GamalNasser: Half or Part literacy is far dangerous than ignorance. The States he had the most popular votes have been called for Biden by an electoral process tested and trusted by the American people . The people have voted and by implication INSTRUCTED their representatives in the Electoral college to carry out their instructions which can never be ALTERED .. to elect Biden as president.. that has been the precedent in the US for over 200 years. Some despot wannabe can’t change the status quo.... 3 Likes |

Nairaland / General / Senate Commences Inquest Into Dpr’s Remittance To FG. by MSEdLAW(m): 8:07pm On Aug 22, 2020 |
Senate commences inquest into DPR’s remittance of N44.5bn instead of generated N2.4trn Senate commences inquest into DPR’s remittance of N44.5bn instead of generated N2.4trn The Senate, on Friday, August 21, questioned the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) for remitting a paltry N44 5billion into the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federal Government in 2019 out of N2.4trillion it generated. Chairman, Senate joint committee on Finance and National Planning, Senator Solomon Adeola (Lagos West) had demanded records of the agency’s internally generated revenue in 2019 and projections for 2021. 1st News gathered that the DPR appeared before the Senate joint committee at its ongoing stakeholders’ interactive session on the 2021-2023 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), in Abuja. The Head of Planning of the DPR, Johnson Ajewole, who first spoke in the absence of the Director, Engr Sarki Auwalu, said a total of N2.4trillion was generated by DPR in 2019 but N44 5billion was remitted into the CRF. Also Read: Senate exposes alleged fraud, revenue unremittances in NTA However, the committee members described his submission as unacceptable; due to the disparity between what was generated and the amount remitted. Efforts made by the Head of Finance and Accounts of the agency, Mrs Lilian Ufondu; to explain the wide disparity in revenues and remittances, further angered the Senate committee members. According to her, out of the N2.4trillion generated by DPR in 2019, N88billion was removed as a 4% collection fee; out of which N5.72billion was also remitted; while the balance was used for overhead. Persistent questions fired at her by the Senate Committee Chairman and members on what happened to the over N2trillion balance were not satisfactorily answered as she was only able to mention overhead and operational costs without specific figures tied to them. She added as at July, DPR had generated N1.13trillion and projected N3.4trillion as revenue generation for 2021; out of which N139billion will be taken out as a 4% collection fee. Unsatisfied, the Senate committee ordered the agency must reappear before it unfailingly next Tuesday; led by its Director, Sarki Auwalu, said to have traveled abroad. Adeola said: “Information and records presented to us by Directors or heads of departments; that have spoken are not clear and insufficient; as regards the budget performance of the DPR within the last three years and revenue projection for 2021. “For this committee to do a proper and thorough job; comprehensive records of such budget performances must be made available latest by Monday next week; upon which your Director and other top management staff, will appear before us again on Tuesday next week.” https://1stnews.com/senate-commences-inquest-into-dprs-remittance-of-n44-5bn-instead-of-generated-n2-4trn/ |

Dear All, My concern stems from the recent spate of cyber-crimes perpetrated by scrupulous elements during this pandemic. I have been asked by victims of this cyber-crimes about legal alternatives to get their money back. So I decided to post this thread in order to help people to get all information they need to use their legal tools since some of the local operators have foreign collaborators. Many of the FX/financial scams are being made by unregulated companies, nevertheless, you can still go ahead and file a complaint for the financial regulator where the company is located (or they claim they are located). Please find the list of financial regulators by country: List of financial regulatory authorities by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For example: : if you would like to complain against a company who is located in Cyprus, you need to file a complaint in Cyprus. Also please note that you can complain against all EU regulated companies through the FSA/FCA as well. NOTE: some companies are regulated by more than one regulator. Also, another option is the Cyber police, now here I suggest you will report the scam/crime in the police where the company is located/regulated and where you are physically regulated. I have found this site where you can find all cyber police and internet crime unites by country: Report Internet Crime around the World at ccmostwanted.com From my experience, usually the companies are trying to avoid dealing with the regulator and the police and will try to solve your case when you see you took these actions. Good luck everyone! The EU has many regulations for consumer protection. Relevant here is:[b] http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/financial_services/distance_marketing/index_en.htm You can get help here: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/solving_consumer_disputes/non-judicial_redress/ecc-net/index_en.htm http://ec.europa.eu/finance/finservices-retail/redress/index_en.htm http://ec.europa.eu/solvit/index_en.htm For the UK the Financial Conduct authority: https://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/report-scam-unauthorised-firm and here: https://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/share-fraud-boiler-room-scams https://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/report-scam-unauthorised-firm Individual scammers risk to end on this list of "prohibited individuals": https://register.fca.org.uk/shpo_searchresultspage?preDefined=PI&TOKEN=5zq3mgf0d8qk And finally the police: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/about-us http://content.met.police.uk/Site/reportingfraud http://www.econsumer.gov/ The above link is owned by US government, but allows complaints from consumers anywhere in the world who've been scammed online. The data collected is available to police and regulators in a number of countries. You may or may not be contacted by those police or regulators, but the information you provide may be a critical piece of the puzzle for getting official action taken. I sincerely hope these findings of mine assist someone in seeking redress and restitution of lost earnings. |
