Justwise I am very pleased to announce to you that I just received an offer of place for admission from university of buckingham 5 minutes ago. School starts by 12 january 2012 in buckingham.
But justwise I'm confused at the moment, I have a problem, I hope you remember the issue of error in date of birth on waec result which I posted here on nairaland weeks ago.
The error on my waec result which was wrongly written as 23 of january 1991. Instead of the correct one which is 23 of may 1991.
Justwise the issue here is that I combined my results for admission into university of buckingham with the error on my waec certificate and now the university has offered me admission. Justwise I went to the waec office today to collect another waec result which I sat for in 2008. I have three waec results two of which I sent to the school for admission and the last one which I collected today. Now I have the another waec result with me without any error. What I want to know is that justwise shud I inform the school of this error so that they will collect the new waec result I got today and substitute it with the one which has an error. Becos the university said if I pay my deposit they will issue me cas letters. And I don't want complications in the embassy with date of birth issues. It's so painful becos I have the correct one now but it wasn't available when I applied to university of buckingham.

Hello justwise and everyone, pls I need ur advice from you guys. I would like to hear from you all. I'm about taking my pearson test of english language exam next week.
My college asked for pearson or ielts for uk admission. A friend recommended me to take pearson becos it is much okay and also the speed of getting result in 5 days compared to ielts which is 2 weeks. But i would like to know which is better and easier. I would like to know which one of the exams would I find easy and for me to have a high score. How can I prepare for pearson test exam. Pls anyone who has taken pearson test of english should pls write ur experience. Hw was d exam like? Was it difficult?

@Mr globe I have not made my application. But I will make my application soon via ucas. But try some other universities that allow direct application to the university. You can apply to University of Buckingham online. then will reply you and request for your academic certificates. They are accepting international students for january 2012 resumption. They are offering a two year degree course. Which is on a fast track system. Try some others too. Or better still here is my email so we cud talk better kellysilver2015@yahoo.com.

Gooday justwise and ever1 in the house pls I need advise regarding my uk admission. I am about making my application through ucas for uk admission. And I contacted some of the universities to ask if they need ielts for admission. But more than 5 universities replyed me and told me that they don't need ielts for admission that the can accept waec result with at least a grade c6 in english language. And I have a grade c5 in my waec in english language.
What I would like to know is that if I get admission to this university without ielts can the embassy issue me a visa. I hope I won't have problem getting my visa. I would love to hear your opinions so that I would proceed to the next step.

@Vicjustice thank you once again for your support. I am heading to the waec office tomorrow to make the complain. First of, you know I told you ealier on here on my post that I have two waec results. The first waec result is having an error with just a letter word with my middle name and the second result is having the date of birth error. So I am heading to the waec office tomorrow to get the certificate of the first waec result, the one wth the name error, then I will also complain to them about the second waec result wth the date of birth error. The greatest fear I'm having now is dt I don't know how long it would take the waec officials to rectify the error on the result because some people say it takes 3-6 months to amend the error.

He mistakenly made the error. Maybe my handwriting was too tiny so he couldn't see it clearly then he wrote something else when filling my waec registration form for the exam.
Actually, my Birth certificate was issued by the federal republic of Nigeria national population commission. It has the stamp and signature on it by the issuer of the birth certificate.
The Date of birth on my passport corresponds and matches with the date of birth on my international passport. All my documents bear the same date of birth of my international passport and my birth certificate. They bear 23 of may 1991. Which is correct.
My Transcripts of result bears the same date of birth correctly with my international passport and birth certificate, my school leaving certificate testimonial also corresponds correctly too. But it is only the waec result which I told you about bears it wrongly with all my documents. My waec result is stating it wrongly as 23 of january 1991 which is wrong.
All other documents corresponds and matches it well with my international passport and birth certificate.

I will do as u said, I will get an affidavit to correct the error. @vicjustice regarding what you stated I shud include in the form for the correction of name. Does it still imply for correction of date of birth also. Because I have two waec results. But an error was made in the date of birth in my second waec result. my correct date of birth is 23/05/1991 but it was wrongly written as 23/01/1991. Justwise and vicjustice should I also use an affidavit to correct the error as well too as u stated ealier on.

But justwise I hope I won't have problem with getting a visa because of the sworn affidavit. Or do you know of anyone who has gotten a student visa with sworn affidavit where a mistake of name has been made,

Hello justwise and everyone in the house, pls I need advice on what to do next. I'm about applying for admission into a uk university but there is an error in my name in my waec result. My surname is correctly spelt, my first name was also correctly spelt, But my middle name was spelt wrongly with just a letter error. My correct middle name is osayemen but it was wrongly written on my waec result as Osayemeh.
I would like to know if an affidavit is going to settle everything. Should I go on to apply for admission and get a sworn affidavit to cover everything? Hope it won't affect my chances of getting a visa at the embassy.? Becos I don't want complications in my visa applications. Justwise nd everyone your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. @Boy619, I have been browsing through the internet in search of publicly owned colleges but it hasn't been easy for me. But an agent told me that each city in the uk have publicly owned colleges that is funded by the government. There is one publicly owned college I know of which is city college manchester. But publicly owned colleges tuition fee is not quite different from priveately owned colleges. It varies, depending on the course u r going in for. It shouldn't be anything more than €5,000 or even lesser than that price. @Boy 619 why can't u apply to a university instead. Why not get a degree instead of wasting money on diploma courses in colleges. Although universities r quite expensive but one can get financial aid from the university. It worths going to uni's than going to colleges where u r not permitted to work. I wonder wht I shud be doing in the uk when I'm nt permitted to work. @Boy 619, Publicly owned colleges are not universities. They are just funded by the uk government. But most private colleges are owned by pakistains and indians. But some colleges are publicly owned and sponsored by the government. So the new uk system doesn't permit does going to private colleges to work. But 95% of the universities in uk are funded by the government and thereby allowing international students to work 20 hours weekly why does going to publicly owned colleges can work 10 hours weekly. But private college r nt allowed to work. @Boy 619 did your college tell you that you would be permitted to work? If nt ask them. I have been sending west london college email but they don't respond to my email. I want to apply for admission for january resumption. I just hope I get work permit from the college.
