Hello house, I intend applying for undergraduate for fall 2013 session. The schools I intend applying to said I shouldn't send photocopy of any documents. They said they accept notarized documets. I intend notarizing my documents and transcript at the ikeja high court and sending it to the school in Us. But I'm a bit confused here which one is WES evaluation of transcripts as I'm seeing on here. Is WES for masters or transfer students. Is it the same as notarization of documents as well too. Because WES seems to be a long process for me compared to Notarization. Pls help guys before I make a silly mistake.

Hello Nairalanders, Pls house I would like to suggest that age is becoming an issue for some people regarding their current academic level. Some people feel so discouraged to apply for undergraduate study because they feel they are too old. Pls anyone who has gotten his student visa at undergraduate level should please indicate their age as well while posting their success story as this would motivate others as well. Thanks guys.

It will pay you no good... @Free R1, does dis mean the VO will be very strict at interview.. What do u mean by Orientation. The School said they accept certified copies..
The Airport post-office is good, i think they clear out like everyday. I once posted stuff from there with about N200 (unregistered mail) and it took 5 days to get to the recipient in Texas (that was some years ago though).

I said this here before, schools and departments always have something (sometimes, not very relevant things) to boast about themselves on their websites. They talk about having the best this or that or their ranking. That is what is supposed to attract you to them in the first place, you can build your story around this and tell the VO how you plan to benefit from that.
@Kay Dee.. Thanks for the info.. Pls how does the airpot post office work.. Because I'm considering using nipost or a government post office.. Because I was told here dt one can send documents to Us with #600 within 10 days it wud get to Us.. But it seems your method seems faster nd cheper...@Kay Dee what airport is dt? And postal stamps Ranges from #20 to #100... It might not be expensive for me if I use this means, but I don't really know if they allow tracking of documents...

@Jimtosam, Thank you so much for your kind response.. I'm very delighted.. I intend to study Business Management. One more thing, I would like to ask you since I would be applying to 5 schools, this would also mean that my secondary high school counsel
will have to send all transcripts and supporting documents directly to Us university. @jimtosam, Is there any alternative way for me to send my transcripts directly to them without using my secondary school? Can I send it myself? Because my High school counselor might not have my time to go through all this stress. U knw 9ja schools na.. He might even hv a Busy schedule. And also I intend taking SAT by October 2012.. Can I apply for admission before I get my SAT result? Can I apply for admission by August 2012 and later send my SAT scores to the school when it is out by ending october 2012.. Is this possible? I intend to apply for Fall 2013 resumption.. Pls kindly advice me further, and also @Jimtosam, pls can I have your email, I have some personal issues to discuss with you. Thanks. Waiting for your kind response.

And also I would also like to know since I would be applying to 5 schools, can applying for a fee waiver for application fee be a disadvantage for admission decisions?.. Travel › Help Justwise & Everyone On Uk And Russia Admission by mrswagger(op): 3:25am On Mar 31, 2012
Gooday justwise nd Everyone. I would like your candid advice on this one. I'm a little bit confused at the moment because the pressure is on me. I have been writing jamb since 2007 to no avail, so I decided to pursue my dreams abroad. I chose Uk as my first choice of study.

But I have been granted so many offers. I was given admission to study at University of Bradford in Uk with a £2,000pounds scholarship and ielts not required. But the tuition fee is £11,000pounds. With scholarship it was brought down to £9,000 pounds. Justwise the school requested I pay a deposit as low as £2,000pounds before I get my CAS letters. But to me uk universities deceive international students alot. I have a feeling they use this as a medium to attract students. Even with scholarship dis tuition fee is too high. but finance is the problem. My mom is a widow and I don't want to put pressure on her.

Justwise & Co I would like you guys to advice me which country is better for me to study with low tuition fee. My mom said she can be able to pay a tuition fee as low as #400,000 per annum. At the moment I'm considering studying at Russia, Moscow. Because some of my high school class mate are there and also I received an email yesterday from the international study centre in russia who informed me that I can get a university with Business management in english which varies between $3,000 - $5,000 which is okay by me and by my Mom's finance. She can afford to pay $3,000 per annum. But I'm aware there is high rate of racism there. That's why I'm little bit confused. This russia universities are very cheap compared to uk. Even accomodation is so cheap.

