I was another not particularly impressed with Ashley Young's signing and although he was fantastic against Arsenal I still need abit more convincing about him. I'm certainly willing to give him a chance though.

Again, missed the match and just got round to watching it although i knew the score.

Alot to be said, obviously delighted and actually had a tiny bit of sympathy for Arsenal (then remembered some of their twattish fans).

@arsenalreport Arsenal Report
Both teams only had same avg age if you round the numbers down, ignoring decimals. Actual numbers more like Arsenal 24.2, Man Utd 23.6.
A quote for some to enjoy from twitter grin

Im not doubting that, of course we are favourites for the title and rightfully so. But it would be silly to dismiss the threat posed by City and Chelsea. ts still very early in the season and there are still players being signed. Not all foreign players take time to settle, some will hit the ground running others wont. The core of City and Chelsea have been in the league for a while so we cant expect them to all be settling for a whole season?

weep, no?
but then my expectations of winning the champions league or knocking barca off their perch would reduce.
i will expect us to reach the quarter-final or semis in europe and nothing more.

the league is ours, debarring any mass injury to the squad.
I wouldnt be that confident about the Premier league.

heaven forbid this. . . . .
what would nasri add to us?

all i know is we are not done yet.
united normally do the team's photo shoot a week(max) after their last signing.

this hasn't been done yet and it's been several weeks after the last signing.
i am confident wesley sneijder is coming by the 31st of august.
I hope you dont weep bitterly when he doesnt join. grin

Always been a big fan of Jose but I lost a lot of respect for him doing that to the Barca coach. Just completely pathetic and cowardly.

Same goes to anyone defending those actions.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 6:56pm On Aug 23, 2011
Currently it is obvious Welbeck is ahead of Macheda in development its not even close. Macheda might end of being better in the long run but as it stands Welbeck is well ahead as that loan spell really allowed him to come to grips with the rigours of top level football experience. Macheda hasnt had that. He had the opportunities in some big games and he has done well but we wont get many chances and there have been reports around the club that he has an attitude problem. Hopefully he sorts himself out and he has enormous potential but he needs to get his head right and he definitely needs a loan spell to play regularly and develop.

Im still not convinced Welbeck will be a number one striker at united though.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 3:40pm On Aug 23, 2011
We definitely need one player in midfielder no in terms of numbers but in terms of genuine top quality.

To whoever asked for evidence of Welbeck being currently better than Macheda, Are you serious?

sir alex ferguson, please sign sneijder this week.
don't be deceived by yesterday's performance by the rookies. it's one thing battering spurs who were knackered from playing in the midweek, it's another thing facing the zombies in munich or the boys from catalonia.

sign sneijder now!!!
Sorry, SAF said to let you know that he forgot his nairaland password. wink

Sneijder isnt happening. Get yourself prepared for this. We're still just about good enough at home but we will fall short in Europe unless UEFA orders Barcelona to disband for being too good.

Very happy with the youthful squad were playing lately. I still want the older players to be part of the squad though. Arsenal game is important as always. We all know these big games are never straight forward but we'll be going in very confident especially at home.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 12:20pm On Aug 22, 2011
I actually hope and want Berbatov to start today. Obviously Welbeck will start and get the nod but I really think Berba deserves another chance despite the fact I wouldnt mind us selling him.

let it be known that barcelona(the club fergie is dying to close the gap on) have not stagnated.
in this summer, they have bought world class players in alexi sanchez(£23m) fabregas(£29m) and we are supposed to close them with young(£18m) and phil jones(£16m), right?
You're right, but I dont think Baba plans to close the gap in just one season. He looking to leave a lasting legacy for when he leaves so that the the fall immediately after he's gone. It was obvous he was trying to address with issue with the Sneijder chase, it just didnt work out.
