According to a AFP report, fifty-five people has died when a tanker truck exploded near the international airport of Niger’s capital, Niamey, overnight, an interior ministry spokesman said Monday.

Nse Ikpe-Etim, a Nollywood actress has condemned the alleged sexual harassment of women labelled a prostitutes by police officers after a raid on an Abuja night club.
On Saturday she disclosed this during an event she hosted with her fans at the event, tagged, ‘Conversation with Nse’ which took place in Lekki, Lagos.
While relating on the incident, the actress said that: “being a prostitute is not a crime. It is a job they chose,” The Nation report.

On April 27, policemen attached to the FCTA Joint Task Team arrested 34 female strippers at Caramelo night club in Abuja and labelled them as prostitutes. About 70 other women were arrested in other clubs. Arraigned before a mobile court, the women were granted bail on April 29.
The women alleged some policemen extorted them, beat them and sexually molested them after they arrested and detained at Utako Police Division between April 26 April 29, 2019. They also accused the policemen of releasing those who bribed them with money.

A disturbing footage of children in a Philadelphia Islamic center has surfaced online after saying they would sacrifice themselves and kill for the “army of Allah.”
As reported by Fox News, the Muslim American Society (MAS) Islamic Center in Philadelphia posted the video to its Facebook page celebrating “Ummah Day” in which young children wearing Palestinian scarves, sang and read poetry about killing for Allah and the mosque in Jerusalem.
“One girl talks about martyrs sacrificing their lives without hesitation to conquer Jerusalem.”
“We will defend the land of divine guidance with our bodies, and we will sacrifice our souls without hesitation,” another girl says. “We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will lead the army of Allah fulfilling His promise, and we will subject them to eternal torture.”
“These are not isolated incidents; they are happening in major centers of the country – including in Pennsylvania,” in a statement to Fox News, MEMRI wrote.
FG Secures Release Of Zainab Aliyu, Wrongly Detained In Saudi Arabia Over Drug Trafficking
Nigerian Federal Government has successfully secured the release of Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian lady who was detained in Saudi Arabia after Tramadol was found in her luggage.
Investigations by the NDLEA later showed that a cartel had planted the banned substance in Zainab’s luggage.
Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, announced that Zainab’s release has been secured.
On his verified Twitter handle, Bashir wrote:
“The Federal Government has secured the release of Zainab Habibu Aliyu who was arrested in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking. Details soon from Ministry of Foreign Affairs. #FreeZainab”
In Brazil, reports says a parrot who warned two alleged drug dealers that Police were coming was taken into custody after it almost foiled the undercover drug raid, authorities said.
According to Brazilian media Oliberal, when the parrot spotted officers last Tuesday at its owners’ Teresina, Brazil, home, it squawked “Mama, Police!” in Portuguese.
Despite the bird’s efforts to tip off its owners, a man and a woman were arrested. NBC reports says drugs, including crack and marijuana, were reportedly found at the property, as well as large amounts of money.
Since its arrest, the parrot has remained loyal, refused to talk, Police said.
Authorities believe the parrot was trained to spot Police cars.
Meanwhile, the bird is being kept at a zoo in Teresina, a city in northeastern Brazil.
