Berba was not a threat which is the main issue. Even if Owen is useless you know he can be a threat and make intelligent forward runs like the one that opened space for Nani's opener.

It was always going to be a tough match. So the point isnt the worse in the world all things considered.

Injuries are definitely piling up now though.

Rafael
Vidic
Smalling
Evans
Cleverley
Rooney
Hernandez.

Just really annoying.

We march on, cool

Im drawing the line on this matter with the club's statement. cool

Following certain comments reported in the media this morning, the Club has issued the following statement:

Manchester United is disappointed with Owen’s remarks after the game on Wednesday. The Club gave him the best possible care for three years and is as disappointed as anyone he was not able to play a part in the team’s success at that time. It has shared all the medical records with Manchester City and is comfortable with the actions taken by its medical staff at each step of his many attempts at rehabilitation.

United does not acknowledge any validity in the comments Owen is alleged to have made.

Manchester United has some of the best sports medical staff in world sport, who have made a significant contribution to United’s on-pitch success in recent seasons.

Only OH knew what he went through but regardless of what happened, he has been very disrespectful to the club. He claims he has been fit since the end of last season when he posted the youtube videos so obviously its not City that made his knees better? He went on to sign for City which was less than ideal but we all still gave him our blessing but making such comments are the club after all that has been invested in him was very very disappointing.

Part of the reason his contract wasnt renewed was so he could go somewhere and get a chance to play regularly and hopefully get his career back on track.

Just smacks of a lack of class when you're spitting at your ex gf from your current girlfriend's  house.

Definitely some disappointing comments from Hargreaves. He didnt need to bad mouth the club that supported and paid him full wages for 3 seasons of doing nothing. oh well. The club moves on.

Seems Smalling is injured so hopefully Rio is fit again to start. It's likely to be Jones that'll go to RB and Evans to partner Rio, then Evra for the Back 4.

Away at Stoke is always tough but I'm guessing it'll be Fletcher and Anderson in the middle with Young and Nani wide.

I've actually never been a fan of Fletcher and Anderson as the middle 2 as they've never really performed well together as the thought of it would suggest. Hopefully that changes.

Hernandez was back in training on Wednesday so he might start with Rooney.

A huge test for De Gea ahead though.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 12:42pm On Sep 22, 2011
Whether it is down to the makeshift defence, absence of Vida and Rio, Evra's continual denfensive failure, lack of an enforcer in the middle or even our failure to defend from the front properly or just a misguided belief that De Gea is vulnerable from distance
For me its a combination for these factors and really playing 2 in the middle against these sides also contributes to this.

Cant narow it down to one thing.

Thought fletcher was poor but he still needs time and games. Carsick has to start with Anderson since cleverly still out.

Good game. We were abit fortunate but,you make your own luck in this world.I thought Chelsea played better but by sheer force of will, scored the important goals. Our defenders are good players but we didn't defend well at all today.
Still need Ferdinand and Vidic. What upset me the most was Cole nearly breaking Hernandez's leg. angry

I really wanted Berba to score that goal but Rooney's pass was poor.

Can't stop laughing about Torres's miss. grin grin

Onwards and upwards,

Well the only reason why baba would play Valencia ahead of nani is that AV played well against cole last few times. He just seemed to be able to bully cole physically.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 9:31am On Sep 15, 2011
As expected it was a difficult game, probabaly the toughest group stage game and considering we needed to give minutes to some of the other players who have hardly played it was also a disjointed performance. I dont there there was much cause for alarm.

I did think Berbatov should also have got some minutes as I really dont think he's played much football this season, probably about 20mins against W.Brom in the opening match.

Anders Lindegaard impressed but I still think and agree with SAF that De Gea should still be the number one. Fletcher has lost alot of match time and he's getting the fitness back but not sharpness yet. Apart from the shaky West Brom game he's been pretty good, and i have no issues with him playing.

Carrick also needs more matches as he tends to only perform when the whole team is playing well and after playing in the team for a while. We need him now as Cleverley is out for a bit and might not have the same sharpness he had before. Only issue with Carrick is that he's a different type of midfielder to Cleverley and I think at the moment Cleverley's game suits the new look of th team more than Carrick.

The game on sunday is huge right now as Chelsea are alot more dynamic in attack when the play a trio of Mata,Torres and Sturridge. While their midfield is not as dynamic ( although Mereiles improves that aspect) midfield is still our weakest position so Im expecting alot from the strikers (Rooney, Hernandez)and the wingers (Nani, young). Chelsea are taking shape in how the want to play so we must be ready. Thankfully its at home.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by MrTA(m): 9:34am On Sep 12, 2011
Hmm, happy about the dynamic younger players but the more experienced players need games too for when injuries inevitably start to cripple the team. Would like a little bit of rotation for the Benfica match not much though as this will be a tough game but Im very weary about Chelsea at the weekend.

The City ft Kendrick Lamar ( everyone needs to check out Kendrick Lamar)

Those are the only tracks on really like.

And seriously everyone needs to check out Kendrick Lamar's album - section.80 ( lead single was Hiiiii Power produced by J.Cole)

Overall decent album but game struggles with his identity. No one still knows who or what is he as a rapper as he makes a good job of sounding like 4/5 rappers on his albums, especially this one.

Sneijder claiming Jose told him to stay at Inter. Maybe Jose knows he'll be sacked this season from Real so he can head back to Inter?

Anyways, this is my last post about Sneijder. We move on,
