd

I made that statement to some of my mathematics friends trying to correct my English and they all started to laugh,