Justwise what do u guys think, do u think I shud proceed with my Russia admission or I shud go with uk admission. I don't want a situation whereby I will pay £2,000 pounds deposit to uk university and after I get my visa the school will require you to balance up 50% of £9,000pounds. Before you can enroll. And if you are unable to balance up to 50% they won't refund your initial deposit and therefore they wud cancel your admission. 50% of the tuition fee is very high on my side. I'm trying to be realistic. And I don't really think even when I go to uk I can get a job that would enable me balance up my tuition fee. Justwise & Everyone I know what I'm writing might be too long but there is vital points in what I'm saying. .

Justwise I'm a little bit scared because my mom struggled so hard for this money and I can't let it waste in vain. This uk universities don't have mercy on international students.

Many Nigerians get stucked in uk because they are unable to balance their tuition fee. And uk universities are too strict and stingy with scholarships. And also with balancing up of tuition fee.

Justwise & vicjustice and everyone your advice would be greatly appreciated. You might not only save a life here while posting your vital advice, you might as well save so many lives.. Lots of people in my situation might be reading dis and they wud learn from dis post...

Thanks.. Hope to hear from u guys soon.

Justwise & femmi. Thanks for yóur reply. I'm sorry you don't understand the post well. But I would like to ask you some certain questions so that you can understand;
1. Can waec issue me another may/june certificate after I have once collected it once from my school. The certificate got burnt, so can I get another one from waec office?
2. If waec is unable to issue me another certificate, can my statement of results which was signed by my principal replace the missing waec certificate? Becos I took the may/june waec in my school.
3. When applying for a uk student visa, Can the uk embassy accept statement of result from my secondary school, which was signed by my principal?.
4. Can the uk enbassy accept document which don't really match with the one I sent to the university in uk. But they all carry the same principal's signature and the same information provided to both documents. Because I replaced the original documents but they don't look exactly like the one I sent to the university in uk for admission. All becos of difference in paper type. My secondary school gave me a letter headed paper instead of normal certificate. But it was signed by my principal.
Justwise, I hope I have been able to explain and illustrate this better for your understanding. Thanks justwise and everyone, hope to hear from you soon.

Gooday justwise and everyone, I have three offers from three universities in uk. I wish to study foundation programme in Business management for january 2012 resumption. My university gave me a conditional acceptance letter upon me achieving ielts or pearson test of english to be changed to Unconditional acceptance letter. But I intend taking Pearson before next month runs out. But justwise I have a problem, all the original document I used in getting admission to the universities all got burnt. There was a fire incident in my uncle's office where I kept all the original documents which was scanned and sent to the school for admission.
But justwise, I made a lot of effort in recovering all my lost original documents because I will need them for my visa application. The document which I submitted for admission are; Transcripts of result, School leaving certificate/Testimonial, Certificate of Meirt (laboratory Prefect), waec result 2008, waec result 2007.
Justwise, I'm very lucky that I still have one waec certificate with me. Which is 2008 waec, I had my result in one sitting. I have a grade c5 in english and a grade B3 in mathematics. But the other waec result is burnt. Which is the one I took in my school the year 2007. I had a grade c4 in mathematics, a grade D7 in English language. I combined the two results for admission.
Justwise I have been able to recover all document which got missing from my secondary school. But my school said they don't issue may/june waec certificate twice. They said they can only give me statement of reults which would be signed by my Principal.
justwise can I get another waec certificate from waec?
Secondly, if I'm unable to get another waec certificate, can my statement of result which I took from my school replace the waec certificate. Can the uk embassy accept statement of result, which was signed by my principal. Because I took the may/june waec 2007 in my secondary school.
Lastly, I would like to tell you that I have recovered all missing original documents which were used for admission. I have gotten them back from my school, but justwise my school refused to give me another school leaving certificate which match with the one I submitted for uk admission. They said they don't issue it twice. Instead they gave another school leaving cetificate with a letter headed paper, which I took to my principal and it was signed.
Justwise I would like to ask you if the uk embassy can accept this documents even if they don't match with the one I submitted for uk admission. But all the document all have the same principal's signature and they all carry the same information provided and are all signed.
But all the documents I used in getting admission were scanned and I still have them on my laptop and my email.
Thanks justwise and everyone, I'm kind of confused at the moment, so I would like to hear ur opinion on this. All suggestions are kindly welcomed and appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon,
