Effiko: so wat do u guyz think of fletcher . . .from last nightSeems ok, doesn't look at strong as before and didn't really see him making lots of tackles but that will come. Passing was pretty good though. |
coogar: the constant changing of personnel is not going to help! i dunno why it's taken forever for smalling & jones to get back - lazy twäts!No point rushing them back if they're going to get injured again though or if they're not match fit enough. I would have preferred one of the reserve defenders to be thrown in at the deep end. |
Hernandez was immense. Very impressed with him. Should probably start ahead of Welb as he offers a real goal threat. I really hope we can get our defence back in shape though. We're so bad defensively at the moment its not even funny. |
How is Big Save Dave doing??
Doing ok. Not had much to do and couldnt do much about both goals. |
I can see how we're going to beat Chelsea on Sunday. We're going to conceed 6 early goals and then beg them abi? |
Apparently, rio and Evra will be rested for the brags match which makes sense to me considering we have Chelsea on Sunday. SAF also confirmed the rio shirt issue has been resolved that it was just a communication breakdown. |
I completely disagree with SAF's stance on this issue. He's more upset that it made him look silly despite saying all his players would wear the shirt. Rio has a rig to make a stand on this issue and it's funny how it's only ok for SAF to make a personal stance like his bbc interview boycott. Baba being a hypocrit again. |
SailorXY: and y is that?Well pick anyone of these reasons. Defensively, we're pretty weak at the moment. Poor central midfield options. Chelsea's form is pretty good and we dont usually deal with those types of attackers(Mata,Hazard,Oscar) very well. More importantly, SAF is losing is magic. |
coogar: we must beat chelsea next week - city's win today means if we don't win next week, we would slip to 3rd or even 4th! to beat chelsea, we would need our young midfielders in the middle of the pitch to stop the rampaging mata-eden-oscar triumvirate!I would hate to be negative or the bearer of bad news but, We might get raped next week. |
Happy with the win but again, the defending was very poor. I understand SAF is not happy with RIO for not wearing the kick it out shirt. Chelsea next. Bring it on. |
De Gea, Rafael, Evra, Ferdinand, Evans, Carrick, Valencia, Scholes, Rooney, Welbeck, van Persie. |
I heard anders has an injury so it's might be big save dave after all. |
Overall solid performance. Great to keep a clean sheet but DDG made me sweat ![]() He really needs to improve his judgement on crosses. he's a fantastic shot stopper with great reflexes but he isnt commanding enough and his judgement on crosses really need to improve. I have faith in him though and I really hope he gets a run in the team. Everyone else defended very well today, even Evra and Rafael. Rooney was very good in that role, very important. Roll on, onwards and upwards. |
montelik: was that a goal? for me yes. I have never agreed with the rule that the whole of the ball must cross the line. for me if more of the ball is across the line than not, it should be a goal. but ddg managed to stopp the whole of the ball from crossing the line.Well by the laws of the game, it wasnt a goal. it cannot be 99.99% over the line. it has to be completely over the line for it to count. |
I never expect anything from Welbeck when close to goal as I know he just doesnt have a striker or finisher's quality. I still like him, he's a good player. |
MUFC: De Gea, Rafael, Evra, Ferdinand, Evans, Rooney, Carrick, Welbeck, Van Persie, Cleverley, KagawaStrange lineup. Very attacking but dont see much genuine width. Hope Nani is on the bench to come on. Also seems SAF has lost faith in Nani completely. Which would be a shame really. |
Gold help us when Demba Ba gets hold of our defence on Sunday. ![]() |
We made that harder than it should have been. Good win all the same. A few points. 1) DDG needs to be our number one. No more chopping and changing keepers. DDG makes the big saves, sure he might flap a little but he'll only get better with experience. Just give the kid a run in the side. 2) Defence are not on the same wavelength at all. injuries haven't helped but Rafa and Evra are exposing Rio's now apparent lack of pace too much. Needs a lot of work. I'm not looking forward to facing Demba Ba at the weekend. ![]() 3)We badly need a top defensive midfielder its not even funny any more. Need to find one this January otherwise we're just going to write off the season as another trophy-less season. 4) We could do worse than get Gary Neville as Fergie's number 2. I know he wouldn't be a yes man and he would actually challenge SAF. |
Fertile just using the usual diversion tactics with his added time comments. |
Yep, totally deserved defeat even though we dominated the 2nd half. If anything Im glad we lost, maybe SAF will wake up or seek treatment as he's starting to go senile. Definitely all SAF's fault. The midfield is just disgusting. Especially as a 65 yr old is still our best midfielder. Giggs should be forced into retirement. but I dont even want to name individual players. That one is all SAF as we have the worst midfield in the top 6. |
SAF has lost it. Everyone in world football can see the midfield is disastrous except saf. Look at the 2nd goal. Bale just ran through the midfield not a single challenge. If we dont buy 2 top midfielders in January for get it. SAF is done. Also Kagawa is too lightweight. Not writing him off but he cannot do a single thing in a game like this. Giggs and Kagawa off for Rooney and Anderson and hopefully we dont get disgraced by full time. |
I imagine the thread is about to be locked again. Ridiculous. |
Anders,Rafael,Rio,Evans,Evra,Nani,Carrick,Scholes,Giggs,Kagawa,Rvp ![]() Midfield will get overrun as usual. |
montelik: https://i.minus.com/ibcuL38KnGfXKD.gifI nearly split my bald head when Cleverley missed that. |
Smalling pencilled in for end of October . Jones much later. The injuries are definitely a curse. |
I didnt think Sterling got much change from Evra. I thought Evra did ok against Sterling's raw pace. Rafael did ok and Rio was immense. Everyone else poor/average. Im hoping we cant play worse but with this squad Im not sure. |
Well we've won at Anfield for the first time in a while, with a huge slice of luck and overall a very poor performance. Stunning finish from Rafael for the first goal. Overall Im very unhappy with the squad. |
montelik: Our matches at Anfield are always tightly contested. Its one of those fixtures I see as a point gained if we draw and not points forfeited if we lose. Liverpool could be on a run of 20 consecutive blowout losses while dealing with an Ebola virus outbreak in their squad and still manage to raise their game sufficiently enough to face us. As far as I am concerned it don't matter what team we pick, it will always be a tight game. With little flair or creativity on show, but lots of feistiness, challenges, energy and emotion. This particular fixture will have lots of it. My preffered line-up.I actually agree with that lineup. Only problem is there is zero chance of any goals from the middle with those guys. |
Well we're currently very sloppy. Chopping and changing players and keepers. While the scouse always raise their game for big matches. If vra doesnt play we're even more screwed. You know giggs will start the match. |
Hard game at anfied on sunday. Would actually be delighted with a draw. |
I wa also very happy to see fletch. Hope he gets his strength and form back. |
