Notre-Dame is home to relics from the Passion of Christ, described as a piece of the cross, a nail and the Holy Crown of Thorns.

Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, tweeted that firefighters, police and others formed a human chain to rescue the crown, the tunic of St Louis and other valuable artefacts.

Below is the pics of the crown of thorns Christ wore during his crucifixion. Rescued by the brave firefighters yesterday. Notre-Dame's construction started in 1163, that's like 900 years ago.

On Monday evening, fire destroyed part of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the capital of France leaving many in shock.

But now, a French billionaire has pledged 100 million euros to help rebuild Notre Dame Cathedral as a defiant President Macron launches a national fundraising campaign to restore the building to its former glory.

Francois-Henri Pinault, married to Hollywood actress Salma Hayek, has pledged 100 million euros towards the rebuilding of the cathedral.

The blaze destroyed the roof of the 850-year-old UNESCO world heritage landmark on Monday evening, leaving many in tears and prayer.

A visibly emotional president Macron, spoke outside the gothic cathedral and said a national fundraising campaign to restore Notre Dame would be launched Tuesday, as he called on the world’s ‘greatest talents’ to help.

Solána Imani Rowe, an American singer, who goes by the stage name ‘SZA’ has given herself a Nigerian name.

The 28-year-old singer who was born to African American parents, a Christian mother and a Muslim father in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990.

SZA has reportedly changed her name on Instagram to Amarachi Chinonso.

A nurse who caused children to be infected with genital warts has been sentenced to jail for negligence.

The Vietnamese nurse who caused 117 children to be infected with genital warts was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

On Wednesday, the Hung Yen Province People’s Court in northern Vietnam, found Hoang Thi Hien, 50, guilty of violating medical regulations and prohibited her from practicing for three years after her release.

She also has to pay compensation of more than VND2.2 billion ($94,850) to 111 out of the 117 victims. The parents of the remaining six children could not prove that her service was the only source of their infection.

Hien ran an unlicensed medical facility at home for genital examination of children, charging up to VND520,000 ($22) for treating phimosis, a congenital narrowing of the foreskin of the penis so that it does not retract, the court said.

She had used unsterilized equipment to treat phimosis by widening the foreskin, according to an investigation. This had caused the children to contract human papillomavirus, or HPV, the direct cause of their warts.

The outbreak occurred in July 2017 with around 80 boys, most of them under two, being diagnosed with the HPV infection, causing health inspectors to begin an investigation.

Genital warts are caused by certain strains of HPV, which can lead to vulval, penile and anal cancers, though it is usually sexually transmitted.

It’s two and a half years since talented actress, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, but, now it is reported she wants them back.

Jolie has had a change of heart and wants to revive the marriage, The Sun claimed.

An anonymous source as quoted by The Sun said:

‘Angelina has made it clear to Brad that she wants to be back in a relationship with him.’

According to the report, the actress, is ‘dragging out’ the divorce negotiations in the hope of a reconciliation.

‘She would like them to be a family again and doesn’t seem capable of moving on,’ The Sun’s source claimed. ‘That’s why she is making it so difficult for Brad with every detail of their divorce.’
